  1. You need to make sure the card is operational, and wasn't cracked or something in the shipment.. I am not sure how you do that, but perhaps try to run diagnostic programs? ~moo
  2. I wish I could withdraw with you. The Media tends to only show the "huge" events that give it ratings, and not show the continuous affairs. It's so easy to get the wrong picture. I mean.. look at me; I lived my entire life in Israel, I know the situation inside out, I respect the palstinian population, and have a fairly good notion of the reality there, and yet, lately as I am in New York (started uni, wooh), I see myself getting a distorted picture. I just try to look at the local news (both israeli and arab) and just talk to my family there, to get the real picture.. ~moo
  3. ecoli, I gave you your cut last week after deducting the payments for my brand new Island. Yaknow how it is with world domination, so much taxes and so little deductibles. You should get it by mail next wednsday. They aren't working in Labor Day. ~moo
  4. How 'bout all the gays we know? Then we can combine. All the people who have beards and are gay, or all the blondes that have beards, or all the Jews that are gays. It'll be fun. Wooh. ~moo
  5. We always generalize when we use a noun. The point in the discussion, however, is to try and point out the subtleties where generalization is not required, or is not accurate. There's a difference between saying "The World" in a sentence (a blunt generalization), or speaking about people in the world and pointing out why the generalization is flawed.. I've just tried to point that out in my post.. ~moo
  6. Good question. I am wondering that myself. I can't really explain the majority's thinking, since there are so many viewpoints, it would just be unfair. However, like many countries, there are extreme Left-wing (in Israel it is those that claim the military should not enter any Arabic-populated city, even to 'defend ourselves', since that is going to just escalate the situation and get us to conquer land) and extreme Right-wing (In israel, it's those who claim we need to get two seperate countries and essensially kick all Palestinians into the Palestinian country and keep only Jews in the Israeli territory), and there is the Majority, who's mainly in the middle. Like in most countries, really. And the examples I've braught here of extreme-left and extreme-right are also quite generalized.. the spectrum is quite huge. Again, like in most countries I will add, though, that at least according to my observation in the past few years, many of Israel's civilians are much more shifted to the middle than they used to be. A few years ago, for instance, the political system had two distinct "sides" - leftwing and rightwing - and some smaller parties. Today, the leftwing and rightwing parties are both quite similar in main ideas, and differ in the 'outlines'. Some say it is because of Terrorism and war of late recent times. As for Hamas. Well. First off, Hamas is sadly not the only organization that involves in Terrorism against Israeli civilians in the area, so when I said "busses explode", I meant more than just the Hamas. That said, Hamas was a terrorist organization, and still is to some extent. Ever since it became a political group (part of the Palestinian government) we had our hopes up that they would STOP their terrorist activities. That didn't happen. Here is a summary of Hamas as a terrorist organization. Here is another. And yet another from the BBC. The abduction of Shalit involved Hamas militants. Hamas is consistantly bringing arms INTO Israel territories to perform terrorist attacks (mostly civilian shootings lately, the terrorist suicide bombers are mainly stopped by Israel's intelligence, thankfully). Hamas is constantly firing missiles (and here too) on southern Israel's civilian villages, targetting civilians in specific. Hamas attempts terrorist suicide bombings inside Israel. And again: Hamas is not the only organization in Israel who's committing suicide bombings, and I didn't mean Hamas when I wrote it. Specifically, when Hamas became a political organization, they stopped taking responsibility for terrorist attacks, and instead have other groups that are their proteges, so that no one would claim the entirety of Palestine state is terrorist. But since you asked specifically about Hamas, there it was. ~moo
  7. You're right, Sisyphus, it wasn't my intention to generalize islam, it was my intention to give examples about Radical Islam.. I also think that there are differences within "Radical Islam". But those who demand the distruction of either a state (that did no physical harm to them) or a president of a country, and mean it (and they do mean it, as it seems), I would concider them Radicals.. Radicals are not something you can generalize, really, they exist in so many forms and shapes, it's better to just give examples what the definition contains, than to talk about "THE Radical Islam", imho. I didn't mean to give examples of General Islam.. just examples of Radicals. ~moo
  8. Actually, "Radical" Islam wishes to exterminate the "infidels", for the salvation of its believers. The Muslim religious leaders state that many many times. http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=1251789 http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=2&subID=46 http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/theism/islam/ But Rebiu, I agree with you (wow ), most of the problem with Radical Islam is the high-preachers and high-influencial religious leaders desire to take advantage of their influence. The problem is that a lot of the time, it works. I strongly suggest this movie, btw, it's very strong in its message, and quite objective (to say the least): Death in Gaza, by James Miller and Saira Shah, showing the situation in Gaza through children's eyes. Quite disturbing, but explains some of the major problems with the radical leadership and influences in some areas of the world. ~moo
  9. Amazing! You ignored our questions =again=. Surprising? Hardly. ~moo
  10. How 'bout you just answer the many questions that were posted in the different threads, instead of praising the only person who didn't ask you anything yet I agree, YT deserves all praises, all the time, but really. hehe. This is getting quite silly. People asked you questions in a civil way, ignoring your "subtle" pokes and trollings, and you just ignored all of them. I am still waiting for you to answer the pending questions, before I post you new ones. Ya know.. one step at a time. ~moo
  11. I actually really like his rock band, "Tenacious D". They're hilarious!
  12. This actually belongs in the Computer forum -- you'd get more responses there, I think But here's something I came accross, with full explanations: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/msnmessenger/pocketpc.mspx Good luck!! ~moo
  13. and in his other threads. It seems he has a knack of ignoring questions and poking "subtle" insults instead as responses. ~moo
  14. I completely - and sadly - agree with you. The problem is that you can't just throw the entirety of Islam aside. It's time to at least TRY and seperate Islam and Terrorism (which, btw, the "Muslim Council of Britain", judging by their responses to things, don't yet do that themselves, quite alarmingly). This is not going to be easy, specifically politic-wise.. ~moo
  15. I think - oh heck, I hope - he's overreacting. I would not be surprised if he isn't, though. Europe is a very good safehaven for Terrorists. It's fairly large, you can be quite mobile without the need to have complex documents with you as you travel out of borders, and it is a good link with the rest of the world in terms of trade and airports. Many terrorist cells are chosing Europe as either a base of operation, or a "branch". I had, once, an article explaining this, but I can't find it now.. I'll look it up for you guys, and post it. ~moo
  16. Can anyone, please, explain to me why does it matter how many Jews people know? Is this a proof that "Not all jews are jerks" (as the other post in the other thread - the one that was the reason of the starting of this specific thread - so blatantly suggested)? Really.. I'm proud of my heritage, and I don't mind having a fun excercise, and I don't even mind making harmless fun of myself, but this thread started out of that thread. Though the responses to the OP were fun and nice and happy and good, it seems to me that the OP's intentions were far from trying to have fun with me, it seems like it's trying to show me that "not all Jews are greedy bastards, see, see see?" which is, I'm quite annoyed to say, quite antisemetic. So. Point to this thread?
  17. I can't believe you guys are answering this.... ~moo
  18. you can name them whatever you want, but yes, those sound the most reasonable names Just, when you put the DVD later to install the game, and start from CD1, after the installation finishes the first CD, it asks you to put another, and USUALLY (I am almost certain it will ask you, I dont know about old games) it asks for an alternative location, in case it doesnt automatically find it in the drive; that's when you chose your next-in-line cd folder, and tell it to run from there. ~moo
  19. reor, don't scare me, it took me a while to take that tinfoil hat off my head! ~moo
  20. Not precisely. Photoshop is not web design per sae, it is a helper in webdesign. Web design means the structure of a page (links, menu, and such), and while you are right that php/mysql and "advanced" coding is already a web developer, photoshop is not the only tool for web design. If you work only with HTML or basic functions, you are a web designer, and you use WYSIWYG html programs with the assistance of photoshop. But I agree on the suggestion -- photoshop rules. Make sure you understand how to manipulate image size to make it as small as possible for its quality, so that it loads fast, and you have a good webpage. ~moo
  21. "Racist Card"? Well, concidering the fact I've been asking for the point of your generalization in the entire-middle-east region, without reffering myself to Jews or Arabs, I would say that there is no "Card" at all. I am not the one who threw away ethnic labling at everyone else I thought were different. You also quite skillfully ignored the rest of my post, and the rest of my OTHER posts, and only decided to poke (or try to) me with mockings and insults. I raised some questions there that I thought you should relate to. I wasnt the one ignoring them and playing the childish insult game for the sake of generalization. I didn't play any card, Rebiu. You did. Your fiasco in creating another thread, btw, just makes things quite worse in your behalf. Are you here to debate or to throw meaningless ideas into the air mixing religion with ethnicity and expecting people to smile and nod at your blatant ignorance of individuality? Not from me. Oh, by the way, your entire last sentence is completely wrong, flawed, unbased and untrue. Next time you want to finish off with a bang, support your claims with some research or something. You'd have a much better chance to appear knowledgeable. ~moo
  22. Oh, I didn't mean YOU were generalizing Israelis, I meant that it may happen that people read this and think that since he is an Israeli, he knows best of the Israeli opinion. I just thought I would point out that Israelis too differ, and that this sort of opinion is actually something that is concidered tending to the extreme. Is it true that it's extreme? That's a different question, I guess, but the "real picture" in Israel, is that there are many supporters for this type of thinking, but not NEARLY as close as the "majority". I was just trying to point it out, not to claim you were generalizing. ~moo
  23. How does this statement have ANYTHING to do with "putting a face on innocent people in the Middle East"? Oh.. wait.. Of course. It doesn't, does it. And here I thought it is going to take longer than that to shed the light on your background intentions, for an ethnic question. You have no idea about the middle east, you don't even know what countries are included in it, you pick it by ethnicity, not seeing the diversity and background of the people that reside in it, viewing them as "Middle Easterners" instead of people, insist on this label for the sake of your own self attempt to belittle a situation that existed long before you even were aware the middle east exists, and now you start throwing unbased racist generalized comments against the Jews. Oh. "The Jews". Not just the jews. "THE Jews". A Generalization that is specifically race-intended. Because, naturally, ALL the jews get six billion a year (where? who? can I have some? I'm Jewish too! I want some!) and ask for more. All of them. Everyone, because All the Jews are alike. Did I go too far repeating this? I might've. But then, I am so fed up with antisemitism, that I tend to overstress my point. Do you also speak of "The Arabs" in such a generalization aswell, Rebiu, or do you save that privilege to Jews only? Hm. Perhaps you will just shed the light yourself, like you did here. Lovely. Sometimes I'm even surprising myself. ~moo
  24. I thought you were reffering the the Middle East. What.. no Jews? See, Rebiu. If I'd start a thread saying "I want to put a face on all Capitalists in the world, so I know they are in fact innocent people and not financial man eating sharks who intend on world domination and the distruction of the individual financially imbalance person", and ask all the Americans to state their names, I would be bashed for generalizing and extreme-izing, which would be absolutely true. You keep doing the SAME with the middle east. You saying "Contribute, you must know an arab, persian or two", belittles the Middle East - the people you seem to reffer to (again, out of generalization), and sounds ethnic. You know, every time there are antisemetic incidents (in eastern europe in particular, but you see this in the rest of the world), you know the problem started with labling a person by his ethnicity and race, instead of by him being HUMAN. I know many people who were born in Iraq, Syria, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the surrounding areas. To be perfectly honest with you, I never quite thought of them as "Middle easteners". I thought of them as people. The thread seems to desire specific MIDDLE-EAST labling, and I am not so sure it is originating out of as a benign intention as you claim it is. If you speak of INNOCENT PEOPLE - they exist throughout the world. If you speak of Terrorists - they, too, exist throughout the world. If you want to see how many supporters of PEACE you have, speak of people, not of race or ethnicity. "How many peace loving people do you know" would be a good question. "How many Middle Easterners" do you know is an ethnic one. I'd ask "How many asians do you know" and I'm a racist <BEEP>. Justly. If you want to be ethnic - you're doing a heck of a job. Congrats. ecoli - as you know, I'm not quite an American long enough to know what true politically-correct definitions are, but I did come accross the statement that "saying 'black' is politically incorrect'", which is why I stated I would probably chose another expression. Didn't mean YOU are being inpolitical.. just.. well, that this is the way I thought it probably works. I was just mentioning something I thought was a bit more politically correct.. you obviously, though, know better than me , and It wasn't meant to be personally against you And guys <bows> I sencerely appreciate your support, and will concider YT's refference to bring back the webcam to be alive again. Though, unlike last time, I now have my own appartment, in which I feel a lot freer in, so, perhaps I should watch what i promise ~moo
  25. Hitler denied the church, though he was very comfortable to take atvantage of the church at the time in finding his prospected victims and bringing them into the death camps. He declared himself an atheist, and claimed he goes by science to prove the Aryan race was superior, through twisting the theory of evolution to fit his goals (the strongest prevail..). He mocked the idea of church, and claimed that ""The government of the Reich ... regards Christianity as the unshakable foundation of the morals and moral code of the nation." (here is one place I saw it quoted). However, his views on the Aryanism actually was derived of religion (which is specifically ironic), since his claims were that the Aryan race was the only one designed purely by god. God was "in the blood" of the Aryan, Hitler claimed, not represented by a church. Though I wouldn't suggest reading it without a tutor (it is a very difficult book, in all terms) here is a page that quotes from Hitler's "Mein Kampf": http://www.mtfreethinkers.org/essays_stories/religion/adolph_hitler.htm Here are a few articles I found out of a very quick search in google: http://www.boundless.org/2001/regulars/kaufman/a0000541.html http://www.bede.org.uk/hitler.htm http://constitutionalistnc.tripod.com/hitler-leftist/nazchris.html ~moo
