  1. Of course, religion won't be taught in schools because there are churches with tax breaks. The Nation Science Foundation is part of the government, and they give grants out to scientists and researchers.
  2. Every thing that has to do with media is somehow influenced by politics.
  3. Very true. EX: With 193 countries (about) in the world it could also be said that: The United States is ahead of 75% of the countries in the world in terms of literancy. See how easily it is said different ways?
  4. Are there not science foundations or research organzations that get tax exemptions?
  5. Thah nothing to do with Affirmative action. No one is cheating, there is no reason to penalize anyone. It doesn't matter, the Civil rights law was passed a long time ago, Affirmative action assumes that this law is a bunch of crap, I however won't give up on that law so easily.
  6. The civil rights movement prohibited any discrimination based on race, gender, or age. Its already in legislation, we don't need anymore.
  7. Racism is using a person's race to judge them. Why should it matter, or why is it nessicarily related to class, if someone has a different amount of melanin in their skin cells?

    Ghosts

Have you seen the the bugs flying around in a video, when they look like some kind of wave, kind of. People thought of a whole theory of invisible animals that only cameras could see, and then they slowed down the film and saw that they really were bugs "oh, oops"
  9. Gender differences are a bit more of a problem, because males and females are actually different, whereas there is no real difference between the races. I could probably never get a job as a nanny, I'm a guy. I don't know of any women that will be able to play pro football (American). I think this is where the real issue is, becuase I'm not sure how it should work, I don't know what is right. As opposed to the blatantly racist aspect of Affirmative Action.
  10. If a system allows a less qualified person into a job instead of a more qualified person, or a lower scoring student into a college instead of a higher scoring student then that system is flawed. Affirmative Action assumes a couple things 1. All miorities are poor 2. Minorities can't take care of themselves 3. Minorites are somehow different from everyone else
  11. .2138 Haha no sheep were hurt in the making of this game
  12. Ooh, that was giggly.
  13. Sorry, I think I was taking about the image of the US over seas, in my last post I was saying that the dollor has looked mostly the same in recient history, and I meant to hypothosis why that is.
  14. I think it has been mostly the same, black ink on front, green on back, mostly the same style, in recent history where is would be important to maintain the image. ??? edit--- I got the about the money from a show on the history channel: javascript:openDetails('episode_detail.jsp?EAirId=14216926&page=listings') edit 2---- the link doesn't work it was a show called "Making a Buck" about counterfitting.
  15. I was thinking about how the US upholds it's "reputation" around the world, as the world police, or as a world power. The US seems to have a reluctance to change certain things for fear the they would apear different, or apear less moral. The dollar is used all around the world, not just in America. Lots of countries have change their currency so it is less easy to counterfit. Like Aultralia, they have plastic bills, they pretty cool, they are dang hard to counterfit. But the American currency has had the same look for a very long time. They change a little bit to combat counterfitting, but not much. It seems they have relunctance to change it much becuase if they do they might put the image of the dollar in jepordy. I thought about a few years back when someone took to court the idea that "under God" should be taken out of the pledge of allegence. Why would the government put it in the pledge in the first place if it wasn't for a reason? And why should we keep it. I was thinking that if it was kept it might create the idea the "God" is behind America. What do you think? What are some other examples?
  16. Yeah, I started to think it would be more cultural after a while of thinking, but these things are interesting to wonder about.
  17. I was thinking about evolution, and I was wondering what kind of effects the evolution of humans could have on what we do and like. Like how most people seem to prefer cold water over warm water, could that be becuase cold water tended to be running water, which had less harmful microorganisms than what tended to be in warm or stagnit water? What other things like that could there be like that?
  18. I thought officials in Iraq right after the elections wanted the foriegn troops out in 18 months. I don't remember where.
  19. Maybe you can subconciously find clues of what people are going to say, or what is going to happen, and when you're brain thinks it knows the information surfaces to concious mind.
  20. I get deja vu all the time. Its pretty cool.
  21. I thought a blue moon refered to having two full moons in one month right?
  22. Appeals and the need for "water tight cases" are to protect the innocent, which I believe to be a worthy cause.
  23. So is it possible that it was worth it, or was it just fought for selfish reasons?
