  1. How will you reclaim the silver on your wife?
  2. If you can find an old TV you can use a flyback transformer. An automobile ignition coil would work too.
  3. Do you remember a brand name or anything?
  4. Step-down transformers lower the voltage. A lower voltage would allow less current to flow thus making experimentation safe. Just find one of those "wall wart" transformers and cut the output adapter off exposing the wires. Then just find some suitible electrodes and stick them in a glass of water.
  5. I’m not really sure what you are describing but if you are trying to split water why not just find a step-down transformer? Also the thin graphite from pencils is not very safe with a current flowing through it. It gets red hot then explodes propelling red graphite around at high speeds. I have a scar on my hand from pencil shrapnel at 24v and can only imagine how fast it would heat up with 120v(or 220) . edit: also, it's safe to asume anything using mains electricity is not.
  6. Have you seen bismuth crystals? They are not really natural though. They are lab grown, and very easy to make.
  7. Do you really think knowing the difference between a wedge and an inclined plane is a good measure of intelligence?
  8. You're testing us?
  9. AHG! THAT MOVIE SUCKED! Ok sorry, No the whole concept was phony. As soon as the air came to the surface it would compress and heat up. If it did not compress then they would have suffocated. You can’t have it both ways. The only reason the air up there is that cold is because it is thin. Ya the effects were nice and it kept me entertained, but the science sucked, not to mention they blatantly forced liberal views on me the whole movie.
  10. Sounds like a government conspiracy. All the posters, except us, were murdered and all the posts from the last few days erased...
  11. Is it just me or were there a bunch of threads and posts deleted? There was a bunch of active threads today and now they are all gone. They all say they were last posted yesterday. I KNOW there was a thread yt2095 made today about heat but it is gone...

    Capacitor

I just noticed... Two out of the four ads up top advertise high voltage capacitors. And yet it doesnt do anything when I click on them. Not very productive advertisments.

  14. Ok why should animals not get to vote? It would seem that you think animals are equal if not superior in every way to humans, so why not give them as many rights as we give ourselves? I’m sorry for the sarcastic comment, but there’s really not much else to be said. There are no real facts to debate about because the question in post #1 has only been answered by opinions, and debating about your feelings and morals is unproductive to say the least. It would seem experimenting on inmates is the only other option and nobody, including me, is going to agree on that.
  15. Hey! He’s got a point. My dog has some valid opinions; I think she should be able to vote. I also think we should elect a chimp for president. Hey it’s not like the chimp being stupid is going to hold it back, being less intelligent makes you better then humans anyways...
  16. That was the point.

    Capacitor

They are filled with oil in an enclosed case so if it hapens to vaporize... When I was younger I used to have fun blowing the small ones up. Most of the time it just cerates a little pinhole and you get a little smoke bomb but other times they completly explode in a cloud of white smoke.

That’s why I said point the side with the grooves away from you. The grooves are there to channel the debris. And it would not likely cause instant death unless you have heart problems and you touch each lead with a different hand, and even then it’s not likely to cause death. The only real reason for using a bleed resistor in this case would to prevent the oil vaporizing and thus exploding. If you did happen to discharge a full charge through your hand it WOULD without a doubt leave burns and probably scars.
  19. But it is self defense. If sombody is liable to kill again, thats why they should be put to death. What if you kill to save your brother? Is that self defence? What if one person kills 3.5 billion people and is ready to kill 3.5 more but not you. Killing that person wouldn't be self defense would it? Is It hypocritical? I think not.
  20. Yes, yes it would be ethical. I was thinking No to unethical.
  21. Revenge is not the goal. The goal is to keep it from happening again. Killing them will insure it will not happen again while life imprisonment will not.
  22. How would that change anything? Do you think the person is going to be less likely to commit another offence afterwards?
  23. Right, So If your brother had cancer and you knew that killing a rat would save him you would choose to save the rat instead of your brother? You have got to be joking... I would say just about anything. I don't see your logic because it isn't consistent... ...Eating an animal so you don’t starve would ease your own suffering and cause suffering towards the animal.
