  1. We, err, run the site, you know. If you want to make a threat, you'll have to make it a credible. Show your past conquests, current kingdoms, etc. Sheesh. If you want to troll, do it properly.
  2. Har. You have 11,586 posts to make. That should take you just over three days posting non-stop. Have fun.
  3. Start simple. Learn the programming language first, then learn graphics, then apply it to games. Python would be good to learn, as you can use Pygame.
  4. Okay. Here's something that's impossible: make a square circle. See, you need to limit what things can't be impossible, or someone will come up with something like this (Euclidean geometry, please).
  5. I think the Java client might be broken until the IRC server comes back up.
  6. That was quick.
  7. Argh. I go for Atheist's way in my PHP and Java endeavours. Python style is nice though...
  8. Whenever anybody - staff or otherwise - breaks the rules, you should use the Report This Post button () to tell us about it.
  9. And Linus Torvalds never patented parts of the kernel.
  10. They're different people, unless there's a proxy involved.
  11. As in all of your applications? You'll need to find someone else with a TI-84 so you can get the applications from them. It takes ten or fifteen minutes to transfer them all.
  12. Crap. Shouldn't make a difference in the final results of the example, though.
  13. As some of you have noticed recently, we now have a user reputation system enabled on SFN. We hope that the reputation system will help improve the quality of posts on SFN, and encourage people to make better posts in the future. At the bottom of each of your posts (but not those of anyone else) you will see a small icon indicating the number of reputation points you have (the more, the better). You can give someone reputation points by using the small icon in the corner of their posts (). Please note that the reputation system only allows you to give positive reputation - thus, it's more of a "thank you" button for helpful posts. We're not sure if we should allow negative reputation - it caused trouble the last time we implemented the system - but we'll see how things go with positive only first. If you have any further ideas for reputation, feel free to post them here. Have fun.
  14. The system should be enabled now. Use this button to give reputation:
  15. Err, really, insane_alien?
  16. You must remember that Prison Planet is also the website flaunting chemtrails and the New World Order. I've listened to the Alex Jones show on shortwave a few times, so trust me on this one. It's not exactly an objective source.
  17. That shouldn't matter too much in this example, but I was taught that M was molality...
  18. Regular keyboards don't have the nice mechanical switches. I've typed on an IBM Model M keyboard with that design, and it's rather nice - you get a click when you press the key down the right amount, and it's very easy to type on.
  19. First you work out how many moles of HNO3 are in each solution (remember, molality is moles/kilogram, and water has a density of 1). Then you add up the volumes and the number of moles of HNO3, and you can calculate the new molality. So, in your example: 200mL of .3M HNO3: [math]0.3 = \frac{x}{0.200}[/math] Solving for x gives you the number of moles of HNO3 in that sample. Do the same with the other sample, add them up, and calculate the new molality.
  20. Check the "Remember Me" box next time you log in. vB's cookie handling is crap unless you check that box, I think.
  21. You get a small space for attachments. If you need image hosting, you can go to a specialized site like imageshack or photobucket.
  22. Errr, well... http://www.scienceforums.net
  23. The simplest way is to calculate how many moles of product will be formed for each reactant - so if you have x moles of H2O, calculate how much product will be formed, and if the other reactant is HCl, and you have y moles, do the calculation again with that number. The reactant that produces the lowest number is the limiting reactant. Borek, please stop advertising (what I presume is) your site.
  24. This thread isn't going anywhere. We have resident experts, but they tend to have college degrees and years of experience in their fields.
  25. It gets stuck occasionally. I'll poke dave if I see him.
