Are you trying to tell me they are incapable of suffering, just because their neural system is different to ours? Please explain, i don't know how "pain" is processed. I mean, they react on intense stimuli. Can we be sure they don't "feel"?

Still, messed up. Interesting, but NOT a valid reasoning! Anyway, i'm not sure this applies to ants, but i know it applies to cockroaches. Please, consult your informant or other source to clear your confusion. I can only clear your bank account. Humor Ant: "Dude, where's your head?" Bnt: "(morse-coding with stilts) .-. . .- -.. / .- -... --- ...- ." Ant: "What? That's messed up!"

So, i pickled that melon and i got some formaldehyde left; (semicolon valid?) approximately 500 ml. What'd be a productive way to maluse it? What else can i do with it?

That's... frankly MESSED UP! To say the least! Scientists... Humor Ant: "(counting steps) 34985, 34986, 34987, ... hey Frank!" Bnt: "Hey Joey! How's the wife and kids?" Ant: "Great as usual. You look fine! Have you been working out?" Bnt: "Yes! I'm glad it's showing!" Ant: "It surely is! Say, do you recall my step count?"

Yes, that makes sense. I simply forgot about the recognition issue. :/ Computers are still thinking binary, but my vision is, that, by courtesy of holographic data storage (and transfer?) technology, binary will be replaced and thoughts will be read (directly?). Wow, that sounds far away...

I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 and would like to know, if it's possible to change the default "documents and settings" user profile path to something shorter like "c:\user".

Nobody's any concerns about me preparing to take over the world? HINT: see my location!

I installed Xandros (debian) and Suse. I think both have the ability to partition. Was pretty easy. It let me set GRUB to autoboot Win XP after 5 seconds. Question: What happens when you try to partition a drive that's full? Will the content be erased or won't it work?

Why Does Water Make Me Sick?
reor replied to GrandMasterK's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
Have you been to the doctor's? Is it IBS? I'm sure i don't have it and am really interested, 'cause i've never met anyone with the same problem. -
Gee, i once had a weird dream about a rocky moonlike planet (or moon?) with little (or no?) atmosphere, water under the surface and some dinosaur-like creatures... I'm wondering if life could evelop in our current atmosphere. I've read it must have been different in the "early days".

I've been thinking about this alot and have come to the conclusion that world domination is a complicated task and difficult to accomplish. It needs alot of time and sweat, hence patience. Considering me being very patient and not having the handicap of [acr=IRC Transmitted Disease]"ITD"[/acr]s like most of the other candidates, i deem my chances for becoming [acr=Ruler Of The World]ROTW[/acr] the highest.

You Sir, are either a godly typer and i bow before your arts, or you are a slow thinker and have no imagination. (No insults intended!) But considering most people are exaggerating, let's meet somewhere in the middle, where I still envy your typing skills. I can visualize whole words and sentences in virtually no time. Can you really beat that by typing? EDIT: I can't type QWERTZ faster than DVORAK without messing it up. (Mind my german keyboard...)

Near Earth Asteroid Moon Hit...what would happen?
reor replied to RichF's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
So, how large would an object need to be to severely damage the moon or force it out of orbit? What vector and speed would be neccessary? -
That's what i was talking about, but it's smaller than the one with the bat.

I just visited that evolution generator site again and got something like EVOLUCDON on the first refresh and some dirty words afterwards.
-
I just talked my father out of trying some free betas like Vista and Office 7 with the argument: "Why do you think is Micro$oft giving it away for free?" Well, it saves them money. Dare imagine a beta of Word or Outlook!

What... is... that mantis... holding?... ??? Anyway. That centipede/bat movie makes it look smaller somehow, maybe, because its lack of colour. The other one with the mouse is more impressive. Really impressive. (DON'T LOOK, if you're soft-hearted!) Weird thing is i was afraid of small spiders that could do me absolutely no harm, but i'd even keep one of those murderous centipedes as a pet. I like their colours.

Why Does Water Make Me Sick?
reor replied to GrandMasterK's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
I had a similar problem; i couldn't drink pure water. It made me sick and i would almost throw up. Then i learned about "drinking techniques". Start with a little water daily. Take very small sips and a deep breath after every sip. It worked for me. (Not that i like water now, but i can drink it if there's nothing else.) Sweetening it with honey solves the problem anyway, for me. Sugar doesn't work. -
i'm not quite sure... When i was a kid they were just against "depressions" (suicidal trends, etc). Just some drawing, music, poets... you know, stuff.
-
I agree with SmallIsPower. Anti-depressants helped me get over the worst, but also blocked my creativity and "clear mind". Also, don't take the good things for granted! Appreciate every drop of water, every ray of light, every moment of joy, every moment of peace and freedom.

Yeah, but it's the same concept, or is it?

Fanatics always make it difficult for people like "us" to be taken seriously. Traumatic or life-changing experiences are hard to "imagine" or comprehend by someone who's never really been in similar situations. I'm sorry, i can't help you. All i can offer is comprehension and sympathy. gib65, thank you for your "heart spilling".

I'm also interested in this. We've had miniatures at home and tried different experiments. Food will dry out instead of decomposing, if done correctly. Important is the fact that the pyramid has to be oriented facing north and the object has to be positioned at 1/3 above basis inside the pyramid. The material doesn't seem to matter, but precious or semi-precious metals seem to work best. Try it out yourself! Which energy could be amplified? Would the electromagnetic energy cause such effects? Was this ever measured?

I've been collecting stones for awhile. Haven't come along that one, yet, tho. (Watch out! R€oR's trying to make a joke! Everybody RUNNN!!!!!) I also like to dress as a ninja and hop around on roofs after midnight. (Watch out! R€oR's trying to make a joke! ...) That was not a joke.
