  1. A very large country. Like I said, weapons inspectors were there to verify claims of disarmament, not go on an easter egg hunt. If they wanted to search the entire country, it would take decades. This time frame is not appropriate.
  2. Pill pushers?? Cut em up!
  3. UC Berkely has a great program for theoretical physics. I assume you're referring to graudate programs, since if there's a college offering a theoretical physics undergrad program I sure didn't hear about it while I was applying.
  4. Since their matter is equal and opposite, they cancel eachother out.
  5. BUMP!
  6. Why would they stay with Iraq blocking access to sites they wanted to go to?
  7. Try talking to your teachers about independent study.
  8. Best thing to do in highschool is just completely ignore the class and study more advanced things all period. Generally teachers won't care, as long as you're acing all the tests.
  9. Newton's genius is quite underrated. Most people see the formula F=ma and think "big deal, thats simple." They should look out how he derived that relationship. Very interesting. They way he did it is completely different from techniques everyone else uses too.
  10. Iraq did cooperate to a limited extent with weapons inspectors. However, Mr. Blix himself said that they should have been doing much much more, and they certainly were not "actively" cooperating, it was more of letting the weapons inspectors go on an Easter egg hunt than helping them prove destruction of the weapons. This has been going on for over a decade, how much time should they be allowed? Saddam knew full well that he'd be facing military action by the US if he did not fully cooperate with 1441, and he chose not to.
  11. How to use the symbols or how to do the problems? I just found a site with gifs of the symbols and uploaded as custom smilies.
  12. Now they don't fall in the water... but our predecessors might have. And of course evolution happens over thousands of generations. It's definately not a disadvantage, so its advantage over time and numbers became dominant. Instincts are genetic.
  13. Really?? It did??? no. If the UN gives you a final demand to cooperate 100%, and you cooperate 10%, that is NOT succesful diplomacy unless you're a spineless liberal.
  14. I just wanted to encourage all users, particularly some of our newer and younger users, that choosing a good topic for your thread is very important. The topic of the post should be in the title. Not only are you likely to get more reads on it, but it will also look better in the topic list.
  15. The alliance with Japan works both ways. It is important to them too, and that said, they would cooperate with diplomatic measures to resolve any issues. Iraq poses a threat to its own people and its neighbors, as well as Israel. Military action IS a last resort, people just don't seem to realize that with Iraq, after 12 years of attempted diplomacy, we have indeed come to the last resort. Saddam's regime is executing POWs. Any regime who would carry out such acts is clearly not otherwise peaceful.
  16. It's highly unlikely Japan would spit in the UN's face like Iraq did.
  17. So countries only have to abide by surrender terms for a few years?
  18. If they continually violated new UN resolutions and diplomacy was making no progress, then a war would be justified.
  19. Make it known. Go talk to your teacher about an advanced topic in their field after class.
  20. Questions like yours are good. It's just annoying when someone asks a question that answered by spending 10 seconds on Google, and isn't something that we can build a discussion around. That and non-descritive topics. People are much more likely to read a topic like "The history of war" rather than "please help me".
  21. There is no scientific evidence that any paranormal phenomenon has the result of ghosts. Strange things happen, but that's the nature of our universe. Doesn't mean ghosts exist.
  22. I believe black holes "evaporate" over time.. where does the mass go? Cosmic strings?
  23. Which is why UM > USF.
  24. That's not how the American education system works.
