  1. I am too, I've read it's quite rare......Or maybe they just feed you that to make you feel unique or something ...lol
  2. Yea, that math is quite easy....Anyone know if it is best to take calculus in highschool or wait until college?
  3. Yea, I'll have to think about that. Usually if I get an answer and I see it as an option I assume it's correct.
  4. In your opinion and mine too, but most colleges don't seem to think so lol....
  5. No thats definitely not it. My school is small, but it is one of the best ones in the area. That wouldn't make sense anyway, there are plenty of people in my school who do well.
  6. Well I'm between both of you, 470. I'd like it to be over 600. I went back and wrote down all the ones I got wrong when my test was returned and 11 of the ones I got wrong I figured out after looking at them again like they were cake.....Maybe I'm just not good at standardized math tests. Oh well, I'm going to start attempting to remember my math operations better, and I think i'll be purchasing one of those books shortly.
  7. Most of the time I think I know what I am doing. Only rarely do I have no idea.
  8. My usual average in my math classes is 95-97. I take a test like the psat or a state assessment test and I do HORRIBLE on my math section. I score lower than people who get 80's in their math classes. This makes absolutely no sense to me and I am completely frustrated. Is anyone else on here like me? Anyone have any insight as to why I score so low? By the way I do perfectly fine on other sections of the tests. I usually score in the top 95 percentile. Comments appreciated, thanks
  9. Humans are naturally curious. We're not happy that the sun is going to blow up, but we still think it's nice to know. I might've answered that incorrectly, but I wasn't quite sure what you meant. Do you mean "Bob cheated on Jane" and Bob hears Jane did something bad to him so he wants to find out?
  10. Just how important is a mathematics background and how often is mathematics used in the medical field?
  11. Well, then I'm out of luck, as this is my first year of chemistry, and frankly we're only two chapters in, unless someone on here would like to tutor me in their free time then I have no idea what to do lol.
  12. Can't I just use the equation for specific heat to find mass and convert it into liters?
  13. The ice is starting at 0 degrees celsius and it is going to be heated to 37 degrees celsius. I was told to use the specific heat of water for ice.....unless that's wrong? 4.186......
  14. If you want to use 3500 kilocalories of energy to heat up ice using body temperature how much water would you need? I got 22.5 liters, and I'm not sure if it's right or not. Your help is appreciated thanks
  15. I strongly disagree. A gorilla is ALOT stronger than your average human........For one their bite force is I dunno about 10-15 times stronger than your average person and they can snap a piece of bamboo a foot in diameter with ease using their arms. I just saw all of this on a show about gorillas recently. I'd like to see a human do any of that.
  16. That's what I figured......I take it those bodies have been preserved so sticking your hands in formaldehyde or whatever they used probably isn't intelligent. It's a carcinogen isn't it?
  17. Well I hope he washed his hands before he went and ate:cool:. Is it normal not to use gloves?
  18. In chemistry I recently did a lab showing how temperature relates to the pressure of a gas. We used what I believe was called a Gay-Lussac device. It was placed in water which was heated and then the pressure of the gas inside the device was measured. We estimated absolute zero with the data we got and our estimate was -276. My question is if the gas temperature inside the device wasn't the same as the water temperature how would this affect the measure of absolute value and if the sphere in which the gas was contained expanded how would this affect the estimate of absolute zero. Hopefully I explained that well enough.......I really appreciate your replies. thanks
  19. Headaches aren't always caused by dehydration though. I get headaches when I don't get my caffeine fix.
  20. It's called an ulnar nerve, not sure if you made a typo or not? It runs along the ulna bone.
  21. Hmm I was searching on google, and I found an article claiming that infantile depression is linked to SIDS. So perhaps it can lead to death?
  22. I believe nazis performed experiments in which they put people into vacuums.

    Books

I am thinking of buying the book called professional guide to signs and symptoms and professional guide to diseases, they have them on amazon.com if you'd like to look at them.
  24. I was wondering if a baby were to be fed, and kept healthy, but did not receive interaction from the parents, how would this affect the baby? Someone once told me that the baby can become depressed and actually die......I find it hard to believe, but is there any credibility?
