Thank you for changing the thread because I felt uncomfortable. edit: I guess Advark doesn't want to change the thread.

So if you are a creationalist and have the properties listed then you have the properties listed. Now I am confused. This is truely science at its best.
-
I'm not ashamed that according to some definitions I'm a creationist. Your are claiming this makes me stupid, insane, and unappreciative of science? Thanks, quite the thread guys.

I got a 4, anyone else take the test?
-
This could be insulting to those who thought they were upstanding regular posters in this forum, only to find out they are an idiot.

WHAT? Pickachu is that fastest character. I can beat anyone with the little fast firball. No matter how gay, it's functional.

"Monkeys will conquer the world" gets 415,00 results. "Inside out chickens discover new planet" gets 132,00 results.

Not the "theory is only a guess" thing again... It gets so old, and no matter how many times you use it, a theory is still a theory, and definitely not a guess. A theory has enough evidence to show that it is true with only the slightest amount of room for doubt.

You're right, it wouldn't be quite so black and white. If a nation thought it was a responsibility then it could be a social pressure to vote, or if they felt ever more strongly then could make it a legal obligation. The same with voting as a right or indifferent, I suppose.

Can someone explain this wierd BBC story to me?
-Demosthenes- replied to Pangloss's topic in Politics
Either Pangloss is right or the reporter doesn't write very well. It should be easy to understand something that a good writer wrote. I can definitely see where Pangloss is coming from. -
(underlinging question) Should voting be seen as a responsibility, or is it a right?

Leave before the country is organized? Hmmm, I'm not sure, but wouldn't that cause some problems? You know your run of the mill messed-up country stuff like civil war. I guess if you don't care about the people of Iraq then of course we should leave. Why waste money on some messed-up country that you don't live in, and that you do not profit from. All it does it cost your tax money and make your country more unpopular. It's not worth the lives of millions who live far a way that will never thank you. When did people become so selfish? Ah yes, the theory that we will be more liked if we pull out of a conflict that we started. Yes I'm sure everyone will be love us we invade a country with intent to fix it and then leave half way through. Why didn't I think of that? We need to look at history (the thing about the people that did stuff a while ago). There were a little bit more than a few examples of neglected countries and times when we did nothing and countries fell, countries conquered, countries were never the same after, and yes, innocent people died. Because of a philosophy we like to call: isolationism. Good thing some people care.

How so? Yes' date=' I'm glad that you don't think that I am. I just can't see why everything you have described can't be easily explained normally. That might very well be true.
-
Again when it boils down to it, it's wether you care what happens in other places thousands of miles away. Some people really just want to mind their own business, is that wrong? Some want to help others, make the world safer for themselves (maybe a little selfish). Theses are the same who don't have it in them to sit a watch. Maybe it's not the smart thing to do, maybe it's the wrong thing to do, but you got to try. Why care whats going on in Asia?

One could say that the things Bettina has described really can't be disproven, they seem ridiculously hard to test or design an experiment around. One could venture to say that the human mind is capable of many things yet undiscovered (or discovered by a few and unknown to the public). One can say that this cannot be disproven. Me? I'll go with skeptical.

You forgot a comma after "No"

Scientists are characteristically skeptical.

Pulp is da bomb. It's like eating a really juicy orange! (if you get enough pulp)

I agree it does make the whole sex-offender register less useful, and is terribly unfair for that poor guy.

The author of the post that preceeded the one that Phi replied to got BURNED! That's kinda about Phi. Edit (after Benson's post): It was as stretch I admit.
-
Phi's avatar looks like an eye and scares me Edit: YT beat me to the post.... YT wrestles with pigs.

It's probably important to remember that stuff like that isn't real.

I meant to imply that there are more factors to pulling out military forces from an invaded country other than how much electricity is being used. Was this not understood? I do not understand, however, how you got the idea that the government should not questioned or that the military should be unconditionally trusted from my post:confused: . But I suppose you can draw whatever conclusions you wish. Further, I think it would be nice to know if you are trying to turn this into another Iraq invasion thread, because I tire of them.

Benson's favorite area of science is Chemistry. (-Demosthenes- understands all the rules, after a carefull third look at the first post )
