Well, the literal interpretation is 'More than one', but that doesn't really apply here. 10+ is usual, I hear.
  2. Einstein vs Tesla, on PPV this weekend.

    Abortion

  4. To explain a bit more quickly: theories are based on evidence, theorems are based entirely on logical progression.

  6. MSPaint, king amongst the drawers of stupid diagrams.
  7. In English?
  8. Imperial is definitely not as useful as SI. A simple bit of evidence for that statement is that the standard units in science are the SI ones.
  9. That was an engineering problem, not a physics one. Until Einstein, a universal speed limit was not the way of thinking.
  10. One thread is enough.
  11. Carbon dioxide is really rather inert. There are things you can do with it, but they're all inefficient. And we know about them already.
  12. Also, people, on the whole, aren't charged entities.
  13. Sorry, the point I was trying to make was that the mass is standardised from Carbon 12, not from Hydrogen. The 1837 comes from 1386 + 1, because a hydrogen atom contains a proton and an electron, their combined masses being 1387 times the mass of an electron, and therefore the mass of an electron is that amountth (if you will) of the mass of a hydrogen atom.
  14. But that's engineering
  15. 'String Theory' isn't a theory, it isn't even a conjecture. It hasn't really predicted anything yet, because it doesn't really exist yet.
  16. Yes, that's what I think too. You'd have thought that my posts saying just that would have been evidence enough.
  17. No, it's just that he's quoting my counterargument for the existance of a 'fixed universe center' and using it to construct a counterargument for the existance of the same.
  18. Except fighter jets aren't designed to travel in long, straight lines. They have to manouver by necessity.
  19. The standard unit is, in fact, 1/12th the mass of an atom of Carbon 12, not a hydrogen atom.
  20. That was Newton, not Einstein. "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."
  21. I'm not sure where you're getting the arguments that you're replying to from. Do you post on some kind of Bizarro Science Forums, and there's been some crosscontamination?
  22. Or, at least, there's no way to empirically verify if it is.
  23. Yes, it does.
  24. 145 x 145 = (140 + 5) x (140 + 5) = 140 ^ 2 + 2 x 140 x 5 + 5 x 5 = 140 x 140 + 140 x 10 + 25 = 140 ( 140 + 10 ) + 25 = 140 x 150 + 25
