  1. Jeeze. Sorry big guy. I'm an idiot.
  2. A friend showed me this youtube video today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6pOpcSmIzE Do you think there's much potential in it?
  3. How were these footprints actually preserved?? Why weren't they washed away by rain and whatnot shortly after they were made? I just wondered.
  4. I don't think the universe is infinite. It has boundaries. An edge. If you were to teleport yourself instantly to the edge of the universe you would be faced with a thin, rubbery membrane. Breaking through this membrane would cause the universe to rapidly implode, (the implosion would be similar to that of a popped balloon, I suppose, caused by the pressure differences between the inside of the balloon and the outside). Assuming that you were not consumed by this enormous implosion, you would find yourself in what I'd like to call "Dimension R". You see, I think universes are not only like balloons, but also like russian dolls. Within one universe is another, and inside that another; and so on.. The most inner universe would be "Dimension A", and all subsequent "dimensions" follow on alphabetically. All "dimensions" are expanding at exactly the same rate. Beyond the outermost "russian doll" is the "Dining Table of the Gods" on which we are placed. We're basically just part of a finely-crafted ornament of some kind. One which is ever-expanding and a great talking piece.
  5. I remember hearing about this a few years ago. According to Michael Drosnin, (the writer of "The Bible Code"), from what I recall, a nuclear apocalypse was to occur in 2006.
  6. Oh. Shame there's no more answers here. I was wondering the same thing.
  7. This new technology will be the death of us all. Mark my words.
  8. At a time of melting icecaps and rising sea-levels, is making water from the air really something we should be doing? I say leave it there, we have enough!
  9. Stripes ;D
  10. They've always fascinated me, and I've decided to finally treat myself to one for christmas The question is though, which should I buy? I'm looking for one which has the following two features: A good enough magnification to see things like BED BUGS, FACE MITES, and RED BLOOD CELLS. (Would this require more than 1000X magnification?). Also I'd like to be able to see larger things in good detail, such as, the face of a housefly, (For something like this you'd need about 40X magnification, wouldn't you?) The ability to link up to a computer and allow me to move images of what I magnify onto it. The larger and clearer these images, the better. I have around $210 to spend.. Any suggestions of manufacturers/models/types/places to look/prices etc would be marvellous.
  11. I'm fine communicating with people who I feel comfortable around, such as my family. I struggle though communicating with people who I don't know. Around people I don't know my brain seems to switch into a completely different mode. I tend to feel anxious and it's difficult to think straight in these kinds of situations.
  12. It's true. I have this wonderful thing known as "Social Anxiety Disorder", or "Social Phobia". It probably sounds ridiculous to you, but it's actually ruining my life. I find myself over-analysing, dreading, and (when possible) avoiding social situations all together because of it. This has lead to me becomming extremely isolated, and therefore spend much of my time stewing in my own thoughts. I don't feel like I can be myself. It's a really strange mindset to be in. I know that the fears are irrational, but it's as though there's a large part of my brain that I simply have no control over. --------- Feel free to tell me how pitiful and cowardly I am, etc. Hopefully your wise contributions will help me get a grip.
  13. For those of you who don't know about cryonics, take a looksie at this --> http://www.benbest.com/cryonics/CryoFAQ.html#_IA_ What do you think of it all? Is such a thing scientifically feasible? Are you against it morally? Would you be interested in being frozen? I'd be interested to hear what you think.
  14. Unless you know somebody on a personal basis they're nothing more than a physical entity of spacetime, yes.
  15. To be fair, that bares a frightening resemblance to a face. Maybe it's the second coming of baby Jesus. (In crater-form). Either way, thanks for sharing this gem of a find.

Females find me both repulsive and vulgar
  17. Does anybody know a good website for science documentaries that you can watch for free online? I stumbled across some good ones about string theory earlier on PBS.org, but are there others? Thankyou
  18. You could probably speed up the recovery process, (if the numbness still hasn't completely gone), by squeezing it until tip goes red and tingly. Well, that'll either speed up the process of recovery or cause severe internal bleeding; one of the two. Regards, Dr. Death
  19. Padding, padding, and more padding.
  20. I'm both fascinated and perplexed.

    Plasma

That sounds rather dangerous, although I'm no expert. I once quite badly burnt myself with one of those glass plasma balls.. I layed the metal cone from the top of my lava lamp on the glass sphere, and then moved me finger to within a milimeter or so of the top of the cone while it was switched on. This caused a bright spark to jump from the cone to my finger, resulting in a yellow, painful burn. Since that day I've been rather wary of such devices, (especially home-made ones).
