Evolution is taught (in my highschool and college at least) as a fact; however the driving force being natural selection is taught as a prevailing theory. Still tho, there is absolutely no way any well educated individual could think all species were created by god exactly as they appear today.

It's possible, but the same kind of reaction is possible with virtually anything... latex, peanuts, ... and I've never heard of it happening with MDMA.

Pure MDMA by itself causing a lethal reaction has never occured within reasonable amounts taken, but it's not at all unlikely that 1 in 100,000 pills sold ectasy may contain another chemical that could be much more lethal. Dehydration and water intoxication have caused deaths, but these are easily avoidable, as are deaths resulting from impairment while driving and mixing with other substances.

We've analyzed chromosomes showing a Robertsonian translocation on chromosome number 2 present in humans that is not present in apes, deleting some parts and giving us one less chromosome. A very simple proof of evolution is to take a group of bacteria, confer streptomycin resistance on a few, place them on a medium with streptomycin, and watch them all become true-breeding for streptomycin resistance very quickly.
