First of all, conservative media? Since when did we have a concervative media? It's very liberal as I see it. Second of all, can you say that anything I said was untrue?

Its merely a split from another thread. http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?p=128461#post128461

You are completely missing the point. People in a terrorist group are not protected by any treaty. It's fact not my opinion. The US happens to be a country, and is therfore is protected (nice try though). The people fighting in Iraq, the ones who are part of the Iraq army have the protection of this treaty and others, and the terrorist groups do not (plz try to remember this) I wasn't saying anything was right or wrong, I was merely stating who was and wasn't protected by certain treaties and you interprupted it wrong, many times.

Everything relative to the earth...

Can I ask why? -
Everyone is different. Can they not be treated differently? The problem with racism is that its based on the outer appearence of a person, which tells little of their character. But it remains perfectly okay to judge someone on how they think, if fact thats how most people judge others. So then why is it so wrong to discriminate against gay marriage, much the same as an employer discriminates against lesser qualified people for a job? Its not bad discrimination, its based on purely logical thought.

Who have you been listening to? The people were terrorized under Sadaam. The US helped the people overthrow the tryranical government, and the situation continues to improve. Just because a Nation is powerful doesn't mean that they are nessicarily the agressor, or that anyone assumes that way. People in Iraq can now vote with more than one man on the ballot, girls and women can now go to school and even own property (what a concept!) people have rights now! Why would you think that they wouldn't want that?
-
If the followers aren't "terrorists" then they won't be hurting people and blowing things up, so I don't see a problem.
-
How is it complex? Terrorists are dangerous and they chose the way they live, and they are not protected. Complex? No.

It's not obviously, but it is more comparable than john's post comparing it to racism.

How is that move relevant? -
We were talking about terrorists. At this time the US is combating terrorist organizations. When the US was helping overthrow the government all the rules appiled, obviously.

The US has taken a powerful tyrant out of power, and are combating the terrorist group that are terrorizing the people. Invating it made everything better, and things continue to improve. "Fighting fire with fire" may be a nice analagy, but it has nothing to do with the present situation. -
Maybe in the sense that they may be citizens, but they are not fighting in a war for any contry, they are simply a group who decided to kill people with the support or approval of NO contry.

Or rather they are there to improve the lives of Irag citizens. And if they leave now, before a democratic government is set up the things would get bad quick. -
It was written to protect people of a nation, not a rebellion or terrorist group, dispite what you or I think, thats what is in the treaty. So obviously you can lable people as terrorists.

The question isn't about valuing one life over another, its valuing many lives over the comforts of a single criminal one. -
Everything relative to the earth...
-Demosthenes- replied to -Demosthenes-'s topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
True, welcome back me. Heres what I was thinking. Most of the time you see things relative to the earth, but when you're in a car you move relative to the car and the earth looks like its moving. But to someone standing normally it looks like you are moving. So everything depends on where you are relative to. I'm relative to the earth at the moment so I was wondering if you could see movement of other celestrial bodies in relation to the earth. -
But it's more important than that. Terrorist groups aren't a part of a nation so they are not given this protection. This is not a "hollow point" that's what it was written to accomplish.

I think its alot easier to think of this one man's life personally, and take for granted the other lives in danger becuase of him. We don't know their names, we don't know who they are. We know he this man is, its easy to think of everyone else as just numbers. But there are faces behind every number. -
Post #102? My turn for a witty off topic remark. What's your point? Are you a racist?
-
It is important to note that the US isn't fighting a nation.
