  1. Ok sorry was in abit of a rush earlier In the reaction:(C6H5)3C-K+ + C6H5Cl. Liquid ammonia and trace KNH2 are used to get the product. I've been asked what part do liquid ammonia and KNH2 play in the reaction?
  2. Hey I must seem abit stupid but I'm doing a project and this question once again has made me come to a stand still:In a reaction what would liquid ammonia and KNH2. This is with a reaction of (C6H5)3C-K+ + C6H5Cl. Any answers would be much appreciated Thanks
  3. Thats very kind. Both have helped loads Thank you very much
  4. Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows what the neutral option is for the reduction of a carbonyl group?? I know about the Clemmensen and Wolff kishner but not this!! Please help Thanks
  5. Ah cool!Thank you very much:-) That question was on one of the past papers for my course and while revising came across it and was abit stuck! I do have more projects planned though so when I get near to finishing them I shall post them up if thats cool?
  6. I do apologise for the error I made,my brains been overloaded the last couple of days!!
  7. Ah fantastic!!Thank you very much:-) I can now relax and if a question comes up like this in my exam I should be able to do it! Beula
  8. Ok here's the question: Light of wavelength 0.50 x 10-6 m falls on a metal surface and results in emission of electrons of velocity 6.0 x 105 m s-1. Calculate the work function of the metal in Joules per electron.
  9. Redox reactions are reactions that involve the transfer of electrons between species. You have two reactions:oxidation and reduction, and these happen at the same time. Oxidation involves loss of electrons while reduction is gain.Just think of O(xidation)I(s)L(oss)R(eduction)I(s)G(ain)!!!These two reactions are in "half equations". For example: Cu + Ag2+ + 2e = Cu2+ + 2Ag + 2e so half equations would be Cu = Cu2+ + 2e Ag2+ + 2e = 2Ag Hope that helps!!
  10. I have one,http://www.myspace.com/dr_beula_phd
  11. Hey there Just wondering if anyone can help me,I've had a question about work function of a metal with a certain wavelength and velocity given but no mass of electron, can this be done??? Cheers Beula P.S anyone into forensic science?
