Right, they dont reuse the tanks, they partially burn up on re-entry and fall into the Indian Ocean and probably end up forming reefs.. What I was saying is that most of the foam on the tank Discovery used was applied to that tank pre-columbia (all the robotically applied foam which is 90+% of the foam was not changed). The "changes" where very small percentage of foam on the ramp areas (removing a ramp and changing some of the other small ones).

What "foam problem" are you refering to? They expect foam WILL fall off during launch (no way to prevent it), its all about where it comes from, how massive the foam is and how far into the flight it falls off. In this flight they had no foam fall off that was before 2m:15s into the flight so it was of no concern. What did fall off was also small enough that it would likely not have caused issues even if it had fallen off earlier. "Netting" would be pretty heavy im sure but the real issue is aero dynamics. Every "strand" of the net would cause drag and it would be yet another thing that could fall off and cause problems. Also, most pieces that do fall off are so small netting wouldnt prevent it. The old white "paint" was scrapped for Cost (of the paint) and weight. This tank also had something like 95% of its foam applied over 3 years ago (before Columbia even) and very little was actually changed. (mostly the PAL and ice frost ramp areas)

+/- doesnt really matter as long as your drive supports the one you use. If you want to be able to add more to a disk or reburn later you need to use RW disks, not just R. My DVD drive supports + and - in R and RW as well as dual layer so I can burn anything.

Ive used online chat programs and played online games such as MMO style for years. I have quite a few friends in those areas that I've never met in "real life". I do, however, consider them real friends. When in games we're not necessarily chatting only about games, we chat about the things normal friends chat about. I know quite a bit about most of them but given that most live several states away from me I've just never met them off-line before. I *do* prefer having my friends and relationships nearby so I can be a part of them face to face, but that doesnt devalue my online friends in my mind.

Humans can, and in some areas do, eat raw meat. Mass processing, shipping and "herds" is the main reason for harmful things found in the meat.

The DOS attack thing is likely a joke but could be your router/firewall warning you of a problem. 127.0.0.1 is your own computers internal address btw and I cant think of any reason you'd be redirected to that.

Just the act of smoking, to me, proves a lack of intelligence to start with. But I have no doubt that smoking would hinder brain functions as well.

I have (for as long as I can remember) had issues with short term memory. Basically I cant remember certain things that I'd think I should be able to. Like, what I ate for lunch today, or yesterday. Unless it was "significant" (like going to a nice restaurant) I probably wouldnt remember. I also forget peoples name until Ive heard it many times. Mine may just be due to sleep issues but who knows. I know my Sister and Father can remember stuff as if they've got a nearly photographic memory but I forget things all the time if they arent significant.

My mother has this condition and its definitely not typically diagnosed correctly. She went years before the clues where put together to figure out what the problem is.

Ive also read that some bone breaks can cause some sort of blood poisoning if not properly set. Either way Id think the long term effects of a bone not setting properly would be worth some time in a hospital.

Ive suffered for years without being able to get "good" sleep. Basically it can take 30min to 2hrs to fall asleep and I wake up frequently. (and sometimes take a while to fall back asleep again) I notice some side effects of this, such as never feeling fully rested and sometimes short term memory issues (like not remembering what I ate for lunch the previous day). However, I am still able to do my daily work (pc/network tech support) etc without trouble so I must be getting just enough sleep. Meds dont help at all. I can take a heavy dose of sedative and still take considerable time to get sleep and will still wake up at least a couple times in the night. I stopped using meds as they actually made me feel worse the next day than if I just didnt use them at all. Since this started happening (years ago) I noticed that I can no longer function if I've been awake over a certain period of time. (typically 18hrs awake is about the point where I dont feel well at all) When I used to be able to function fine even if I stayed awake on purpose for more than 1 day. One odd thing that I dont know if its normal; I often am conscious of my dreams as if I am not fully asleep but I am dreaming. I often wake up when this is happening and fully remember what I was dreaming about.

In previous years I never used A/C in my car unti late april at the earliest. Typically it just never got "stuffy" in the car before that time. This year a few times even in February it got hot and stuffy enough to need A/C in the car.

Ive actually had that "tea popsicle" thing happen as well. I've also had coca-cola freeze and leave the ligher colored (bad tasting) stuff up top too. Must be a similar phenomenon.

Does "antigravity" necessarily have to push things away? Seems to me creating that effect might be harder than creating a field where gravity has no effect at all. (vs negative-gravity)
