  1. Friction is negligible in most basic physics labs anyway, so the assumptions hold true. Remember that the equations don't purport to just "work" -- they purport to describe the motion of an object being acted upon by one force: gravity. That situation just doesn't exist most of the time.
  2. That doesn't really enter into the security question at all, anyway. Mozilla has a history of fixing security bugs faster than Microsoft does. Regardless of the number of problems (about equivalent), you're exposed to them for a shorter period of time if you use Firefox.
  3. Depends on the equation they input. If it's something that requires the quotient rule or something nasty like that it might be a bit difficult.
  4. I'd have thought that hydrogen, because it's so light, would clear out of your lungs fairly quickly, wouldn't it?
  5. It's not YT asking for the help, it's alhamra.
  6. About vaccines and autism: http://www.dbunked.com/pseudoscience/the-mmr-vaccine-and-autism
  7. They don't, actually.
  8. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/chocmilk.asp Now stop registering multiple accounts or I will ban all of them.
  9. Can I pay in Confederate money?
  10. There isn't one. Would you prefer we had one somewhere?
  11. Yeah, and it occasionally gave me totally random numbers for people...
  12. Wait until we release the quantum reputation plugin. That'll be even better.
  13. Ah, so you're using "creationist" in a completely different sense. One that still doesn't make any sense.
  14. I think the point is that your previous post makes no sense without expansion and explanation. I don't see how those links are relevant, either.
  15. Let's not get into this again, please.
  16. Yes, but you still can't use img to show attached images.
  17. You can't use img tags to show an image that doesn't end in .jpg or .png or some other graphics format. I believe vB has a way of showing attachments inline, but I forgot...
  18. I think they're vaguely trying to be a real encyclopedia. And failing miserably.
  19. http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/memberlist.php, just above the Avatar column.
  20. Cultural inertia, I'd say. There's nobody trying hard enough to change everything -- people complain, sure, but nobody's trying to fix anything.
  21. I have a slide whistle.
  22. You're not alone: (from xkcd)
  23. Earth is being slowed by friction from particles in interplanetary space, AFAIK.
  24. How did this thread go from "why are they closed?" to being a great example of the answer to that question?
  25. I'd suggest a mail filter moving those emails to your Junk folder.
