That would be a sweet casting project for me. What are you using it for if you don't mind me ask?
-
Anyone have science related articles that they would like to see published?

Don't you think thats a bit dangerous? -
lol....Ok I am not definitely schizophrenic...lol...nor bipolar, if I am the latter....very low amount. I'll have to give it a brief history since I've seen a few people over time with different outcomes. Age 14: Clinicial Depression *High- Prozac (Not the brand name, I dont know) Age 16 - 18: Clinicial Depression *Mild - Zoloft (low to high dose) Age 19: *At this time, started wightlifting, depression was gone after 3 months* Age 20: Social Anxiety Disorder (and General Anxiety as well) *High to med*- Paxil Age 20 - 21: My specialist just gave me Zyprexa 25mg with my paxil. So its safe to say I had the S.A.D for at least...since I was 12. Thats all I am certain about, I remember him saying other things too, but I was on those drugs, and I can't remember. The point is though is that Doctors and Specialists most of the time keep people on drugs indefinitely. Take my Social "Anxiety" thing, it would have been fine to say lets try it for 3 months just to get your cognitive behavioural habits (I guess) in line then we can get off it. I was a reck back then so thats understandable. It doesn't work that way....within 30 mins of the first session I can already tell that the person is formulating what prescription drug he/she is going to have me fill out. I think it's more to do with the lack of range or time or whatever...They may have many patients aday so it's easier to talk for 45 mins jot down some progress and feed me some psychological dribble that (by now I am sure I am qualified to do) doesn't help that much, and then give me a sheet of paper. I've worked on it myself, and I've got it down to expectable levels now (whatever the combination I have) with exercise (natural re-balancing of sertoin and such chemicals I believe) and a little pushing, and toughness. It's only after all those years of picking apart what I've been told and reading up on it myself that I could do so, others might not be that fortunate. I am gathering this turned out to be more of rant. I am saying that only because I got out of it, others might be in trouble if they follow that path you know, and it's kinda scary for someone to be on Anti-Psychotics (which is normal now mind you for SAD, I believe) when its meant for higher mental illness. It's ideistically the best to go around to multiple specialists and such, but give the fact that the waiting lists are usually high, for a person who is highly affected by these illnesses, I think a stronger look at proper assessments and methods are due. I might beable to do that, but others may not. P.S. Sorry about my Mind to Text translation/and formating skills. I seem to just blob on a bunch of words with no order or structure...been trying to fix that, but I hope "Ya'll" can understand P.S. 2 If your having any reserve to express your opinion because you may feel that I will be offended, dont. I can take it!

Yeah quit ruining the fun YT2095! > lol You can hate people who hate celebrities! Then someone else can hate those who hate people that hate celebrities, and a whole infinitive thread of hate emerges. Oh the joy!.

Tom Cruise. (Thinks he's God) Ben Affleck. ( I just hate his face) Every pop/R+B singer with no talent what so ever (probably like 90%). Especially that guy with the f'ed up hairdo. ...and all the people that complain how hard it is to be celebrity with all the people following....yet they don't mind the millions of dollars. Where do they think that money comes from? It's for idolization (sp?) If it was merely for talents it wouldn't fall so far from the norm, like every other normal person.

I've been on antipsychotics Zyprexa a while, then stopped, They better find a better way to solve alot of these psychological problems because those pills are...unnatural. I'd rather live with my disorders than have to put up with those mental straight-jackets. It doesn't stop there. When I was younger they put me on Zoloft for depression and Paxil for S.A.D. The depression was taken away by me weightlifting (activity). I've been to many doctors/specialists, the works, after 2 sessions I am on some sort of drug I've never heard of. I didn't even know I was on antipsychotics till someone told me (who was in the medical field)...Schizoprenia, or Bipolar? I got 25mg of that stuff. Do these people even know whats it is like to be on that stuff? So are pills the answer?

Maybe its.... Gallery as in pictures or a gallery of names? lol even sherlock holmes will need luck to decipher this one.

I don't know who you are but Happy Birthday anyway! SideNote Happy One Day Older...errr... Day...tommorrow for YT2095

I've figured this all out! It all comes down to one thing...well two but.. It's Convience with lack of self-control. You could walk to the store, but its more convient to drive. You could make good food, but its more convient to pick up fast food (in your car no less) You could exercise, but its less work not too. You could go out and socialize, but you can stay home and watch movies/play on the net/etc. You could clean your own car, but its quickier and easier to go to a car wash. You could get your own groceries but its easier to get them delievered. For some people its a nessesity to have these services and conviences, because without them they could't do it alone. Well thats what I atleast believe..

What's not to like about engineering? Without them, science would be redundant. Scientist 1: Holy $@# I figured out time travel! Scientist 2: Sweet! Scientist 1: Alright...so we need like this metal box and wires. Scientist 2: .... Scientist 1: This totally sucks dude. You could figure out everything about the universe but that nostaligia only lasts so long. Now if someone were to take that information and find a practical use for it...You got evolution through creation and plenty of data to understand it all, evolving the science aspect. The Scientist/Engineer duo is like a self-perpeituation(sp? lazy) machine. Aerospace is pretty cool, I use to be into that, but now I am looking into aquaic/underwater (whatever you call it) engineering. Some day I will be an engineer damn it. Right now I need money so I stick with my metal casting technician program.

You can try http://video.google.com/ Seems limited. Apparently people doing dumb stuff takes up most of the interest therefore low science clips, more people running into walls.

I don't understand. Is that trying to say that since the base theory (broad view) is different (in method) then the theories that now being done in specialized/secular/branching method limits the validity of it all since it stems off the original base theory, therefore having no theoritical base of its own? Isn't that the point? I mean if you build a foundation for a house, do you need to build a foundation seperate for each section of the house, I am so lost with this.....

Where are the other 8!?!?!?!!? P.S. That joke never dies. When it really should....but thats what makes it funny for me, therefore having a purpose, meaning it shouldn't die.

It depends, here in Canada as a technicial field (that I am in), it only requires 2 math courses. That's a 2 year course of medium "college" difficulty, I started out in a three year program for material engineering techology which has 3 math course ( I took them all), but I was the only student mixed in with industrials and Mechanicals, and they keep leaving me out, plus when I asked where the course was taking me, they told me nothing, So I dropped down. Anyway If your really into Mathematics, and want a more scientific base, I totally suggest trying for University. Personally I want to go for my engineering degree later on, so this way I gain pratice experience and money to do it. First Math (course) Highschool review, faster pace. Second Math Logrithims/Business math/Imaginary numbers/little more advanced geometry/Trig/Basic force stuff Third Math Imperial equations/Blah/Differential Calculus I was furious with my lack of understanding of Calculus, it made no sense to me. I past that last one, but barely. The rest wasn't so bad, I perfer to get 100% and fly through it, because thats when I enjoy math the most because I completely understand it. Only advice I'd give is look at some of the topics I picked and get a high school review, scan the new stuff you don't know, practice the old stuff, and you'll be far ahead, college is....rushed, so you will be better off in that regards if your strength is math.

She has to learn that sort of thing on her own. You can't change the fact that she keeps picking the wrong people to date. She won't learn, life is rough and it can get far worse than bad relationships, I think personally it sounds like she needs to mature. You seem nice, probably responsible, and all those things. Reverse the roles here, say you were dating all these, "easy" women, and she liked you, but she nice and kind and that not really what your looking for. Now jump back to your normal self and view what advice you would give to her. Would you want her to constantly feel bad like you are now because of your (reversed role) decisions? So why would you put yourself in that situation. You both are human, your affection for her blinds you from seeing that you have equal value, and you don't have to chase her around. If your a nice guy she will eventually come to you. Deep down though you know what you have to do so this all might be redundant, just stay truthful to yourself and keep your self worth at a respectable level.

F'it! I have similiar feelings of disconnection except I have the overwhelming knowing of them being there, it's like being in a room full of different species. Nothing wrong with it, you might be sightly or alot different, finding it harder to connect, which isn't bad. throughout my life Ive have tons of friends or very little. It's all the same to me. I guess though someone shouldn't take social advice from me.

How do you all look this stuff up? I've tried so many times....TV shows make it seem so easy; just type in a last name...yeah right. More importantly though I'd like to know my families psychological background...

Ignorance? that is to be human. You think letting evolution do it bit is boring, and slow, but if we meddle with it (and we will) there is a possibility that we grew into some new and exciting but since we artifically created it, there is a chance that we stop evolution completely afterwords, due to lets say; improper genetic mutation. No matter what, every thing a human does will have some form of ignorance, we are not perfect and can never be, therefore we can't know/be-aware of everything, to not be ignorant. To put it even clearer... My post has ignorance, the guys before me and the guys after me will have some ignorance (probably less). Even your post has some, I mean how do you know we are limiting ourselves? Ignorance is always seen as a bad thing, but its relative, it's not all bad. It's envitiability.

I was looking around for information on Universe finite/no boundary theory and got this site. http://www.ians.org/big-bang-infinity-expanding-space.html It seems some what valid to me since I know nothing much about physics..period, well comparatively I guess. "The Big Bang So we've established that the universe must have a definite starting point. Could that have been an explosion of some kind, like the big bang theory suggests? It seems possible, but unlikely. As the theory goes the expanding energy from the initial conflagration eventually cooled and matter formed. Sounds simple enough, maybe too simple? As the universe expanded and matter condensed out of the cooling energy the remaining energy would have left the matter far behind. As soon as an object acquires mass (becomes matter) it must immediately slow to below the speed of light, while the remaining energy would have continued on at the speed of light. What you would have is concentric sphere's separated by great and increasing distances as each of the different sizes, shapes and masses of matter condensed out of the cooling energy. It's unlikely that much of the matter would have been able to combine with any other types and the universe would just be an expanding group of hollow spheres, no elements from the periodic table would have formed, or at least very few. It's possible that the big bang was MUCH larger than we think and the existing universe is the infinitesimal amount of matter that made it, but that would require drastic changes to most of the math and theories involved. This does bring up another interesting concept, the light universe and the matter universe. Big bang theory or not, any object in the universe that has mass must travel at speeds below C (the speed of light). So any energy emitted by the big bang or the massive objects in the universe should be moving at greater speeds than any of the massive objects can attain. Eventually light or other energies should leave the matter behind, far behind. The matter universe would be a smaller diameter than the light universe, like concentric spheres. Beyond the universe of matter the expanding universe of energy would be growing at ever greater distances, always expanding faster than the universe of matter can. If you could travel out past the universe of matter you should see nothing unless you turned around and looked behind you, light and energy should be traveling in one direction, out! The other problem with the big bang is the expansion of space.... Expanding Space The biggest problem with the big bang theory is the notion of expanding space. When we look out at the stars we see them moving away from us, and each other. The farther away we look the faster the stars and galaxies are moving. The big bang theory suggests that space is expanding, carrying the stars and galaxies with it as it moves away from the initial blast. The big bang created space, and time with it, each expanding into three (or maybe 4) dimensions. This poses several problems.... If space is expanding, do we really need to look to the stars for that? Expanding space would mean that the space between the earth and the moon would be expanding also, as would the space between the sun and the earth. And while we're at it, I occupy a certain amount of space which would mean that I am expanding too. That could explain why my college clothes don't fit anymore..... This is not trivial, it would change the figures that we have for gravity and the weak and strong forces and other observed properties of the universe. Gravity and other forces would have to work against this expansion, so the observed force exerted by gravity should be less than the actual force. And it should also change the orbits of the planets and their moons, comets, asteroids.... Each year the earth would have a longer path around the sun which would alter the solar year. In short, if space is expanding we would have known about it long ago and we should have to look no farther than our own back yards, literally. What else? Well, we know that space is expanding because we can observe distant objects in the universe and we see them moving away from us. That's a hint.... The universe appears 3 dimensional, so it's expansion should also be 3 dimensional. If the expansion affects light and matter passing through it, which is the basis of the observations made and the theory, then light would have to be diffused by the expansion. We should have no hope of seeing ANYTHING, especially objects that are millions or billions of light years away. Our own sun would be a vague blur. It's a wonder anything works at all! The energies being transferred between the sub-atomic objects that make up "me" should be deflected and diffused on their miniscule journeys between atoms and within atoms. There are other issues, but the bottom line is the expansion of space seems extremely unlikely." Alot of reading I know sorry. It seems too simple to disprove complete something like that but, maybe someone can express whether or not its valid and why so I can understand, and maybe learn a thing or two. Ever since I got into reading alittle of cosmo/physics Ive been hooked. It's worse than crack (not that I've tried, but you know)

Mr.D I think what's important, and I confused this as well, is that I don't think it has much to do with elitism or lack of imagination or stubborness (Maybe). Science is a fickle thing. It's very complicate if not impossible to prove 100% that a theory is correct. It's more of a beyond reasonable doubt since we are humans after all. You create models, then test them. I think what Einstein is more importantly saying is imagination is great to allow yourself to create these models, but they have to be logical for it to work in science. Think about it. How many Theories could you possibly come up without undeniable logic. "The sky is blue because god split the comic blue paint." Sure...that could be the exact reason for it being that way, but for "us" that's meaningless. You can't test it, it's not worth spending ample time working on getting these theories to work. Now if you propose something imaginative, present some mathematical work, maybe test it on a small scale, have it repeat more than once...now you got a good theory to work on. That's worth exploring, It takes Knowledge to get to that point but more importantly imagination to think up a new way or direction. Hense what Einy said. Let go of my Einy baby. (lol sorry had too) P.S. Also it ensures the right integrity of science. The methods of collecting and creating theories/evidence/etc has to be more than just thought. It's so that the science it self doesn't get lazy and sloppy, and thats important because it means nothing otherwise. Right? I hope I am making sense.

I think I had one of those before. I should try it out with these methods. I am not sure if what I had was lucid but it was cool none the less. I want to recreate that one I had...it was me DBZ style.

Well being that Ive been deemed to have GAD & SAD (General and Social Anxiety Disorder) I think I can bring a unique view on this. Since I am self-conscious 98% of the time I can tell you this behaviour is most likely natural at normal level. I do similar things but more to a higer degree. I sweat, have a hard time breathing, with some mild shaking some times when I walk by people. So personally I think it rooted in anxiety. The sniff can be a distraction, or the cause of a irregular breathing pattern. It's amasing the effects another human being has on someone regardless of what they are doing, they could just be in the presences of another and still affect them. Then again my reality differs alot from others.

Yeah, I know very little about physics, but intuitively (hate that word) seems correct. That's where I get confused with this, because is it really chaotic? Disorder and chaos are totally different things right? I mean if the world changed to a chaotic state vs a disordered state life wouldn't exist right? Anyways, intuitively isn't that the purpose of energy and such, or what it does naturally? I can't really find the words to explain myself here. Essentially though that seems right to me, I see it if it was the other way around life wouldnt exist (Energy, matter, time, and space)
