Indeed. MediaWiki is completely filled with all sorts of crap and I think Wikipedia would be a lot faster if they could improve upon it.

No, no, no. Don't download it, it's PHP and I haven't done an install file yet either. Just use the demo.

I've finally finished all of the key frontend features of scWiki so I'd like do let everybody who wants to to beta test it. A demo can be found here. (don't download it since there is no installer) So far the biggest thing it lacks is a complete admin panel (although it's better than MediaWiki, which has none at all) and that's what I'll work on for the next week or two, along with any bugs that pop up. I'll also take suggestions on styling and what I should do to make it look snazzier. The current style is a bit boring. If you're an expert PHP coder, check out the CVS and look through the code to see if there are any security problems or anything. If you get one of those, do not post it publicly. PM me quickly, with details, and a suggested fix. Thank you for helping.

That also depends on what you want. If you want easy to use but nice, try Ubuntu. If you want hard-to-configure but very configurable, try Gentoo. Etc.

...what? By the way, I wouldn't mind if everybody took a look at the demo and told me if there were any bugs. This time you can actually register...

Aha! It works! Thanks Aeternus (he got it to me on IRC). Anyways, if someone here knows good Smarty, HTML, and CSS I'd like to upgrade the default style of scWiki. It looks a bit boring, I must say. After this, all I have to do is the admin control panel (it's half-done) and bugfixes and scWiki should be done!

The code is the bit that I'm trying to figure out, and it is difficult enough. Bleh. I'll see what I can get.

I'd like to ask if anybody has ideas on how to implement a categories system. It would be easy, but for the fact that I want to do them so that you can have sub-categories and sub-sub-categories and so on. I can't figure out how to display them and such though. Help?

The cargo planes aren't really equipped to carry a massive load of people. They're designed for inanimate objects, and I believe they only have a row of seats down each side. Equipping them to carry many people would take a while, and also they are very loud and I believe they are also uninsulated.

A point doesn't have any mass anyways, so it really doesn't matter if it goes faster than the speed of light. I believe there was a discussion on a similar idea, in which a point of laser light would exceed the speed of light.

This is silly. I nobody cared when there was an official hall of shame maintained, with all of the users banned and the reasons (some of them insulting).

Some of them come back occasionally. Hmm... How about "classical idiots"--those that have been around. If one here is banned, put him up.

Ten points for calbiterol. Herme3 seems to be of the ideology that "if everyone does it, even if it's not by the rules/standards/whatever, then the standards should be changed." Same as "everyone does heroin, even if it's against the law, so the law should be changed so it's legal."

I'd like to create a Hall of Shame for all of the infamously memorable people on SFN.
