I doubt many people will know the answer to this question, but still, I'll ask.
I recently acquired an OLD (32 years old) dosimeter from the Diefenbunker Canadian museum. It's an old quartz fiber type, 500 millirems. The problem is, I can't see the reading on it. It's not charged, but I thought that I would still be able to see the marker for radiation. So I don't know if it's broken or just off the scale, so I don't want to get a charger unless I know.
So, the question is: On this dosimeter, will it just go off the scale or will the thing just break over 32 years, unopened?
