yeah Sayo, but I'm trying to find the WAY to find if they were inserted correctly or not, not the way to present them to my users. But yeah its a good idea to do in general as a debugging tool. Thanks Dave!!! I'll go check it out. btw did you know PHP's origin is israel, and that's why it has a few special Hebrew commands (like something like hebdevc() or something like that)... is that cool or WHAT! ha, I'm probly the only hebrew speaking person here so I'm prtobly the only one who finds it kool.. but still hehe thanks guys ~moo

Anyone knows how I can make sure a record is actually inserted properly into the mySQL database through PHP ? I remember there's something like "Records Affected" in ASP but I have no idea what it is in PHP, so far i'm doing it in the long and idiotic way of extracting them from the DB again to make sure its inserted properly ... anyone ? ~moo

thought so. So nothing else ? damn. No SMALL friendly firewalls that only meant to prevent "small" hackers from getting into my computer? how... annoying.

ROFL I will read 'em when I have the time. But if i do that, I'm "cracking" my own firewall, aren't I? How's BlackICE by the way? Stupid or helpful? ~moo

Like you, I'm also agnostic. I doubt practically everything I do believe in life on other planets. Note: believe in LIFE in other planets. Not even just the possibility. I find it extremely illogical to think there AREN'T any life out there in such a huge infinite expanding universe. HOWEVER I strongly doubt they look like us. Even a little. Most of the UFO stories tell about green/gray little creatures with legs, hands, huge eyes and massive brains, probably two, three or fifteen fingers, clumsy legs, and so on. Those, I strongly doubt. Why? Well.. a few reasons: 1. I actually believe life is not only what we define. Life can be energy like. Life can be a "thought" lifeform. Life can also be something we can't possibly comprehend, like you said yourself. 2. I think about the vast universe, and the time it exists (according to today's science, of course), and I think that there's a muuuuuch much bigger possibility that if life came here they would be looking A LOOOTTTTTT different than us, since the possibility of life that look like us (hands/heads/eyes/legs..) actually existing relatively close enough to us to reach us in such short time (even if they found a way to travel faster than life, odds are we will encounter other life forms first) is slim. I'm not saying a definite no. It *may* be, I haven't spent all my time actually getting into ALL the details of EVERY UFO encounter, but in my opinion, it's less plausible. Furthermore, if ou notice, most of the stories are almost the SAME. That, granted, can say they're talking bout things that actually happened -- BUT they can also tell legends. If you take 100 people that survived the same fire, each would tell you a COMPLETELY different story (what they've seen, what they felt, how it started, who got out first... yadda yadda). Even if those things happened to all those people, I find it weird they ALL tell the EXACT same story. Different people should have had different approaches... I don't know.. it's.. weird. In any case, I also find the entire UFO case interresting. It doesn't matter if those are actual aliens or some covert experiments with weird air-crafts that the government is doing (all hail x-files!! ) - either way it's interresting to find out what the hell those things are So good post, but to sum it up (my opnion anyways) - There should be life out there, but UFOs aren't necessarily it ~moo

WOW you're fast Yeah I know theres no bullet proof, hehe but concidering the fact that I doubt anyone would SERIOUSLY try extremely hard to hack my computer, I'm just looking for a simple enough program.. not even talking about hardware, we're not a big business with truely classified information, and we don't have much time messing with one. I know it's the best SECURITY solution, no doubt, but I am trying to find a solution that would be enough against simple hacks (like password trojans, stealing documents and such) without being too heavy on the system or on my young brain Take int acount my dad knows NOTHING about firewalls. Or Ports. I don't want to come running whenever he can't load a site or a net program. There's gotta be a simple one out there..... thanks ~moo

I don't trust completely in the USA I'm just saying this specific "hoax" story sounds fabricated to the last letter of it. 'sides, I seriously don't find a reason to doubt this one so hard.. even if it *was* a hoax, the CURRENT space shuttles aren't. It's not like this hoax affects the entire space program everywhere. I have better things to doubt ~moo

Yah, and it steals tons of RAM and it slows the computer and its taking the entire OS hostage. I like the symantec antivirus, but their internet security is ANNOYING.. I tried it and got really tired of it jumping up every time some pimply nerd scans my ip address (which as you all know happens to everyone a lot). And it slowed my comp to almost an entire halt. I admire you for continuing using it I got real tired of it. Say, are all the firewalls like that!? isn't there ONE program that can relatively protect my computer from hackings WITHOUT stealing the entire RAM and acting like a computer-god ? ~moo

Hi hi again to all, Well. We've recently upgraded my home computer (actually it's a 3 comp network) to ADSL 1.5Megs. Since my dad is concidered to be a business, the best way that my ISP offered him was using a static IP (they do that to all business clients). Now. My dad did that, but then got panicked when people told him that with a static IP it's easier to hack into the computer. I find that utterly annoying and rediculous. Everyone knows that if someone wants to hack inside a comp, he can do that regardless of static or dynamic IP. BUT, go argue with daddy. Err Anyways we have a router with built-in firewall, but I *hate* it. It's not all that user friendly, and it just blocks most of the ports and I can't even go into my own webpage control panel with that thing on. So the question is this: Does anyone know of any GOOD firewall (the kind that is easy enough to handle so I won't have to run to the computer everytime my dad gets stuck) and powerful enough to truely avoid hackings and trojan "password jacking" and all those... and yet (here's the catch, and the reason I hate firewalls) a program that is NOT annoying and not stopping you from surfing 'cause every 4 seconds someone else is trying to scan your IP. Err. I know its a lot to ask for from a firewall, mostly those things are BUILT to be annoying - which makes one wonder what he preffers. Annoyance or security. Help please? Thanks! ~moo

You surely can't expect a flag that is being held on ONE side (by the pole) to be completely plaque-like in its posture.. they hanged it on the pole and dropped it. The flag wasn't flapping, it was just standing there a bit wrinkled. Also, take into acount that there *is* gravity on the moon. The edges of the flag could have naturally bent down. Those claims usually are being said about the PICTURES not the tape. In the tape you see clearly that the flag is not flapping. The pictures - since the flag is not completely ironed and entirely straight - it *looks* like its flapping. But if you got into that one, heck, there's no end. How 'bout those claims about the changing shadows of the astronauts? there are so many claims about this.. and most of them are solved quite easily if you REALLY look at those tapes and pictures, and not trust someone else who shows you. Most of the pictures that are being used to "prove" this conspiracy are leading and bad-angled ones. Look at 'em all, you see it's true. In any case, I never really understood the point of this conspiracy. It's a known fact we can reach space, we've done it quite a lot after that time. Why would anyone want to claim otherwise so fiercely with such conspiracy theories, is beyond me. In any case, that's what I have to say about the theory Good question though, it bothered me too 'till I just went to the library and looked at the entire movie. You find all the answers (well most of 'em) like that ~moo

iglak - this is exactly the reason why I'd rather believe in the "strings timelines" ;p much easier than going paradoxy all over And Sayonara - I agree about the grammar thing. I am not sure I understood the other thing you said about paradoxes so I htink I'll just have to wait for next week. ~moo

Time has no reason to be skewed, you didn't "touch" it. If you'd meet yourself, time shouldnt get skewed either. You probably would, though. And assuming your friend lit the TV on "time" (20 minutes before he knew he should), everything should be normal and dandy up to the point you meet yourself and get a heart attack, which in fact causes you to NOT go back to the past and therefore not meet yourself and.. and... you get it. My opinion is that time won't be affected. I strongly believe in the "time strings" thing (Assuming time travel is possible, which is a whole different discussion), which means that if you go back to the past you don't change your OWN reality, you create a parallel one (like in "Back to the Future"), otherwise you fall into REALLY insane paradoxes (like the one i said with meeting yourself, not getting back to the past and so on and so on). Time shouldn't be affected. I'd make sure I find a solution to how I am not meeting myself, AND not being "doubled" by going back to the past. That could be... bad ;p ~moo

Gotcha. Thanks, that makes much more sense now. ~moo

That's a really cool poster... before I buy one though does anyone know if there's anything similar to this in a web picture for free? (smaller is good too). thanks..

True. I must say that I doubt this will ever go to them. In israel we have many holocaust survivors, and the state is doing a LOT to concider their feelings and traumas. If we take into acount that in israel it's prohibited from sounding music of specific german writers in NATIONAL events, *and* that the israeli train took long to build because the debate was how to make sure it doesn't remind people of the death trains, i'd say this discussion about the results would probably fall. But that's *my* opinion, based on my knowledge of holocaust survivors (half my family), and the entire delicate subject, and I agree with you completely Glider. I won't presume to speak for them. We should just make sure that they ARE asked *and* that even after there aren't many of them left (which is starting to be the case even today), that we won't take hasty decisions even if they're not around to give their individual opinions. ~moo

I work with CodeGenie, it's AWSOME and it also recognizes different scripts so it can light script-specific words like "while", "do" and such. It's awsome, and its simple. http://www.code-genie.com/cgenie.html that's the official homepage, check it out. ~moo

ahh wow true , sheesh thanks!! <goes to make sure>

That's exactly the reason why I think it shouldn't be used. No matter what you did - they died in vain. IF you say that if we use the info then they HAVENT died in vain, you're in fact giving meaning to the actions that caused their deaths. They're MURDERS. That was my point. (btw this isn't personally against you sorry if it sounds a bit 'brutal' i am just trying to pass my point) ~moo

Other than that, most odds are you don't KNOW how to inject properly. Without getting into the obvious risks of non-sterile needles (even if you're the first user it can be non sterile if you don't know HOW to do it), toxics that get into the body and may harm things you don't even know exists deep there, theres also many more problems of - like - say - an air bubble, which will kill you. Dude.. don't. ~moo

Ms. DNA -- SHHHH!!!! Now we have to kill them.. Oh well.. where's my left-handed knife? ~moo

No one knows, people assume scientifically. It is still the mystery of the universe. There are a lot of theories about the big bang. Maybe what threw you to the "Star" thing was that there's a theory about the universe "starting" from a tiny dot that was made of all the matter in the univserse -- exploding. SOMERTHING LIKE the reverse of a black hole. No one is sure, there are a lot of theories, but the leading thought is that since time is one of space's dimentions, it was probably MADE by it, therefore saying "before" the big bang means nothing. Time was CREATED by the big bang. Another theory states that the big bang happened after an "older" previous universe (much like our own) had collapsed. The same people who state that theory also say that it may happen to our own universe aventually. But to get the basics on the big bang I'd have to repeat what blike said and suggest you'll go google it hope that helped a little.. ~moo

Magnetic field... what is it?
mooeypoo replied to losfomot's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Yah I thought you meant those.. and sorry I misread (err.. i can't seem to figure how, but.. appearantly I either did or I am stupid ;p ) wel... yah don't comment hehehe thanks, MrL, you're right, oops sorry. ~moo -
NSX If I got your words right, then the episode you're talking about was about SPLITTING the "rikers". They found a wreck place and when riker was about to lead the away team they found out that "another" riker is already down there... what happened in that epi is that they both got beamed down a few years before (on other sort of mission at the same place) - and when they were beamed up, somerthing happened (explosion) --- the transporter already took a reading of riker's body to "beam" up -- so it created him on the ship, while the explosion actually kept the "down the planet" riker still alive... good epi. It was more the point of transporters disessembling / reassembling the body,, ~moo
