  1. I never said AA was good. Nitpicking doesn't help in the same respect. I was talking about the mentality. It's like Rich people complaining that poor people get assistance. Maybe giving someone money isn't the greatest approach, some people can even say it's unfair to those that work, but the majority of us don't have to live in that condition, so we have no understand of what it's truely like. I just feel the majority is in a better position to help out and not complain so damn much about equality when it doesn't affect them as much. This whole racism mess wouldn't be that much of an issue if that were to take place. To me it's just wasted time bickering back and forth about it. It's like people when something goes wrong, they spend 4 hours trying to pin the blame and is responsible for fixing it. Who cares, Just find the problem and find the best way to fix it, regardless of who's job or who's responsible for it. If we go this route it won't be till we breed ourselves to one colour, that we can live peacefully without all the crap, There are no need for games.
  2. You just can't let it get to you. It's their problem, no one here is all knowing. If someone calls you and idiot or act condesending towards you just ignore them, let them talk to themselves. Personally if someone does that, I'd be more inclinded to ask more, and stupider questions.

  4. The only problem I have is that for so long the majority has screwed the minority in every which way ignoring it because, well it doesn't affect them, but once an idea to equalize the playing field (regardless of how bad the idea is) They complain, "OoOo that discrimination". I'd definitely be more behind the idea if they were to focus on the problem, not add to it.

    '08 elections

I will miss Bush's speeches. "We got stay the course, and the course we will stay!" "I heard there were some rumors on the internets" *pause* *slight head turn* *smile* For me it doesn't really matter who is the next president. They all have equal blam-o-bility.
  6. I am sorry I tend to drive people away. *smells armpits* O_O
  7. I wouldn't think it would be too hard. You talking multiple sensors to one channel basically right? I guess you would need the software for one. http://instruct1.cit.cornell.edu/courses/ee476/FinalProjects/s2005/GKL6/476Final.html Is this what you mean? I think this is wireless but should be same concept.
  8. There seems to be some undertones of sarcasm in that message but I can't see them.
  9. F$*% that! Who in there right mind would spend that much, the lack of self control is FRICKEN INSANE! Is their life so incomplete that they would spend 9000$ dollars on a *shouting profanities* video game system.
  10. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend on public social health care, countries with more of socialist additude will spend more on it relative to their economy, and there is always limits, the pefect system is more of dream, especially when money is invovled.
  11. Yeah I think it's a western mentality overall. My parents and I came from the Nederlands to Canada. My mother was so shock to see how frequent people use medication and go to the doctors. I was hardly give medication ever, of course I would get plenty of time to sick it through (well that and this wierd tasteless bread and orange juice). Now It takes me 3 days to get over the same flu that others take a week and a half, if I even get it.
  12. Interesting. Is that for the head specifically (lots of nutients)? Is that also the specific aim of the female? For protection I guess it's pretty damn quick and effective way to kill something.
  13. If I called today, wouldn't know I've moved around too much and I haven't been sick in over a year and a half. I go to walk-ins if I am injuried, maybe 30 mins to 2 hr wait, depending on how busy it is. Hospitials are a bit longer 1 - 4 hours, (depending on severity rated by a nurse, that wait is like 15-20mins) I've heard all the horror stories though before of like 8-12 hour waits. It really depend on where you live though. Ottawa is a nice city(captial), I grew up in Hamilton, which, is...well...decent. It's not a perfect system, and maybe I am not the greatest person to ask because I rarely get sick or hurt, and when I do, waiting never bothers me. p.s. I need to stop using the word "though" so often.
  14. I think Canada has beem more of a social country in general, Our health care is pretty good from the start (I have not complaints anyway), but the waiting times were getting quite large, and adding more personale on the problem wasn't doing much either, so this was the direction that was considered. If the government is envolved there will have to be standards in place, the problem is, does the majority want to pay higher taxes for it. I am sure there are numberous amounts of consideration, like what benefits does the government get from it, are they getting more problems or in affect are they reducing problems in other areas. I think no matter what you change or how efficient you are, it comes down to money.
  15. ha I get it, I guess it was a give for me. We are considering developing a two tier system though. Which is a decent idea since people who have the money to pay for better services at hospitials(less wait times, etc) will be taken out of the public cue, increasing the free public funding and wait time. Some of that money could go to updating hospitials and such (whether it will be used for that is unknown, but I like to think positive).
  16. My theory is an exploding black hole (Or maybe implosion )! Don't ask me how it got there though. and with the uncertainty principal, I don't think you can gather information without some form of interaction. Which I guess could be said that the condition to measure is physically uncontrollable, therefore being a physics problem. Though If you could measure the effects of a single electrons influence on it's enviroment like space and that something like that would have a relation, you could possibly measure it indirectly, but who know if that indirect measurement doesn't affect the electron.
  17. You mean like "enchancers"?
  18. Err maybe I didn't express myself well (Statistics is not my friend, I understand basics of it though). Let's say you were to just take two people and compare them. One with an IQ of 120 (I think that's average) and someone with an IQ of 250. That's a huge difference, easily twice as high, but are they really that much different. The 130 difference, how much is that really. I look at this from an evolutionary aspect, that's why I threw in the "dangerous" question in there. At this point from a surivial point of view it almost irrelavent to be smart, you can surivive the same as anyone else. Maybe at one point especially with genetic engineering becoming more possible would that pose a problem (The curve shifting to the right and tightening), when lets say half the population has a huge difference in intelligence would they really need the other half to exist? I mean really I know I slow down society to an extent, I don't really contribute that much, and as soon as machines become far more smarter and technologically advanced, they won't need me (I don't know my IQ, only those internet ones, but I am sure I'd be at the cut off point). As of right now there is no really need to worry about it, but it might be an issue in the future.
  19. Yeah it's pretty good. The only thing I could think of was: 1) Scenerio: I check my stove/doors/tabs/locks/fridge/ like 2-5 times each night. I do it because I don't want my apartment to catch fire/leak water/have people walking in/ruin my food. I could just do it once, but the second I let go of whatever lever I touched, I get this uneasy feeling like it was an illusion. You know like when you think you've done something and check later and you didn't, even though mentally you pictured yourself doing it... It's not a particularly good reason, I haven't had a problem yet, so I know I am doing something right, yet still I do it. There is a fuzzy area where I can't say whether I have reason to continue doing it, whether my sub-conscious actions are consider to have reason, even then I could question if I am doing it sub-consciously. 2)Why do certian insects decapiate their mates after .
  20. No but that has reason behind it...like not dying.
  21. I do lots of things without reason...I am not "mentally ill".
  22. Maybe this is the wrong section... Anyway, I was wondering do you think or can you say with certianity whether or not intelligence varies in large amounts between people. If you took a population and gave them all sorts of test with several different aspects (Alot of people would find IQ not so great for putting a number on intelligence, but it is an indication of something, but for I guess best results or compliance, other tests would be done) of intelligence do you think overall there are clear groups of people that are exponentially smarter than the rest. Take people like Einstein (accepted as smart) and compare him to say an average person, how much difference is there. Do you think that it would be a dangerous thing if the difference grew larger and larger? A side question I would have is, do you particularly find having intelligence important? Personally I do, silently I like the aspect of being know as a smart person, even though I don't consider myself one. I personally believe that all aspects of a human being should be strenghened (Mind/Body/Whatever), even if you are limited, why not right? we've got time.
  23. Do I have to take notes for you?
  24. I want to get as much information as I can now, being a Metal Casting Technician (glorified titles ) , and wanting to advance my education later, it will help me make that leap when I get the money or assistance to do it. Plus...it impress people Thermodynamics is interesting for me, it's just like, they purposely find the most boring way to present it (well in books anyway).

    Voting security

I know it would be expensive, but I was under the assumption that the cards have to be replace every now and then, so this would make it easier to replace, without having to hold up the voting. I agree though there are a number of things that can be done, I guess it's just in a semi-serious state that people just want to test it out, or are aware of the fact that it's something that needs to be done eventually, but aren't really sure how to transistion it to reality.
