I love my old TI83 plus. It's got a algorithm for anything. Just be careful not to clear the ram, all unarchived programs will be deleted .
Don't have any experience with higher math/physics, so I can't really recommend it, but I love it for lower maths (early trig/calc especially trig).
I decided just to get a northwood, a lot better than what I have (Celeron), pretty cheap, and it's more likely to work Would I need a bios update for that? (never done a bios update before ).
I think I'll stay with the old motherboard for now, I don't need too much. The only thing left I need to know, can I use the cpu fan and heat sink that my current cpu uses?
with a 400MHz system bus, would a 800MHz FSB processor be slowed?
Edit: it seems someone wrote to the company to find out exactly what processors the motherboard supports (http://www.help2go.com/postp13783.html), either Willamette or Northwood. How much of a difference is there between the Northwood (533MHz) and others like 800MHz FSB?
Is it worth getting a new motherboard, they're pretty cheap. (sorry, I'm new at this )
It's a IM845GL Motherboard, I think How do I find the socket size?
Edit: I believe the socket type is 478 pin, sound right? Would these two work?

edit2: decided to get the first Im pretty sure it will work...
I have a emachines T1842, and I've upgraded the RAM before, and put a video card in there, could upgrading the processor be a good idea? I've never done that before, how do I know which processors will work with it?
You could do this.
I like most of the menus though, I did take down edit and help, they weren't of much use. I've got everything into one bar (plus the row where the tabs go). Don't have any navigation buttons, use mouse gestures for that You can really customize it any way you want.
Or create other partner sites, like you guys did with the Theology Forums, or partner up with already existing forums. Maybe a science fiction forum, a political forum, or something like that.
I just re-installed Windows, downloaded a few programs (itunes, firefox, google earth, spybot, and adaware) and updated. I was looking through the processes to get rid of the usuals at start up, like quicktime. I ran into an odd one: crypt32chain, so I googled it. Everyone says that it's spyware, on a brand new install?
You can do the same things in Canada or the UK if you have the money. It only looks like you can get more in the US because most of the health care is paid for privately. You can get the same things other places, if you'll pay for it.
As for quantity, we get about 44% of our health care paid for publicly, while countries where medicine is socialized get 70% to 80% or higher. So we pay more and actually get less.
It's not subjective; look at the numbers. the U.S. spends half again (50% more) what countries like Canada and the UK who have systems based on socialized medicine.
And the U.S. only covers half what these other countries do.
It's a hell of a lot cheaper.
Picture the entire population of Kansas as young people between the ages of 18 and 45. This is the U.S. Armed Forces (counting ALL "troops" active and inactive).
Volunteers = Plentiful.
There's a lot of people in the military already, like 1.4 million altogether. That's 75% of the population of my entire state
