Question: Why do we blame Bush for getting us into Iraq on faulty intelligence? If you had intelligence that said [country] was making WMDs, wouldn't you invade? You can't say "oh but the intelligence was not right" because he didn't know that yet. He may have started the plans long before they discovered that the intelligence was wrong or just doubtful. Yes, Windows firewall was off. Kaput. Norton asked me if I wanted both on, and I said I only wanted norton on, so then Windows Firewall stayed off. There was nothing on Microcrap's site.

Well, I just installed it-and promptly uninstalled it. As soon as it finished installing and rebooted, I wanted to mention it, but the internet wouldn't work. Firefox OR IE. Windows Firewall was disabled at the time. I promptly moved to another computer, and yes, the internet was working there (with no SP2), so I went to microcrap's website and looked to see if it was a known problem. Of course it wasn't. Then I went back and uninstalled, and obviously, everything works now.

I know, everyone could get the title "100,000 posts!" Or, more seriously, you could sell merchandise... Or, a cake background... Perhaps a few schemes to choose from for the background? New icons/buttons? Fire all of the moderators? Have a reward for the person that makes it? Have some sort of limit (avatar, sig length, blah blah) changed? Get avatars saying "Yay!" A banner saying "100,000 posts!" Who can spot the joke one?

I recently heard about (true story) two people who went on medical careers. They were cousins. One went and tried to become a doctor, and it took him loads of work to get through med school (duh). The other went to the Harvard of chiropractic schools, did little work, AND the PASSING grade was 28%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow.

Look, don't you have ANY external links to substantiate your claim? Currently those definitions of "software" I have all fit a virus. Now, you are saying that anything that does not run by itself, but is interpreted to do something, is not software. So then you could say that Java programs are not software, since they need the Java Virtual Machine to run them. Therefore any java program is not software. Right?

A virus is a PROGRAM that uses CODE to run a PROCESS (that may or may not be hidden in another process) that will cause BAD THINGS to HAPPEN, while a JPEG will enable a DIFFERENT PIECE OF DATA/PROGRAM to put an IMAGE on the SCREEN. I capitalized the vocabulary words for you.

Is that even crucial to his (her?) argument? You were saying things like that were NOT software, and he/she is saying they are.

A JPEG file does NOT put itself on the screen, the software does that. The software interprets the data and uses that to put an image onto the screen.
