  1. awhile ago somebody posted something about a lemon eating contest and asked what would null the lemons tart taste, I just recently stumbled across a fruit which when eaten alters your tastebuds so that everything that enters your mouth for the next 30 minutes after use tastes super sweet. google miracle fruit.
  2. but probably not enough propulsion to make a lot of difference. it doesn't have to be totally "safe", as long as I don't die in the process. what I'll probably end up doing is make a sugar rocket and convince my teacher to let met light it off, won't be as cool though...
  3. oh and by the way, it can't contain any alkali's or dangerous, hard to obtain chemicals.
  4. I have a school project where I have to make a water-pressure powered bottle rocket (made from 2-liter pop botle). I'm wondering, is there any fuel I could coat the inside of my "rocket" with that would ignite when hit with water? I guess my question is if water ignited propellants exist and how to create some...
  5. I just heard something about salt-peter, sulfur, and powder sugar.
  6. what would be a way to make some small firework sized explosives (legal where I'm from) using simple methods and chemicals? probably even just some chemicals that make cool effects when mixed? (gas, colors etc.) if any of this is illegal to answer/post please delete and sorry for the problem. -EDIT- please move to applied chemistry, sorry for the mistake.
  7. yeah... by the way, whats used in alkaline batteries?
  8. fill a water balloon with hydrogen and throw it at the ground, you'll get some cool effects, the balloon feels like a regular air filled balloon but when it hits the ground it ripples. (worked for me)
  9. I know the dangers of both, there were some stupid kids awhile back at our highschool that tried putting a potassium block in a pool. you already know what happens next.
  10. try hackerslab.org everything you need to know there!
  11. well I found some for pretty cheap ($50 for 30g) I'm also considering buying some white phosphorus and potassium, after all, I am a teenage kid...
  12. well thanks for your help, yeah I think it'd be awesome to have a metal that melts in my hand, but $30 for a small marble in size I may reconsider, Is there anything else like gallium thats non toxic and melts at room temp? I guess it's also used in a lot of super computers (deep blue especially) I don't know EXACTLY how but I think in place of silicon EDIT (woelen): Merged two posts.
  13. hey I'm a teenage kid and dont know a lot of what I'm talking about or where to ask but... how do I tell how much/big 5 grams of gallium would be? I want to buy some but not if its not as big as I'm thinking.
  14. there are mp3's that induce this, I have a couple if you want to pm me, no there are no side effects its just... weird
