  1. Well, yes, StringJunky. That is the only kind of error, human error. Same error as not implementing isolating computers with vital/private records. See a good degree of laziness here. Mr. Microcrap is not the only office program. But it is easier (less work) for managers to decide/buy that software instead of safe others that do not have to be on-line. If the preference is not to put efforts preventing mishaps, then, let their systems go belly-up and hopefully go bankrupt. The sad part is the ones that decided to do the least amount of preventive work still get their fat checks. Thanks again to my Linux OS for giving me peace.
  2. Hi. I understand the malicious infections getting into computers. I do not understand why a XYZ corporation has to be in risk/ exposed to the net perils in order to conduct business and preserve sanity. All the files for the operation of a corporation, their designs, their development documents, their personnel files, sales records, data, products, payrolls and many more internal documentation of daily activity. Why do they have to be in the same computers/net with internet access ? Not saying to pull the net plug, but having NO PLUG at all ! A totally isolated internal workings. When there is need to access the web, well, another physical system of computers to be used. What hurdles would such internal-only totally isolated network pose, with zero anti-viral software ? Am missing something here...
  3. ... If both bullets being compared have the same mass, volume and shape.
  4. It has worked for centuries, no complications, retractable, or fixed, or hinged, or removable... ----> https://duckduckgo.com/?q=awning&t=canonical&iax=1&ia=images
  5. Thank you ! Perfect : ----> http://www.chessvariants.com/shogi.dir/kasparov/bild05.jpg No brain left for learning more languages...
  6. Pieces printed or shaped as their corresponding titles, with no japanese writing; have you seen one or does it exist in the market ?
  7. Thanks for educating me; again. I was reading the following a few days ago and perhaps got it wrong. Only the reciprocal is per m. ? Is this accurate ? :
  8. Seawater presents about 0.25 ohms per metre. (cubic?) or 4 mho/m
  9. Yes, AC and DC current flows very well in seawater. And kills all life in its path, quickly. Once I put into the sea the ground (work) electrode from an arc welder machine on a pier just to see if the metal hulled boat having welds done with only the rod terminal passed on board. Was not strong enough, but performed without rising the amperage control. Electrolytic corrosion/erosion will happen anyway.
  10. Tampering with the ventilation system or its electricals can trigger warranty issues, or failures, for those who care. And takes studying the service manual for each vehicle to disassembly , modify and reassembly correctly. Adding an independent solar powered ventilation may have advantages as reversability.
  11. Instead of perforating, modifying a roof and ceiling and baffles and rain and reupholstering and... A solar panel by the package tray under the rear windshield -or front- can power a duct fan evacuating hot air into the trunk which is usually implemented with flap vent valves that allow closing the rear trunk without increasing pressure. Other places in a vehicle are suitable also to discharge hot air. Allowing exterior air to get in has to be evaluated by checking at which position the levers and controls for HVAC leave a passage open. Vehicles have useable disguised vents at several places ----> https://duckduckgo.com/?q=c+pillar+vent+&t=canonical&iax=1&ia=images
  12. It has been invented; it is in the aftermarket. I have one. It is wimpy but works... barely. A beefier one or several should do well. ----> https://duckduckgo.com/?q=solar+car+ventilation+fan&t=canonical&iax=1&ia=images Hangs on the edge of the glass, Has its drawbacks as for lazy people to remove them when they want fully shut/open windows. Improve it and put it on the market.
  13. Everything that I know of can be done pressing buttons these days; from planting a seed to launch a rocket to the moon.
  14. You have not told much about specifications other than cheap -which means nothing; small -which means nothing, Kinda big... What is your target size ? What pressure do you need ? The automotive suspension pump I have is around 8cm diameter x 15cm long. I have another less than a cubic inch, but no specifications. There is the tire inflating gadgets; noisy. There is the aquarium bubbling pumps, ... Smaller ones ----> https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20170610113817&SearchText=air+pump+sphygmomanometer
  15. At a wreck yard, you can find the pump/compressor used in some vehicles to level suspension for few $. Got one from a Cadillac and is capable of 100 psig; if fits your needs. Cannot tell its flow rate, works with 12 V and very quiet.
  16. Thank you. Concentration as titled may not be the precise word as suspected; perhaps magnification or as suggested, constructive interference, or some other proper term. Sound waves are forced to follow a specific direction in both funneled directions. What differs ? How is the constructive interference isolated/'singled out' in a way that the destructive antinodes in the funnel have no effect ? OK, agreed for increasing power. Without adding energy, an electrical audio transformer that matches impedances does provide passive amplification of amplitude, at the expense of attenuating its current magnification. The power is nearly sustained except for transformer losses. Please correct.
  17. Coincidentally, earlier today I saw this, felt like worth posting :
  18. Is the title right ? How do wavefronts increase their amplitude trough a funnel ? The inlet area ratio to the outlet area produces a louder signal, obviously, as these things worked a long ago. What about the effect of its length - which relates to the angle ? If a soundwave gets amplified entering the wide end and exiting the narrow end; what is the effect in the opposite direction ? Is the wide end flaring an empirical/cosmetic shape ?
  19. Do not attempt a dual loading/operating/booting hard drive Windows and Linux. Any hard drive containing Windows will manage in time, to infect Linux or whatever else co-resides. Use one hard drive for each operative system. And any extra hard drive for backup data only with no O.S. ; that can be USB ported. The drives not in use kept unplugged. Yes, that means getting under the hood. If you are working with Word; shut the internet very off.
  20. Hi. Trying to find if there is in the market a mechanism that holds a string under pulling force by pinching and releases it by a solenoid or lever. Or an off the shelf device/gadget that can be re-purposed. String wound ------------------------pinching mechanism------------------------>20 Newton pulling force in a bobbin ^release solenoid^ Have you seen such in everyday items ? Sort of clothesline extender, window blind or something alike... Just trying to reuse instead of re-invent/design. If possible plastic, or non-corroding. Not self-rewinding as a measuring tape.
  21. A very serious hydraulic pump may reach those serious pressures. If there is air above the surface of the hydraulic fluid, you may reach those serious air pressures by using a hydraulic pump. If the proper fluid does not self-ignite ! A serious container of guessing 3 inches wall perhaps can contain 20000psi Scuba air compressors will not go beyond 4500psi. Scuba tanks are for 3000psi and their wall is around 0.5" at most. Do your calculations on the volume of air that the car motor needs per revolution; the volume of air before compressing that fitted in the reservoir, and you will know how many blocks can run.
  22. When young, I used to have intense abdominal pain when - I went to the movies. By the seating position in that particular seat shape, or whatever. - When jogging or racing. Nothing serious or never to pay enough attention, always subsided in a few minutes. Did you experience any similar pain ? I cannot remember having the same after appendectomy around age 20. Any relation ??
  23. Ben88012 : Can you please let me know what equipment did you use to compress air to 5000 psi and can/plan to reach 10000 - 20000 psi ?
  24. Thanks. Yes, less weight is less friction for competitive steering; and can become airborne in straightways after losing traction.
  25. Leave the mass alone, please.
