A better solution is to find out who like to fight for the cause, and those who don't want war, take the non-violent out for a while, supply the violent with limited ranged weapons and let them duke it out till no one person is left, re-move the non-violent back in, and you now have plenty of room for everyone.

what came first the chicken or the egg?
GutZ replied to blackhole123's topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
I've always defended the chicken because I count the first mutated survivor to be the first, to you know pass on "it's" mutated genes. If your counting from the very first instance that change is noticable though...well then...the egg. -
From what I read else where quantum computers have an edge in computing large equations, they don't particularly go faster than an normal PC. It's like having 50 PC's hooked together essentially. Is this correct? P.S. Go Holland!

I try to speed up global warming, but my lifestyle isn't fit for it. I don't have a car, I walk most of the time, or take a bus if it's "out of an 1 hour walk" or more. I'd use my A/C more but it too loud for me and I hate to disturb people so I only have it on just before I sleep. I smoke though, that's atleast one step towards my goal.

The only thing that bothers me with post-secondary education is (I guess I can only speak for Canada) that: 1) You don't need any teaching experience to teach or even take classes to teach. 2) Teachers (or instructors rather) go through a 3 month probation period and after that they are basically untouchable. I had an instructor and probably will have when I go back, that should not be there. Doesn't care at all, completely useless, yet still he's been there for 20+ years. He puts his overheads on and leaves to go drink coffee. You ask him a question he doesn't answer it (probably because he doesn't know). I've asked him a question about an assignment and in his exact words "Oh, but you haven't finished". Why would I ask him the procedure if I am finished? There are some schools that are just poorly organized and planned as well. I can't wait to finish and pay off all my debts so I can work and afford better education (hopefully company funded ). Everything below post secondary, you get what you pay for. I really hope Canada will follow the same direction as "No child left behind" act though, because it is getting quite brutal. No one can write proper English, including myself lol. I find though that if someone is willing to learn and wants to be educated, they will, ultimately. It's a bit of a bumpy ride with that transition from secondary to post secondary (without good education), so I would expect it help somewhat with that.

Does anyone watch this show? It's friggin great! Sometimes it's hard to tell if it serious or not. Everytime I've watched the show it makes me laugh. O'REILLY: Now, you are a wealthy guy, now and you have a house in the Hamptons, and you go to Nobu and all these swell places. What's that about? I don't do that. STERN: What, sure you do. O'REILLY: No, I don't. STERN: What do you do? You don't have a nice house now? O'REILLY: I have an OK house, but it's nothing like yours. STERN: You don't talk about — I live in an apartment in Manhattan. O'REILLY: Oh, come on. An apartment. You live in a big high-rise. It's... (CROSSTALK) O'REILLY: I live in a nice house but it's a regular house. STERN: You don't have a nice house? O'REILLY: I have regular house. STERN: You're going to paint yourself as some bum. O'REILLY: My car's five years old. I live in a regular house. You're living large. That's just gold. What do you all think about it? p.s. I live in Canada, I never hear anything about it or what people think.

haha ok, I am slightly starting to understand it (basic)! I will keep looking for your updates and links, I am very interested in QG. I appreicate all the effort in posting all this information; not only here, but all over the physics forum and sub-forums. I don't comment much but hopefully I will start understanding alot more in the many fields/sectors/groups of physics, and then I can, but I do read whatever I catch.

What about a growth defect? -
In alot fields of study I don't believe it has a major impact, but even in my plain metallurgy book a few things are omitted by the professor. I noticed alot more articles and information is gathered from internet resources because it alot easier to change a few chapters or concepts and print off that section only rather than reprint a whole book. I remember one semester I didn't purchase any books because of this very reason, everything was handed too me, and books were optional for reference (subtle suggestion of course, don't want the college knowing why there is a lack of purchased books this or tht year). Physics I guess you could say might become problematic in the fact of valid sources. I guess it would be difficult for the professor to take the same approach. I don't know how it works in that world so I can't really say.

I was impressed by the press conference. I didn't catch it all because I had to rush off to work, but it was very well done. What's very interesting is the high tech survilance equipment out there now. Computers analyzing movement from a video feed. It recognizes alot considering how basic the principle is behind it. Then there are robots that do the same. Studied are being done on human behaviourial patterns so that soon these computers can spot irregular behavior, which might minimize the programming need (my guess) for the above mentioned.

OOo! maybe I can try this to see if I can get my idea to work. I would be pleased in getting first. A natural reward! ...but if your still in suggestion for the literacy forum, you could make the prize moderation of a sub-section, like creative writing. I think if you get enough contestants, the winner surely would be qualified. Or maybe have like the top 5 winners put into a vote for moderation. Then again I doubt yall want voted in moderators.

"MysteryPoint" - A Point where Gravity works differently...

In the Nederlands there is a theme park called Efteling. The coolest park ever! There was this one "ride" that used illusions as well, it was pretty cool, it hardly felt like an illusion at all. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A738650 I totally recommend it. It's like a theme park on acid. -
lol I don't have shades, all those poor people. I am all for it btw, I don't really care if someone wants that information. Search results: Plot to destroy ISP HQ ; Crazy for Dummies; Ebay cheap hand guns; "ISP" sucks. I could have so much fun with that. p.s. I've taken the view from this moment, that anything that can give greater chance to start us killing each other, or ending the human race, the better. So in the future you know why I state certain things.

They had that exhibit at the ontario science center (I think thats what it called) It was slightly contraversial at the time. "When arts and science clash!" hehe. O_o

Maybe if a common ground was created you guys wouldn't bicker like little ninnies (HAHAH, ninnies..I crack myself up). I think everyone can agree that if statement X was said which severity of insult passed a specfic point like...the quotes stated, then it would be the wrong thing to say. Also the possiblity that statement X is valid, is questionable, given the media notorious exaggerations of these types of statements. There!

It's not a film idea really, its a way of filming, which I've given some serious though, but I do have ideas for films too, I am just too picky I haven't perfected them.
