  1. [math]It does this too? Interesting... nice font.[/math]
  2. My XP has only crashed maybe twice (in two years), due to programs, not the OS. Also, I found a serious problem with Mac in a network: If you print, but it fails, so you want to delete it from the print que, the computer freezes. No matter what. It just does, no matter how hard you try. In a school, it fails to print a lot!
  3. I don't think they'd freeze, there's a guy that swallowed liquid nitrogen. Ouch.
  4. Lots of coffee. Or, taping their eyelids open.
  5. I was thinking of transmitting and recieving, like from house to house.
  6. Kind of like defragmenting a computer.
  7. Hopefully they'll get the idea that we aren't all like him...
  8. Or, he's a crackpot. Crack, and pot, in one word.
  9. I was wondering: How easy would it be to make a radio at home with common materials? And how cheap? This radio would cover as many frequencies as possible... And please, I don't know a lot of the things like "Use a ___ resistor," I'm not that much of an electronics person.
  10. Pardon me, but I don't understand. What disease does Adam have?
  11. Perhaps we should make a thread: Design the next Reality TV show!
  12. Actually, nearly all liquid fuel rockets use liquid oxygen, it's the fuel that differs. I think that cold and hot air are just as easy to breathe, because if you think about it, it's not much of a difference in density. The only thing is that it takes more energy then to heat you up (in cold air).
  13. That's what I was thinking. Meanwhile, the professor will be thinking, "What a bunch of crackpots..."
  14. Or, just read my signature.
  15. Next there'll be: School TV: Students in school with really mean teachers, voting on who will get the highest grade. No, really. Reality TV is STUPID!!!!
  16. What's your rate of growth in members per month? I mean, physicsforums has 8,000 some members, and you have maybe 1,500 (most of which who don't post at all). I'd like it if we had experts in certain fields like Glider, by maybe asking professors you like to sign up. Then we would have a much more expert group of people and we wouldn't argue as much.
  17. No, I mean like put an ad for Science Forums somewhere. Perhaps maybe in Popular Science magazine, or the like (depending on how expensive it is).
  18. I just looked at Physics Forums, it looks a lot better than SciForums but you have to pay to get a signature or avatar. I wouldn't like that... Are the admins around here considering advertising?
  19. How's this: Flowers, little bugs, bigger bugs, birds, cats, dogs, parasites that kill the dog, worms (that eat the dead dog), birds, cats, dogs, parasites that kill the dog, worms (that eat the dead dog), birds, cats, dogs, parasites that kill the dog, worms (that eat the dead dog), birds, cats, dogs, parasites that kill the dog, worms (that eat the dead dog), birds, cats, dogs, and guess what? The same thing over and over.
  20. And, I assume, you didn't need advanced trigonometry. That shows that a good group of maybe 10 large mirrors, if he set a point to adjust them to and had them synchronised perfectly (hard enough) it would be easy. Getting them all focused without controlling all at once would be hard, so they would have to be highly trained to do so.
  21. Thanks! They work now!
  22. http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3907 YT2095's challenge to make a solar cooker, probably with a mirror. No lenses included. How is it the biggest problem? With some guesswork and mathematics, you could take mirrors based a good distance apart and focus them to burn a ship.
  23. Glass mirrors are just panes of glass with aluminum or silver behind them, just using silver itself would work. I don't see why you need a lens, I know that people use mirrors to cook things. In fact, I think YT set up a competition for it, and all you need is a mirror (or a group of mirrors).
