Hi. The spring loaded button under, when pushed, releases the tension of strings that keeps the puppet standing up. A 3D printer would not re-create the bladder balloon inside that under vacuum collapses releasing the strings... better buy the push button puppet and install a bladder instead... Was looking for its name, vendor, if they exist now. Just nostalgic.

Hi. By ~1960, dad installed a wooden donkey on his VW dash. Collapsed and stood by engine vacuum. Similar to the 'push button' puppets that I can only find; as searches with the 'vacuum' term in english default to 'vacuum cleaner' Looked like the yellow based, without the under button, but a hose to the engine intake instead. Do they exist somewhere now ?

Thank you, Markus. Perhaps 'end of charging has been reached - the charger can be disconnected now' As 'battery is fully charged' would imply the indicator could come on even while not connected to the charger or the receiver not even turned on, as long as the battery is fully charged. Just trying to read between lines... At least fully clears the doubt that is not related to tuning.

Thank you. Let's see if I got something from it.... Electrolysis of seawater at say 2.5 Volts will deposit a mixture of all items under 2.51 V electrode potential onto the electrodes. If the seawater has depleted of those by a long enough process; electrodes replaced with new ones, and the process started again at 3.0 V; The group between 2.5V and 3.0V will be deposited onto the clean new electrodes ?
-
Hi. Somewhere I read that electrolysis deposits collected on electrodes depend from the elements available in suspension and the voltage used. How was that ? Can someone explain or direct to a link to learn ? Does it mean that a 0.1Volt potential can deposit/separate perhaps one or a few elements; 0.5 V yields some additional more; 1V gets even more ? Where to find a table that relates voltage used for electrolysis and elements deposited ?

Maaaany years ago, I encountered a sort of incomplete domain on the net. Today, I saw a similar situation of a domain (.co) behaving like a monopoly. What are they doing, why, is it legal ? Check this search results, multiple addresses or sites directing to same subscription request. ----> https://www.google.com/search?q=intek+v+twin+wiring+schematic&client=ubuntu&hs=MDq&channel=fs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjQ_sfVloLeAhVQwlkKHbaHC-wQ_AUIDygC&biw=1366&bih=549 Choose images if not images; at least the different ".co" shown behave the same. What is going on ?

A magnet fitted with long, straight, parallel pole pieces; will it have a constant field between them, near or distant from the magnet ? ================================================================== N magnet S ================================================================== A piece of iron placed at the middle of length or placed at the far right will attach with the same force ?

Hi all. -Please move if there is a proper nutrition/food section- Is the sugar content in food labels a constituent or an added ingredient ? Random example : ----> https://www.motts.com/products/100-juice/motts-100-original-apple-juice If it is 100% juice from crushed apples, and is showing 28 grams of sugar per serving, it is not added sugar as in a soda, but natural sugars in the fruit, figures obtained from chemical analysis. Right ? Now; which is the type of sugar promoting obesity ? Sucrose, dextrose, glucose, fructose, galactose... And which one does not promote obesity ? Do recommendations of eating a number of fruit servings daily (contain sugars) go somewhat against obesity prevention ?

Hi. It has not changed much for centuries. Can there be a more ingenious, efficient way with modern technology ? The mechanical separation of heavier metals by vibration immersed in water, by a weight differential that also exists in dry process smells that could be improved. The weight differential when dry and the weight differential when submerged is there in both cases. What would be the process for evaluating efficiency ? Running the discarded material on a different process to confirm obtains additional separation ? Seems like laminar flow is important, but the fluid flow being used to carry the undesired solids destroys the laminar flow. How is the separation technique of metals with not much specific gravity differential related to its bearing ore soils ? ----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placer_mining#/media/File:De_re_metallica_p_282.jpg Would electrostatic attraction be applicable in dry ?

Thank you, Prometheus. "Filling"... hmmm... Could the green at middle mean something like 'tuned' or 'receiving' or 'station present' or 'active channel' or 'squelch open' or 'unsquelched' ?

Looking for suggestions for an experiment about plants and light.
Externet replied to lucks_021's topic in The Lounge
Plants and light has been well studied. I would toss other innovative influences like AC, DC electrical currents in soil and on plants, radiowaves, magnetic fields, gases, chemicals, partial vacuum, acoustics, centrifuge, common/uncommon liquids as irrigation, atmospheric pressures; combinations of the above, and document its effects. At least there is no laws and protective entities about torturing plants... yet. Try to invent a lawn grass that grows only to 3cm and does not need mowing... It has always been in my list... -
Not wire reel, not reel to reel, not eight track, not elcaset, not compact cassette. Seems indented for a pinch roller. What was this called ?
-
Thanks... Tendons then. From related reading, it resembles that 'definition'. Coincides at least with dehydration, (wringable clothing from sweating by abusing my body.) No, it is not caused by a cramp (I know that on my legs when scuba diving; abrupt pain for a minute or two) with no lingering effects. It has no immediate symptoms, shows only after ending the awkward position/effort for ~2 weeks. Perhaps it is known as 'old fart age.' OK, will not dig a trench sitting in the 1m crawling space at 31C again...
-
Hi. What may be the name for it ? Happens frequently to me when overexerting muscles in awkward positions, mostly twisting torso/waist while sitting on floor and exerting lots of muscle force. Pain lasts over a week, very slowly fading and typically side of thorax. Like a ligament/muscle ruptures, shifts position. Trying to read more about it with the proper name.

Hi. Stuck with mental farts on how to make a graphical decision chart, for using thermal switches. Suggestions please ? Perhaps someone lucid has done it ? Attic temperature can vary -20C to +50C along the year. Exterior ambient temperature can vary -20C to +40C along the year. Desired temperature in dwelling 15C to 25C , outside that range, energizing HVAC system is allowed. Bidirectional fans located at boundaries attic/living area ; living area/exterior. Thermometers/thermostats located in the three locations (attic, exterior, living area) to command fans for the correct air flow direction to avoid energizing HVAC. Example : If exterior ambient is 10C; attic air is 22C, living area is 12C, energize fan flow from attic towards living quarters and no action from fan between exterior-to-living. There will be many variables along the day, time, season and weather to affect the decisions, and the limits when to stop fanning.

Can someone explain details of this seawater car ?
Externet replied to Externet's topic in Engineering
Thanks. OK, not salty water, but a chemicals soup. If it works, and if creating the soup does not take more energy to produce than it delivers. And refills would mean also collection of the 'spent' soup. I would guess that if such technology was developed, the first products would be not in a vehicle but standalone generators... -
Hi. If works in a vehicle; where else is it being used to generate energy ? ----> https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2739768/The-sports-car-runs-SALTWATER-Vehicle-goes-0-60mph-2-8-seconds-just-approved-EU-roads.html

- Does the amount of moisture mass in a hurricane influences its momentum, making it harder to change direction ? - The change in ambient temperature from day to night 'fuels' more or less the energy of a hurricane ? (as to late during the day mostly gaining energy )

Hi. Measuring a person blood pressure; with the sphygmomanometer cuff on the arm at heart level showing 120mm Hg. What is the expected reading if the person raises the cuffed arm fully to a level 400mm above the heart level ?
-
Yes, that was the first search result I opened. Surprising. Still cannot believe the efficiency part...
-
Yes, saw that explanation; but Irish are not the only ones dealing with rough seas; never seen tribes from Oceania rowing for centuries using anything similar. Oars are aimed to be light, efficient, paddle areas/surfaces to match average muscles.
