  1. Summary of your posts Replies Then finally it's been stated numberous times that IQ is not a perfect test for intellegence, yet you won't grasp that concept. You really have to connect the dots yourself. If intelligence is basically from genetics and enviroment and you accept that an IQ test is a good measure of intelligence then twins that score the same could either be because thier genetic contribution played a large role, or that the enviroment was the same, or whatever the outcome maybe. I really don't know what more you want...
  2. Are you just waiting for someone to say you're right? That you are a genius, that genetic influences means nothing... If that's the case then you are right, you are a genius! The answers to your questions are scattered in your thread, hense the position of Ecoli, there is not much more to say, I am sure he generally wants to help, but your repeated questioning is leaving everyone at an impasse.
  3. I am in my final semester, I am doing project on OES that our school recieved. Basically I have to calibrate it for copper based alloys. I understand how it works, but since it's a project and deals with optics, I was wondering what fields/subjects involved are there. I hope to go beyond what is required and really bring out the interest aspects of it for my report and presentation, therefore I'd need to get some of the theory down, but I don't know where to start looking besides what wikipedia reccomends.
  4. Thats interpreted as everyone else has been suggesting, enviroment & genetics. An IQ doesn't really mean much if you look at intelligence from a broad view point. I've gotten some random IQ scores 80, 102, 128, 135, 142,...0 Though I would say I'd be rather impressed with someone who scores 180+ average.
  5. lol, have you ever seen the movie called "The Void". Anyway, yeah I didn't it was a concern, but I wanted to contribute.
  6. hmmm. What about creating Blackholes? It's probably myth, but will the LHC have the possibility to do this?

I think he would give your book one of these faces:
  11. So I was thinking when you are "splitting" atoms, particularly within like a fission based bomb there is quite amount of thermal energy released. Is there anyway to produce the same effect but instead of thermal energy being allowed, its coverted into kinetic energy? I am guessing this would be called cold fission.
  12. hehe, drop a 5 ton stone on someone and they will never feel pain again. side effect: death, but that can be left in the fine print. p.s. awesome quote in your signature.
  13. Maybe new books or publications will come out and drive the popularity back up!
  14. In that case I'd go with S15.
  15. I going with the decline in popularity. Probably not a good short term estimate but I am thinking it's near the end of interest for alot of folks.
  16. Flip a coin, I am not really into those types of cars. I like 60's to late 70's cars. I am not familiar with the s15, what is that?

This makes sense to me, and thats rare so....that's probably as laymen as you can get. Once you get that, the rest seems easy enough to get.

    Hmm...

Well if she acted in this way and asked you to see a counsellor, then well, I couldn't see her not thinking you had issues (depending on what you actually said to make her feel the way she did). I've actually had issues when I was in high school, but I've learnt to word my question in way that wouldn't make a teacher feel uncomfortable. I was a real mess mentally in HS, but I guess I've always had the ability to understand how people think, I can pick up their personality really quickly. Just don't let it get to you, if she was always nice before, it probably wasn't her intention, it's very difficult for teachers these days. It's not the same world anymore, movies are BS they don't depict life, who would pay 15 bucks to watch something you live with everyday.

    Hmm...

Even if it wasn't sexual, people with mental issues tend to be seen as vunerable and confused. Trust me I know, some teacher don't care, but other do because they know it could ruin them. It's not that you specifically would, but don't you think out of all the recent cases that have gone about, that those teacher would never though that the student would make false accusation? Yeah it sucks, but thats how life is, the very few screw it for the majority in alot of cases. If you really want to solve this issue somewhat, than go to a guidence counsellor or principal, explain your position, and ask them to talk to the teacher about it, just use a reliable medium.

    Hmm...

Teachers are scared "poopless" of getting sued, they are probably told to do that, and there is a good chance it wasn't something she enjoyed to do. I am not saying you would do anything, but there are people who would, and teacher that generally try to do more for a student besides the standard teaching usually are the ones that get hit by it. False accusations work because teacher are only suppose to teach, if they become "friends" people will question because the teacher already step the boundary of teacher student relations, thats all you need to ruin your career.
