    Time.

Never Ever EVER Quote Hawking as authority.

    aliens

    No.
  3. The concepts are being taught younger and younger. 30 years ago, volcanos were a degree topic, now the same things are being taught in prep school.
  4. You don't need to; you can get the trigonometric relationships without numbers, and you can then derive any value from the taylor series.
  5. What are you talking about?
  6. That's my rank on another forum you know;
  7. I think that aliens are giant bananas.
  8. That's an oversimpflication of genetics.
  9. No I'm not
  10. Of course it isn't It's a transcendetal number. It has been proven to be infinite. (but between the values of 3.1 and 3.2)

We've had plenty of the nonspamming kind.
  12. I'm instigating the 'campaign to change my rank to Empiricism Man or somesuch'!
  13. If you calculate any digit of pi without having to know its surroundings, you would have to calculate an infinite number of 0's before you could be sure that it terminated.
  14. We can't explain anything scientifically. We can merely model and make empirical predictions in a metaphysical framework.
  15. Light moves at 299792458m/s (in a vacuum) compared to the velocity of any reference frame. The equation for calculating recession (and indeed approach speeds) is as follows, where a is the velocity of one object, b is the object moving away from it (or vice versa, it doesnt matter), and c is the speed of light in a vacuum recession speed of (a,b) = (a+b)/(1+ ab/c^2)
  16. Hmmm? ps. Look at the post to which I was replying, I think a simple answer suffices.
  17. Mathematically, there are infinite dimensions. You can't use M-Theory as an example of a physical theory, as it's nowhere near complete. Empirically there are 4.
  18. Antimatter = matter with opposite charge. All other properties (mass, etc) remain the same.
  19. There are an infinite number of theoreticals, but only empirically 4.
  20. That's not how the scientific method works you fool. You don't automatically assume all theories are true until disproved.
  21. It's an upshot of 2 solutions of the Dirac Wave Equation basically.
  22. Well, hawking isn't really all that respected because he dumbs all the science down in his books until it's actually wrong. And the axes intersect eachother at 0, as will all axes, and are at right angles to eachother. (Real x, imaginary x, real y, imaginary y)
  23. Well, it doesn't have much of one now, does it? Things can happen to magnetic fields....
  24. Roswell that ends well.
  25. I believe that this wouldn't work, as the atmosphere would be stripped off by the solar wind, as mars doesn't have a large enough magnetic field to divert it.
