Ah man, and I was so excited. Is anyone else very distrubed?

Does any one think it’s bad to look at it? Because I'm under the impression that it is bad. Why would parents not want their children to see it? I think that might be an indication that is could be negative. It seems the have similar effects to drugs, it's addictive, and it makes you do things that you normally wouldn't do. I see your points, I just don't agree with them.

Thats funny becuase that actually happened to me when I was a kid, except there was no gun, and I it really was me that broke the window. Anyway, the point wasn't that children shouldn't obey the parents when they think that the parent is wrong, it is that they shouldn't obey the parent when the parent is wrong. And another good point would be that a child who disobeys doesn't necessarily shoot people. And dude if you make a kid want to shoot you, then maybe you are doing a little something wrong.

Okay, I didn't make it sound a little worse than it was. It's more like two people talking that think completely differently. Some think very analytically, some base things on faith. In a discussion between the two the one will use facts and the other will use faith, and no one really understands the other, and frustration ensues. My problems as an early member of the Science Forums with regard to the Religious section were that I didn't know that much about science or even my own religion. I didn’t know how other people thought, I thought that everyone thought like me. So I think the main problem would be that religious people have to understand that that other people base everything on facts, that is something that I didn't understand at first. I wanted to tell everyone that the earth was not billions of years old, and that goo can't turn into people (long story) but I didn't use any supports or facts. I jus said: this is what I think, and someone would ask: well, why? And I became frustrated. I think that there is a barrier between the two types of people, and it makes people frustrated.

I think that the biggest problem would be that parents are lazy in a way. They don't do things consistently so the have to resort to physical punishment so they can get any discipline at all. Probably even bigger than finding positives and negatives is consistency.

There is a close relationship between religion and science, most science was once thought long ago to only be "Holy" power or something of that sort. There is a line between science and religion, I find it nice to disscuss where that line is, and find each other's opinions on the subject. Both groups think that the other's opinion is crap. Theists want to say what they believe and want people to beleive them, but they don't want any scientific talk about it, and athiest want to tell them that they are wrong and get very defensive if a theist says anything not scientificly proven.

I think you might be refering to Classic Conditioning. To negatively re-inforce a behavior you don't need to abuse anyone, you need to make the behavior negative by: In the absence of the behavior either apply something positive, or take something away that is negative. When the Behavior is used you need only apply something negative, or take something away that is possitive. To apply something negative does not mean abuse, it does not even require anything physical.

http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761579567_1/European_Union.html#S1 Aren't they elected? It seems that something is up. It seems that there is an elected parliment, but they have little power. Sorry for taking up so much room, and for going a little off topic, but I find I am relatively unaware of what the EU really is, I'd like some one info, and I'll probably be reading alot tomorrow on the net.

Churches aren't exempt from taxes, they get tax breaks from being humanitarian or a charity or whatever. Churches (most) have money, make money, and spend money, not to tax them becuase of some seperation of church and state doesn't make much sense.

Immigration And The Unmentionable Question Of Ethnic Interests

Yes, they could rule in the way that they are the biggest and the badest, or maybe they could find a more efficient way for brain function, but I'm getting off subject. -

If you are suggesting that reptiles will rule the earth then you might want to know. Reptiles don't have the metabolism to support a large mamalian brain that would be required to rule the earth as humans do. Just because they used the same idea doesn't mean that immigrants are slaves. -
There are some Socialist qualities, but we don't have so many that we require totalitarianism. We seem to have a demoratic-republic of sorts, last I checked.

Actually I can see the countries of Europe growing closer together in the future. Europe has been the main scene of many wars where European countries fought European countries, but now where Europe can really see themselves in terms of the world and not just their continent, and now that other powers are growing in the world, they might come together.
-
But much of that would naturally become part of the National identity. People that are similar or close, that form some kind of group, tend to band together and identify with themselves and the other people of that group. And it would be a natural inclination to take that further by seeing your group as different somehow, and more personal. It is human nature.

I was thinking the Europe had many different types of people, a lot of groups of people who lived in different places and spoke different lauguages. It seems the compitition between the people stimulated growth and made them more expantionistic. They would fight each other and try to take each other over, and when other lands were found that would be easy to take and colonize it was their natural inclination to take it, like the Americas other colonies.

Socialistic or Communistic values need a totalitarian government to uphold them. And Totalitarianism doesn't work well with people these days.
