  1. Blender 3D?
  2. No, I had pre-written my response to this thread three weeks ago.
  3. You seem to be missing the point. I closed the thread to stop the discussion. I do not wish for you to continue posting new threads to circumvent the closure of the previous thread. If you continue with this tactic I will begin to issue warning points.
  4. iNow did not say science depends on context. He said the answer to your question does. This is getting a mite tiresome.
  5. Fred, I believe I closed the previous thread for a reason. You do not seem to have changed your means of argument, so I will close this thread too. Read what mooeypoo said carefully. She has a point, you know.
  6. Actually, I think FreeBSD 7 will be the king in that regard. It has pretty wicked benefits for people running webservers. Mine, friends' computers, various other computers I have seen -- and I try to eliminate as many startup tasks as possible.
  7. I regularly see XP boxes with 55 processes running.
  8. That's the way to do it. Feign ignorance.
  9. Well, that's the end of this thread. Fred56, you need to start making more substantive arguments, and you ought to know by now that just because A ⊃ B doesn't mean B ⊃ A.
  10. You still don't know what else is in the guts of the laptop. You can't make a fair comparison without knowing the age and usage of the laptops, the guts of it, and all sorts of other stuff.
  11. That's not exactly a fair comparison. Newer processors with more gigahurtz likely suck power more than an older processor regardless of what you run on them.
  12. I can recommend a good book on the subject (Learning Python by Mark Lutz and David Ascher) but not an online tutorial, as I haven't tried many of those. The SciPy download page offers versions of SciPy for both 2.4 and 2.5.
  13. Python's a good choice as you can use it for pretty much anything. It's actually quite powerful in the language sense -- you can do a lot with very little code -- and incredibly flexible. You could benefit from learning the basics of programming (loops, control structures, functions, objects, etc.) with an easy-to-learn language like Python. If you ever learn a more complex language like C++, that experience will pay off greatly.
  14. We can gladly remove your information. However, deleting your account would result in your posts vanishing and create continuity problems in threads. vBulletin doesn't even provide for deleting users as far as I know. If you would like us to remove specific information we can gladly oblige.
  15. That was before they switched to frying with vegetable oil.
  16. ecoli: That's probably because classes in high school might not directly emphasize memorization, but that's how people actually handle them. They study for tests by memorizing every important concept instead of understanding how the concept works and what it means. You can make it by understanding and you'll be considered an exceptional student.
  17. Great. Thanks for the warning. Tor is now blocked on SFN. Try again later.
  18. I checked and that option was turned off. vB must like saying happy birthday to people.
  19. Who are you sending PMs to? I don't think I've received any, and only admins can delete an account. However, account deletion is rather messy and we don't generally do it. We can make vBulletin not send any more emails to you, if that would be okay.
  20. The problem wasn't preaching, it was the people who couldn't engage in rational discussion while remaining calm. Perhaps the sticky should point that out.
  21. I'd recommend that book, by the way. And I don't believe everything authorities tell me, though it doesn't really make a difference if they're aliens or Yeti.
  22. I wonder if vB's censoring system allows me to insert BBCode...
  23. So [math]\frac{dx}{(1-x^2)^{1/2} \sin^{-1} x}[/math]?
  24. Do you mean [math]\left ( \frac{dx}{1 - x^2} \right ) ^{\frac{1}{2}}\sin^{-1} x[/math]? It's hard to tell in text.
  25. I think Phi has a future in counseling. He seems to understand people so well.
