Welcome. What is the action it performs ? Electrical input to linear servo output ? Anything hydraulic in it ? Purely mechanic ? Size ? ยฟ? What can I use to remove clutch linings from steel ?
Externet replied to Tornado220's topic in Engineering
Welcome. That adhesion method and strength is what makes brakes and friction bands reliable. If a wimpier adhesive method was used, failures would be too frequent. So use an agressive method to remove such. I like grinding wheels, and less aggressive are sanding disks. Sandblasting should work too. Have you compared the amount of time and work of removal/reline against purchasing a new replacement part ? -
Hi studiot. That link took me to several others and saw/learned about impressive whiskers formation; for sure unexpected when equipment was built decades ago. Thank you !

Greetings. A LED emitter can have a long life. Even longer if underdriven from specifications. Asking for an educated guess... A LED designed to operate on 1 Watt of power, if energized to 1/10W; would it last 10 years ? 100 years ? Same question if it is a laser diode.

Thanks. Seems then the sudden heating of air from the spark expands the air and the 'crack' sound wave produces the shaking of the spheres. Acoustic motor ๐ like windows in thunder.

Hi. Another video ๐ but short and no need to see it all; just time stamp 0:30 shows the spheres shaking. How is the spark producing forces ? I could imagine if they where suspended, the motion would show greater. ----> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8704VbBKbw

Thank you, swansont. Agree with the direct path to ground. The explanation at the beginning with the charged cloud? layering sketched at a certain height is not as convincing as the demonstration at time stamp 4:15 ----> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhu5pIrPw7U (it is worth seeing, not a waste of time) The NASA launch pad may show a concept malfunction, if strikes prefer the rocket : When surrounded by lightning rod poles. Something is not making sense, besides the unpredictability of the phenomena.

Hi, good day to all. Two identical houses (materials, height, shape) are next to each other but only one has a lightning rod installed. Other houses in the immediate neighborhood have no lightning rods. A block north, and a block south, and a block east and at a block west there is houses with lightning rods installed. An electric storm is more probable to strike the lightning rod on the house that has one or the roof on the identical next to it ? In other words, a lightning rod attracts and conducts electrical strikes to ground or forms a zone that prevents the lightning from striking ?

I need some help figuring out if this study is flawed
Externet replied to sadpatato-897's topic in Biology
Hi StringJunky. Support? it is a factual radio frequency. A microwave oven cooks cells with 2.4GHz. WiFi emits 2.4GHz at much lower power level; but is there all the time. Unsure if I prefer a leaky oven a few minutes a day or a weak emission at all times. Supporting the other part; the priority pursuit of lazyness and comforts by the modern way of living is obvious. ๐คจ -
I need some help figuring out if this study is flawed
Externet replied to sadpatato-897's topic in Biology
Just wait until someone else does another study pointing to the more dangerous WiFi 2.4GHz radiofrequency flooding 24/7 almost every house+office because of the comfort and lazyness to plug an ethernet cable instead. -
DNS error... ethernet connected, no internet :-(
Externet replied to Externet's topic in Computer Help
Thank you, Sensei. Not ignoring you at all. The delay to check all your suggestions obeys to a desire to test another thing first. Ordered another USB to ethernet adapter and been waiting almost a week: the mailman just brought it minutes ago. Internet works now on both computers, Linux and Chromebook simultaneously with the same kind of adapter. Am watching France24 news and posting this. Both 1Gb adapters are now equal brand and model : The trouble 'evidence' of using different brand/model adapters is beyond my understanding. Am returning this 1Gb bought at a local "Bestbuy" store : And this mail ordered : and have three older of these used years ago going to the spider web box if anyone needs them : The use of adapter is because newer laptops do not include LAN jacks on their push for all wifi. Served myself a double Bourbon; -happy- ๐ฅ -
Thank you. Does the above mean coagulation is promoted or deterred ?

At the beginning, about every health related person had an opinion on how to cure the pandemic. I stopped reading all claims that crossed in front of me. By chance, another came in front of me yesterday that decided to read, claiming deaths are caused by lung trombosis; and that treatment ought to be blood thinners and not the way it has been done so far. Occurs to me that a good probing method would be to count how many have died while being on blood thinning medication. Is there such a statistic that can be evaluated ? I have been on such medication for a few years after a coronaries procedure and had no covid symptoms at all while living a nearly unrestricted life. -Please do not bury all related posts into one megathread-

This variant found in England recently this year, should be named -20; or there is a reason why not; or waiting to make it later as Covid-21 ? ๐

Nothing sensitive. Sorry but I have half a brain left if that much and splitting that into attention to two persons leaves almost nothing to both... ๐ After a few minutes, nothing reported : -

Thank you, Ghideon. Am using Ubuntu 18.04 at the computer on RJ45-1. I can open its terminal and operate it well. Not always interpret all it says, but I can use it. The new Chromebook on RJ45-2 is the one evading me from finding its terminal. Perhaps has to be downloaded/installed yet. A hanging question is if two USB-to-ethernet adapters in the same network cause conflict. (One on computer 1; one on Chromebook). As manufacturers trend is to eliminate optical drives, hard drives, replaceable memory, ethernet jacks in favor of all wifi/cloud/throwaway forcing the use of adapters... -

Thanks, studiot.. My 'smart' phone is never used to play on the internet, only used as telephone + whatsup with the telephony provider service only and no home wireless to it. Went to the store, bought another USB-to-ethernet adapter similar to the pictured one. Same "no internet" prompt. Will dig deeper into the misbehavior and get the sledge hammer ready... -

Externet replied to Externet's topic in Computer Help
Thanks, studiot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You say you have nothing wifi equipped in your house. Are you quite sure? The gateway (modem) has its wireless feature disabled by the service provider by contract. Even if you have 'disabled' it on the Chromebook, won't it will still be live inside ? Its wifi and bluetooth are off by selected choice in network settings menu. Some modern televisions have internal wifi as well as Ethernet connections. Mine gets the programming from ethernet RJ45-3 ----->tuner*----->HDMI, old to have any network. Same with printers, scanners, doorbells and other auxiliary devices. My printer is still in its sealed carton, no others. Printers with wifi and ethernet are often a pain to get working on the right network. That will be pain for a future day. If you have such a printer is the chromebook trying to set itself to the printer's own local network and fighting itself if you want to use the router ? Printer is disabled at the Chromebook settings. Do you have a 'firestick' or other interface between tv and home network ? No firestick, * it is another wired animal : ----> https://www.ebay.com/itm/X96-Mini-TV-Box-Android-7-1-2-S905W-Quad-Core-WiFi-HD-2GB-16GB-4K-Media-Player/233493321077?hash=item365d495575:g:B0EAAOSwU2BeRD4- -

Poking, resetting, changing parameters, trying other servers, cycling power of all devices in different sequences... the Linux computer on Rj45-1 ended impaired too. No internet for a couple of days, unable to post. Interestingly, the internet television tuner on the RJ45-3 was always able to work fine. Removed the RJ-45-2 Ethernet-to-USB adapter below from the Chromebook and restored functionality on this, the Linux unit. Posting the progress. Seems the adapter is flaky or kaput. Worked fine just for a few days. -
