My opinion of this discussion: In other words, this argument is totally unnecessary. (most of it anyways) A lot of the argument is just semantics and laws totally unrelated to Russia. So... Jebus. On. A. Totem. Pole.

First scenario: Perhaps the lights are of the motion-sensing variety, with switches just in case you need them off manually. Second: Perhaps your frequency of the scream hit the natural frequency of some electronic gizmo in the lights or breakers or whatnot, knocking it out. Then later the thing stopped vibrating and came back (being out of the house is a coincidence).

I type in scienceforums.net. A little window pops up saying "You have chosen to open a Picture-It! document, index.php. What would you like to open it with?" Meanwhile the page is not loading. I select one and hit OK. Nothing happens. It does not load. If I hit Cancel, nothing happens either. That make sense? Although it is fixed now, since I cleared the cache.

Does anyone know of a good firewall that remembers what programs to let through and isn't annoying?

No no no no no. There's a FF window that says "How would you like to open this Puketure-It! document?" and I have to hit cancel.

No, the only way I can get here is through Google cache... I'll try clearing mine. edit: Now it works, after I cleared it. Only problem is it'll take longer to load pages for a while.

No. Puketure-It! does not control the way Firefox reacts to a picit document. Firefox does. Although I do only have 0.9.3, since I'd rather wait to the full 1.0 release to update and deal with Norton again... stupid norton.

Norton always forgets what programs I tell it to allow. Then I have to log into the admin mode, log out (without changing anything) and then it works. This happens for days. Then finally it remembers and I don't have to do it. So that's why I want a free one for the firewall part.

Whenever I try to access SFN it wants to open a Picture-It! document. I hit cancel. The only way I got here was searching Google for it, looking at the cache, and clicking a link there.

Another thing now: Whenever I try to go in here, it tells me to download a Picture-It! document. If I hit back a bunch of times, I don't have to.

Is there one that will remember what programs you want to let through (unlike Norton or McAffee), is free, and works well?

Great point there. I know people who swear every other word in a sentence when they're angry (i.e. someone takes their seat in a class). Ugh. It's horrible. But what can I do? Bring a roll of duct tape to class and fix them up?

I may not be a moderator, but I'd like to say something here: You are the one trolling. You make a post, supposed to prove a point, that's based on a theory with no evidence to support it whatsoever. Then you say that is proof. Unless you're Jean Chretien ( "A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven.") you really shouldn't say that. And then arguing that it's the easy way and you might befuddle him with a complicated answer is just dumb, because a previous answer with a good explanation did not baffle him. Please don't waste our time like this.
