A dictionary can prove that there is nothing but our Universe?
-
How do you know that we are not encoded of mathematical functions? If we can make them it doesn't mean that we are not one of them We can't say that exactly. I would call The World is everything that exist but not the Universe
-
I often see this word. What does it mean? How much time are you given to find a job?

To THoR Question about existance - suppose we have a super computer that processes almost infinite number of operations per second. We create a program with totally same laws of nature, properties etc with our Universe. Then we create singular point (or any other thing that actually created our Universe) in the program. Basically we are making an absolutely exact copy of our Universe. Then we watch how galaxies, planets appear. Finally we can see scientists who are trying to explain existance of Universe... Can we count this "Universe" real? Do those people have intellegence? and what if we are too created by some "other-dimension computer"? And everything in our Universe is predetermined? But if we are exact copy of the other universe which created us then eventually we will create a copy of our world too! Perhaps what I said is philosophic thing but we can't answer this question only by science yet. Philosophers can only make hypotheses which will be later proved or denyed by scientists. To administrator Can we move this topic to the philosophy section?

To bluesmudge You were talking that we can't understand existing of universe and I just tryed to explain why

What's the computer science class? Is it in school or in college?

Where is the difference between what I said and you did ? Sorry, I did not find an off topic button

Why does concept of "before" and "after" depends on lightspeed?
Nacelunk replied to Nacelunk's topic in Relativity
To Cap'n Refsmmat I guess. I must learn english perfectly before I can read hard scientific books. I think I'd rather find something in Russian -

I will What are you learning in Physics 11 Honors and how does it differ from regular one? -

What if I try? (Without any mirrors) -
Why does concept of "before" and "after" depends on lightspeed?
Nacelunk replied to Nacelunk's topic in Relativity
I read an article where author was talking about this: imagine a big mirror. This mirror reflects everything that happens in someones life. Then, you go and sit into a spaceship which can overcome lightspeed. You fly directly from the mirror (in exact direction which the reflected photons go). Gradually you overtake the photons. First you see the photons which "show" us very recent events (that guy is old) then you see "older" photons that show young guy. Basicly time is going back. Is this what you mean saying time is relative as well as space? -

What if try? -
Why does concept of "before" and "after" depends on lightspeed? Also here is example - an objects is flying in a perfectly dark (without photons) area. What would be the maximum speed for the object and what would happen if it turned its engine on incredibly powerfull mode and tryed to overcome the lightspeed?

To bluesmudge I think It's even good that we can't understand that difficult things (we think using only 5-10% of our brain). There are many people (mostly not very smart) who lose their minds after they tried to understand hard physical theories and phylosophical thoughts. I think humans are not yet prepared to process incredibly hard info such as appearing of Universe. Also we can't really think about "nothing" or imagine the length of Universe. I think ancient people were using their brains even at 1 or 2% but as we move forward, perhaps we will be using it at full force (if we survive til that time)

That's what I said at the beginning

Loan also pays for a room, food, etc? So, I can pay all money at one time or pay 500-1000$ a month? Who is careers person and where can I find him?
-
You're saying we can work in university a bit to earn money to give back the loan?
-
ag47 - so, how are you paying for the univ? Loan?
-
I actually don't know. It's just a Unversity close to my home I've never heard about it. I thought it only depends on how good you finish school. Besides I am going to leave my parents after high school
-
All right, the diagram is pretty straightforward - Q=0 is it?
-
We can create computers that perform calculations trillions of billions times faster than we do but we will never ve able to create intellegent computer until we fully understand how our brain works. And I think that would be much more important event than creating super fast computer
-
Yeah. I think I will never lose interest in learning (especially science). The biggest problem for me now is to get money for university... If I get the student loan, does it pay for room or apartment in or close to university. If yes - is it expensive? My science teacher says that it costs only 3000-5000$ per year in UBC (University of British Columbia) and people on the forum are talking about 20000 a year! How can it be? Are private universities so much more expensive?
