Atheism means 'not believing in god'. If they don't believe in (a) god(s), then they can otherwise do what they like, they're still atheists. Just because there are two possibilities does NOT MEAN THERE'S A 50/50 CHANCE INVOLVED. Example: to the question 'Is there a billion pounds in your bank account?' there are two answers, yes and no. However, no is much more likely than yes. So far there is no evidence to suggest a god exists, and whilst he can never be proven not to exist, he does not empirically exist.
