In middle/late nineties, I frequented several forums long gone now. Cannot remember their exact website names. Is there a method to find if their contents are kept somewhere ? Am after MSN forums for sixties Cadillacs; and Popular Electronics, ElectronicsNow forums. Any suggestions/help will be appreciated.

5 years ago, I convinced myself I was doing it right; or at least better than using weed killer chemicals by lightly spraying gasoline localized on the leaves of unwanted weeds, or a couple of drops into the center were young leaves emerge. Which kills them quickly and very dead. Fully evaporates and does not drip into the soil. Those dandelions cannot resist the octanes. Would that be right ? Can there be any concerning traces in gasoline that do not evaporate that may be as bad or worse than massive commercial/gardening weed killers washed by rain into aquifers ?

Senselessly inefficient approach. The artificial light uses more energy than the panel will produce from it. ----> http://sargosis.com/how-shade-affects-a-solar-array/

Watching television news works. Reading the lyrics while listening music works surprisingly well to sharpen the ear. Reading material of a subject you are familiar/expert-in works. A good experienced teacher works. Leaving fear and shame aside and converse even if poorly at the beginning works. Discarding deformed language speakers to learn properly works. (You must not attempt to learn Spanish from a typical Mexican)

Does pore speeling sygnifeye ignorense?
Externet replied to iNow's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
Wait a moment. There are two situations to be differentiated here. A goofy writer masks results when autocorrected or checked by a program. But still a goofy writer. And perceived by a reader as 'intelligent' or 'educated' or 'conscious' Autocorrections meant for typographical mistakes and grammar mistakes are not the same. [ Typographical errors are not part of this discussion, I think. Should be about knowledgeable application of the language ] -

Senseless English, that beyond having to memorize every word spelling, this crooked contraption of letters were invented : Why writing 'Pronunciation' if writing 'prə-nŭn'-sē-ā′-shən would express it properly ? Some day I hope to find a literature something written entirely with that method / characters, whatever they are called. -

In my opinion, the English language being an spoken language in its roots is what mostly contributes to spelling errors. Whoever decided the current way to write a word in English is the correct way, was a senseless decision. Sorry, mister Shakespeare. English is very screwed up. The need to memorize the spelling of each word was a surprise to me learning this language. Do not know if other languages are alike, with 'spelling bee' contests. Phonetic languages are not like that. They are pronounced exactly as written, they are written exactly as heard; with every letter having one and only one sound. No problem in writing words never heard before, nor saying something as first found in written. Second is the interest of the writer on doing things right. Do not see the above as related to 'intelligence' 'law', 'knife' are two of thousand examples which make no sense. To me, should be 'lo' , 'naif' -
If the phone contents are not extracted by Apple, terrorists will buy those. Gets them impunity. And more sales to Apple. If the phone contents are extracted by the goverment experts, with no Apple help, it will be another hurdle to good citizens, as we have enough imposed by NSA. If the phone contents are impossible to extract, that is the kind of phones crooks will buy. Gets them secure impunity. I think Apple should extract the contents of that phone only, inside their Apple premises and give/let the government decipher whatever is in it outside Apple installations.

Hello all. If a solar panel during cloudy daylight gets total shade on several cells, as from an object fallen/covering them ; If a solar panel in full darkness at night gets some cells illuminated by a flashlight ; Is there still some current passing/generation in both cases ? Or dark cells will block flow of current for the whole panel ?

Any ultrasonic carrier frequency above twice the data rate should suffice, at a power that reaches destination range. ----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_rate Will this tickle ¿? ----> http://www.sonardyne.com/products/all-products/instruments/1146-ucomm-underwater-acoustic-modem.html ----> http://www.edgetech.com/images/ut-news/EdgeTech-Sea-Technology-mag-article-on-freq-selection.pdf For short ranges, clear waters I would venture/evaluate optical links instead of acoustical.

Welcome. Sound underwater is affected by different speed propagation, frequency response, attenuation, depending on temperature, depth pressure, salinity, suspended solids... Tables are available on the web. The "best frequency" depends on what do you want to do, and bear trade-offs, as everything. Read something about side scan sonar and will learn how different frequencies yield different results, to pick your preferences. ----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side-scan_sonar

Excellent link from iNow. Thanks ! * Drop the off-topic driving thing; it is about crossing borders between early states well before automobiles. Before the "U" in U.S.A. If the states were then, like individual / independent countries, "I.S.A." Appears to me that the "Presidents" of the 13 states / colonies got together to say / sign we are giving up from being independent states and joining United by the constitution document. *From that link :

In need to seal a sturdy PVC plastic bag with a flexible, permanent, agressive glue. Thermosealing / thermowelding would be the correct way, but not on hand to do it that way. The bag shows "Recycle 3" which should be PVC, made of about 0.3mm thick 'films' Unsure if something that somewhat dissolves the material to form the bond would be better. Any product recommendation ? ----> http://www.diomedia.com/imagePreview/01AFTGU4?imageId=9927668&imageCode=01AFTGU4&contributor=Phototake+RM&siteName=www.diomedia.com&title=&location=&ds=760&newStyle=1&tc=FFFFFF&tbc=333333&qv=95&icc=1&cl=1 No, it is not refilled with Bourbon. Houses electronic equipment in oil.

My history knowledge of the US is very limited. Did at any time, perhaps around 1800 or earlier, citizens of the newly established states needed a passport/documents to move/travel from one state to the other ? -Like Europe had strict traveling documents well into the 20th century-

Solar power: Are we going about this the wrong way?
Externet replied to Tres Juicy's topic in Speculations
And also TresJuicy misses that most are lazy to do anything that takes more than only pushing buttons, day or night, rain or cloudy, for the relentless pursuit of comfort, in exchange of paying. So preference is pushing buttons that cost money while sitting in front of a TV scratching 'tonsills' in comfort with a cold beer. In current use, as many others selling pushbutton comfort----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS20_solar_power_plant -
So there is no hope that these 4 cent cheap ~400nm emitters be somewhat germicidal And if somewhat, who knows which germ among thousands will be affected. ----> http://www.ebay.com/itm/5m-600leds-120LEDS-M-3528-UV-Ultraviolet-395nm-No-Waterproof-LED-Strip-black-PCB/141665925394?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35314%26meid%3Df1a639cdd9934c3190b3b1adbfa6a275%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D131333499089

A while ago a search found several vendors/manufacturers of claimed germicidal ultraviolet LEDs. Most of them at high prices, and did not save much data. But at that exact wavelength do not recall. Like ----> http://www.qphotonics.com/UVTOP-LEDs/ Others are ----> http://www.leduvlights.com/ ----> http://www.hexatechinc.com/uv-c-led.html ----> https://leddev.wordpress.com/2007/11/29/finally-germicidal-uv-leds-for-the-rest-of-us/ Cheaper? ----> http://th-led.en.alibaba.com/product/610391032-214075392/260NM_Germicidal_UV_Led.html#! ----> http://th-led.en.alibaba.com/product/612438487-214075783/265nm_Germicidal_UVC_LEDs.html#! From CharonY response, LEDs should yield same results as traditional UVc sources. Am after long strips to permanently leave installed inside along airconditioning ducts to make environments less prone to mold buildup. As previously found prices high, I opened a thread wondering if combining cheap 650nm and 400nm LEDs could yield some 250nm light. ( http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/93463-frequency-additionsubstraction-by-mixing-for-light/ ) Swansont opinion of other near wavelengths being also effective, will probably go in hand of which germ is killed better by which wavelength.

About a week ago, the snow fallen at my location was in the shape of individual rods or needles of about 2mm long and 0.2 mm diameter. Never seen that before.

Thanks. OK. Wavelenghts do not add. Let me translate all to frequencies... Will mixing 460 THz with 750 THz produce 1210 THz and also 290 THz ?
-
Thank you, Sensei. Are you saying that the sum of the energies of mixing 650nm light + 400nm light is nearly equal (247) to the energy of a light with the difference of their wavelengths 650nm - 400nm = 250nm ? Can the energies be substracted ; and what would that imply ? minus = 1.2eV Like in radiofrequencies, mixing say 1 MHz and 0.545 MHz yielding 1.545 MHz, and 0.455 MHz besides the fundamentals. Your response says "It's completely different way of working than while summing frequencies/summing energies of photons..." , then substracting would be 'no'. Correct ? What about ----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subtractive_color Is anything there related to this discussion ?
-
Radio circuits widely employ mixers to obtain different frequencies. Would the same happen with light ? If am interested in producing 250nm (UV) light; can this be obtained by 'mixing' 400nm and 650nm light sources to obtain the difference ? (The 1050nm sum would also be there)
-
There is solid factual claims for ultraviolet light to be germicidal, and industry devices providing such, at around ~250 nm wavelenght. Would the usually fluorescent tubes usually used for this have the same action if the light source is instead, LEDs ? (at the same wavelength) If the emmissive power of LEDs is inferior; would longer application time compensate to yield same results ?
