  1. 2^35. It's astronomically big. Not quite as big as 264-1, which is the answer to a similar puzzle thing. Edit: fixed tags - RadEd

You're the bee's ankles, you know?
  3. It's a quantum effect where two particles that are close together can enter a state called Entanglement. The upshot of this is that when you measure something about one, it's true about the other. For instance, if you don't measure the spin at either end, as soon as you measure it at one you'll know what the spin will be at the other. This may appear like it's breaking the speed of light maximum for information interchange, but it's actually not.
  4. It's a positive feedback loop, the problem will only get worse if you leave it.
  5. Orbitals don't have a spherial shape, which is sort of to do with particle wave duality (there sort of lobular) Protons do emit an field, they're POSITIVE and electrons are NEGATIVE.
  6. Dude, according to String Theory, Everything is a string, so you've gotten confused along the way. ps I remember seeing some mathematics that proved that the Casimir effect didn't propagate through any extra dimensions, I think it might apply for gravity as well.

    dumb question

They all yield the same answer. An imaginary number squared will get you to an odd number, so will taking an even root of an even number (Saying that it ends up even is like saying SQRT(-2)^2 ends up even.)
  9. I never had a chemistry set, model rockets, telescopes, gyroscopes or the rest. And I turned out just fine. FINE DAMMIT
  10. If you want to learn how to program, get a book on the language. I like the O'Reilly ones (for Perl anyway) personally.
  11. Everyone should watch Bebop.
  12. Such as? Einstein/Bose condensates are doing well, SR is damn near untouchable, GR is standardised, and the explanation of the photoelectric effect is the route of QM. The only thing I can think of that's not in fashion is The Cosmological Constant, but that's coming back. It would be imaginary. Like I said.

Given that he refuses to justify that statement, I'm having a hard time believing it. Read ATM's post for more in depth commentary!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this, except to assume that we're stick in the muds who want to ban guns just to ruin everyone's fun. OK, we'd better assume that you feel that you're above the law then? I can pretty clearly gather what he's getting at. ie. That you're involved in illegal activity. 'I could continue, but that would be boring and make it harder for you :)'

You appear to be operating under the assumption that atm and I are the same person. Furthermore, why did you change 'Shit' to '$hit'? They both mean exactly the same, both convey the same offense (unless having a line through the s makes all the differece), and I've only seen things like the latter regularly before when there's a censor in place. Oh, and you still haven't answered my question.

If it's a tool for a legitimate sport, why not use BB guns or the like? There's not much you lose from using them, and the safety gain is enormous. Whilst it's true that almost anything can be a weapon, I don't feel that an item that is designed to kill really fits alongside items which are purely functional, and of little comparative danger.

Why? (Which is kind of the question I ASKED BEFORE)

That's not the same as why you NEED guns. I can use a pencil to scratch my nose, but it's not a very good justification of why we need pencils.

I'd like you to answer the question that I asked, ideally, especially given that it was a general one.

I thought there was a unilateral ban on handguns; as you said yourself, even police officers aren't allowed to have them at home. It's also not describing the reason you want the gun, just the reason for not giving them up, which is an identical reason for anyone wanting to not give up their property.
  24. I think you're missing the idea that C++ is more complex.
  25. I don't think so (he described in the first post an experiment which isn't based on entanglement), but it's another 'odd' phenomenon that has some similiarities.
