  1. You'll need to write equations for both pieces of motion. Try doing that before going further.
  2. Just a note to all that signed up: you should have received an email from me describing what we'll all do next. I'd like to get dbunked moving now that we have the manpower.
  3. I had a 733MHz computer with 384MB RAM and it ran reasonably well with XP. I'd suggest just using automated CPU scaling, which changes the frequency based on how much CPU load there is.
  4. Would you like me to start redirecting you to tubgirl? (Warning: those who do not know what that is do NOT want to look it up. Seriously. If you want a hint, I'll tell you this much: you will want to bleach your eyeballs out after looking at it.)

    Time.

It'd be best to start a new thread to discuss Farsight's paper.
  6. Your subatomic particle title increases in size the more posts you get. There are 13 possible titles.
  7. fattyjwoods: Limewire isn't illegal. Downloading music without buying it is.
  8. Limewire might not be the trouble. When you (illegally) download music off of Limewire, you're getting it off of some random dude somewhere who decided to share that music. It's most likely that guy's fault.

    Time.

    I'd try if I didn't get a 403 Forbidden error.
  10. The original book discussion forum was for SFN-organized book discussions. We could put in a "book reviews" forum for members though. I'd enjoy it if I got good book suggestions out of it.
  11. We use them to pay for the server and such.
  12. That's pretty broad. You're essentially asking "are iPods better than everything else?"
  13. I think both members had a suspicion it was homework and refused to do your work for you. It does read like homework, by the way. I'd suggest you do as YDOAPS said and figure out what the reactants are. For example, for #1, water and ammonium chloride: H2O + NH4Cl Frankly I don't know what will happen from there, but it'll at least help you "see" what's going on.
  14. An iPod is a type of mp3 player. What sort of other players were you considering?
  15. Set up Wi-Fi?
  16. We generally save threads so that people who search the forums can find answers to their questions. If the thread derails again, I can close it.
  17. Ionic bonds have an electrostatic attraction between atoms (meaning one has a positive charge, one has a negative charge). This is similar to, but not the same as, magnetism.
  18. First 100? I think I got to 1500 or so before wising up a little Believe me, MrSandman, I've made my share of comments in threads that have been beaten down ruthlessly by experts, and I usually gave up fighting when I realized that I was wrong. Three years on, I've learned a hell of a lot from SFN and hopefully taught a few people stuff too. A quick ego check will do you wonders and you'll end up learning so much more. MrSandman: if you want everyone to know that you're sixteen, feel free to put that fact in your signature. I'd always be careful about whatever personal information you let out, though.
  19. We've accumulated quite a few of them before.
  20. Regardless of much you think MrSandman deserves them, please save your comments for a more appropriate place.
  21. https:// requests, unless they decrypt them, don't reveal the website you're requesting. They may block IP addresses directly, since secure sites have to have their own unique IP.
  22. If you use something like Gmail, just use https://mail.google.com instead. Secure sites cannot be filtered. However, this talk is in violation of our own rules and we'd probably better stop
  23. Malware is most certainly on the rise now. The current trend is not the traditional virus that wipes your hard drive but botnets that use your computer to send spam, and some botnets are estimated to consist of several million computers.
  24. True, although the article will have to be "endorsed" before it will be published.
  25. Looking at his first post, arXiv.
