Gravity travels at the same speed as light...not faster. Nothing travels faster than light...

So this should be in philosophy? - I don't see why...Science should answer what, how and why...not just what and how...

...That is because we a sentient...but there are people who argue that dolphins are sentient...

Hello reader, According to general relativity mass curves space-time giving the effect of gravity... I have a challenge for you. Think of (a) reason(s) why mass causes space-time to curve. I have tried...You people are more qualified than I. So you should try too. There is no prize. Why am I making this thread? ...Because I haven't seen anyone attempt to answer this question of why. If you think of a reason you like I encourage you to make our own thread in the speculations section. I don't like equations...Try to not use them. You can add them to your post in the speculations section later. ...And the challenge begins in...1...2...3...Now...Enjoy! I will be interested by your attempts to think of why mass = space-time curvature.

It's actually fabric...paper is too brittle. And coins have value...
-
That sounds like a pricing system not a currency system. My solution is don't give money any value at all. That way you don't waste resources and actual value on things that: 1. Don't need any value. 2. Would work without value. 3. Gets lost, and damaged all the time. ...All you have to do is make sure the money doesn't get faked.

What if the ninja didn't know who his opponent was? They had only met that min/hour...

Okay...Chance be on your side in unifying the four forces. You may be interested in this slice of news I posted: http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/52700-physics-gravity-helps-unify-natures-forces/

...But thats the normal way of thinking...It does make sense...how can simply having mass effect space-time...DOES NOT COMPUTE... My problem is why does mass curve space-time. Then I thought about gravitons. Then I thought: Perhaps they are inside quarks or something as they have gravity. If gravitons generate gravity how can space-time curvature be the cause of gravity?...So I thought of this as I couldn't think of any other why that could be.* There are plenty who could help...it's just that nobody except you and Mr Skeptic has ever actually posted here. From the way I see it: Quarks have gravity therefore they must curve space-time. This means atoms curve space-time. And didn't say anything about matter refracting through space-time. Its is simply an effect similar to refraction. And that is the idea I dis-like most. Thank-you. *You said yourself..."I am currently technically a crackpot!"...Instead of trying to help me with my idea, as none of us know how possibly to try to improve it, how about you try to find your own idea of why space-time is curved by mass. I would be interested in hearing your idea and it may perhaps help me.

Nothing has free will...not even humans...we are all bound be the laws of this reality. If I had true free will I wouldn't have to walk. I would just hover above the ground in the direction I want to go...I can't do that, can I? Laws of reality prevent me from doing what I want to. There is no such thing as a soul.

Why has no one thought of this food product?
Incendia replied to Green Xenon's topic in Medical Science
It is actually difficult to make such a product... It's because of the strict rules you have applied. There is this version if you like: This product is completely organic and free of any pesticides, synthetic ethylene and other man-made substances that compromise the health of organisms and their human consumers. In addition, no organisms used in the product are genetically-engineered, pasteurized, or irradiated to any extent. Equally important is the soil and other conditions used to grow these organisms is healthy, organic, and free of pollutants. It is full of added vitamins and minerals. All organisms used in this product are raw. No substance in this product is altered at all. No existing substance in the product is removed. No substance, other than drinking water, is added to this product. This product is in small health-friendly, eco-friendly bottles. Five bottles per day should be consumed. The bottles are in a package and are of different sizes. The biggest bottle should be consumed in the morning. The smallest should be consumed in the evening. In between, are bottles of different sizes. Earlier in the day, the bigger bottles should be consumed and as the day progresses the smaller bottles should be consumed. This routine follows the saying “eat breakfast link a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper” – except the food is divided into 5 smaller meals instead of 3 bigger meals. This is an extra benefit to diabetes patients who are following this hypothetical diet. -
Let me re-phrase your question: Who would win? A highly disciplined killing machine or an assassin thug? I go with killing machine. < Samurai wins> Ninjas weren't as cool as people stereotype them.

I don't see any real reason to attach any real value to money. A monetary system would still work if the money was worth literally almost nothing. The system is there to standardise the exchange of goods. I would even argue against placing real value into money.

Why has no one thought of this food product?
Incendia replied to Green Xenon's topic in Medical Science
I doubt it would become beer...it contains 'shrooms and seaweed and a large amount of plants that would not ferment to become beer. You are more likely to end up with misc. plant/algae/fungus sludge. -
Why has no one thought of this food product?
Incendia replied to Green Xenon's topic in Medical Science
...Because: 1. Sounds like it would taste terrible. 2. Too expensive to produce, therefore expensive to sell. 3. As John C. said: "It would be undrinkable, and probably toxic, after a few days." and "the stuff would start to ferment in a matter of hours." 4. Surely the ingredients themselves would need to be added to the product...Sorry, I's<I was> being overly specific. 5. Free of pollutants...Chance be on your side in* trying to find a place like that on Earth. 6. CBOYSI* getting the funding to build factories for this product. Looks a place that grows seaweed, 'shroom, and all the various plants necessary would be difficult. Especially since you want such sterile conditions. 7. This needs to be said twice: Sounds like it would taste terrible. *I don't believe in luck...and good chance doesn't sound quite right... -
Yes. That would be quark gluon plasma. Which then quickly became matter. What's your point?

Again: These 4 videos seem relevant: -------------Watch the following two in order---------------- 1. 2. That Cyprus guy should probably watch them...

Okay...Gravity is a weak force. It is separate to magnetism. Electromagnetism is a stronger force than Gravity. The four main forces: Gravity, Electromagnetism, Strong force, Weak force. It has been like that for ages. Is this 'gravity being a form of magnetism' just your way of trying to combine the four forces? I don't like it. Gravity and electromagnetism are completely different for many reasons.

...I think Tony's answer was the most useful... So has anyone tried to measure 1Hz EM radiation?
-
My questions are: Could the EM spectrum go beyond Radio waves? Waves with an approximate wavelength scale of longer than a building...perhaps as long as several kilometres... Is it possible for the wavelengths to get to long that they become a flat line? On the other end of the scale, Could there be waves as shorter than Atomic Nuclei? As short as Leptons/Quarks? Could they get so short as to stop in a vertical line? It's just that shouldn't the end of the spectrum be where the waves can't get any long and are just a flat line and where the waves are so short the stop at a flat vertical line? These may not be visible in nature [we would just have to see] but perhaps we could find out in labs...Has anyone ever tried?

So the only differences are how how they are structured, sequenced and the fact leghaemoglobin is more efficient at attaching to oxygen. Would it be possible to replace normal haemoglobin with leghaemoglobin? What would be the disadvantages/advantages of having leghaemoglobin instead of haemoglobin?
-
...But what if it was already there...[As in it didn't only just appear...] The atmosphere makes our view of things in space fuzzy and bad...there would be advantages of a solar orbiting stations like the one I am suggesting. For instance being able to actually see parts of the sky and the sun at angles not visible from Earth...The advantages could be for study of the sun rather than study of outer space. We have sent loads of space junk up...at least even if this did end up being space junk it would be better than the other space junk...

It isn't a branch of magnetism though...where did you hear/read that?! Gravity is it's own force. Define it as: That force...you know...that one that everything with mass has...that force that pulls things with mass closer to each other and if it wasn't for other forces would mean that the universe would have stayed a singularity.
