Isaac Newton showed how a painters Palate could be produced from light through a prism. Monet used this spectrum of color in his paintings. See the following :- COLOR THEORY IN ART SIR ISAAC NEWTON (1643-1727) The refraction of light through a glass prism. This simple experiment demonstrates that color comes from light - in fact, that color is light. Scientists investigate the properties of color theory whereas artists explore its visual effects. IMPRESSIONISM AND LIGHT CLAUDE MONET (1840-1926) 'Rouen Cathedral in Full Sunlight', 1893 (oil on canvas) As the Impressionists had to work quickly to capture the fleeting effects of light, they had to sacrifice some of the traditional qualities of outline and detail. Nevertheless, the freshness of the Impressionist technique instinctively appeals to most people, and most painting since has been profoundly affected by it. Claude Monet, the greatest exponent of the Impressionist style, created several series of paintings exploring the effects of light. The illustration above is from a series of around twenty paintings of Rouen Cathedral (1892-94) which show the building at different times of day, at different times of year and under different weather conditions. What about the possibility of contact with other possible life in the universe, who may be a little further forward in utilizing quantum phenomenon, that we have not yet harnessed or " listened to for any contact " . Say taking a probability wave function of an electron and modulating the wave say 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 oscillations out from the central peak . ( should get a few miles out . ) Then as the electron very very occasionally makes an appearance at Alfa Centauri we may get a contact provided they reply on the same method Mike

I have tried to find this Clip, but there appears to be some difficulty with this side of the Atlantic Ocean ( I appreciate this does not bode well for my sea born Navigating Skills ) But there you go ! Mike -
Yes, Well any theory really. Its just that quantum sized objects possibly have more influence as the size is near to the probability wavelength. Where, on the larger scale, it still applies , does it not, to world sized , its just surely the probability wave tends to make its probable location nearly imperceptible, to where you really think it is. So , Yes , Observation seems to have risen its head at quantum atomic levels with things like The Double Slit experiment, and Shroenigers cat Phenomenon, Quantum tunneling and the like. but that does not exclude things happening elsewhere, like Roger Penrose's Microtubules, or at much larger scales. There does seem to be more and more research being done on the effect of conscious influence on our selves and our environment . Also in other, as yet , undiscovered regions of endeavor . Also as regards Aliens. Well if there is,/ was life somewhere else in the Cosmos . surely We would be the aliens to them. or if we were to feel more friendly about other intelligence existing in other regions of the Cosmos we might think of them as colleagues, with an interest in some form of communication , in what ever form that might take. We do , as a world seem to be showing some form of interest in ' other life ' elsewhere in the universe. ( searching for evidence ) Surely it could be:- A) lower life forms, B) Equal life forms, C) Superior life forms. It might behoove us at this stage, HOW we might communicate with any of these three now rather than later. As a race, we do not have a terribly good historic record of dealing with other life forms either superior, inferior or equal The One that interests me the most is superior or maybe a little advanced than us.The reason being , both superior or slightly more advanced than us , would have already 'sussed out' how to communicate with other life forms. And in fact may, as we speak, be currently trying to communicate. But maybe we are NOT listening. Or at least not listening in the right way. Also on this question of I must say I have tried to think about this , a bit . A) is it a bit of confusing misnomer. if it is just an interaction. B) Rather exciting, if interactions are having the influence that we ascribe to Observation, Then " the cosmos is being made " by all these interactions going on remotely , influencing ,all over the place , in the way we describe the "effect of Observation " . Whether this is pure interaction and/or actual conscious observation . mike

Several questions arise with this idea of observation? * is the observer an inert , mechanical device or something which is conscious and aware . * does this make a difference to the effect. * is the observation passive ( just information gathering ) or influential in that the observation stimulates some other operation. What state would the particles be in at this time ? And what would the charge be doing at that time ? Or are you saying the immense temperature causes the charge to form ? What does the picture of the standard model look like at this time ? Still like This ? Or what quite ? There are two different resistances here with also two different conditions of operation. This is a beautiful component - The Capacitor Modes of operation. 1 . A changing voltage ( say changing from 2 volts to 4 volts in a certain time, say a few microseconds. One special version of this is an alternating change in voltage and polarity ( + to - and - to + ) thus an alternating change in current AC. 2 . A fixed level of voltage say 5 volts . Or slowly changing . Direct current DC. There are all sorts of resistance and impedance at work here. Resistance has connotations more around DC . Whereas impedance , more around AC. Although conceptually they have a similar feel about them . Namely how far is the device going to ' resist ' . Impedance however brings in a whole other area of science (phase and imaginary numbers i or j ) Try not to run away screaming as this is possibly where the beauty lurks. Under DC operation, any resistance present in the capacitor will resist more like a conventional Resistance. Along its plates it will have LOW DC resistance. Between its plates it will have very high DC resistance . Under AC it will resist and react in a more complicated way, and bring in other factors , like ' how fast does the voltage change' and ' with what frequency does the voltage change from + to - . At AC . Between its plates it may offer a low impedance ( sort of equivalent to resistance ) , allowing an AC signal to pass easily , where it offers high resistance to DC. , thus keeping DC isolation. These attributes are not to be minimised, as in fact they make up the beautiful characteristics of capacitors , which have put them in the one of three / four dominant components , in electronic circuits over the last 100 years. Namely 1) capacitors, 2) resistors, 3) active devices ( transistors / valves ) and 4) coils or inductors. { Eek ! what are valves I hear the cry } . The particular attribute of capacitors, It all rather depends on what are the requirements called upon by the capacitor as a specific component. To store, to stabilise, to oscillate, to isolate, to time, to change the phase ? Mike Ps as regards what is actually happening at an electron and charge level , is even more fascinating.!

I am not sure what you are hungry for? If you are hungry for a lot of resistance Meg Ohms then you will be safe with high voltage as it will limit the current to a safe level. If you are hungry for very low resistance then Oscillation and resonance can be achieved with the coil - capacitor tuned combination. If you are hungry for time control, or just control, then a chosen resistance and/or capacitance, can give a precise - Time from Nano seconds to hours.., or precise values of a variable. Mike

Am I right in speaking in terms of the ultimate initial potential to be surrounding the characteristic of CHARGE ? Or is charge just one of several other ingredients ? Such as Spin ? chirality ( handedness ) ? Or do the other ingredients stem from Charge. ? Or, Are we content to sum everything under the term ENERGY . But what is that ? Other than : - Energy makes things happen ! Mike -

1 Farad that is a mean capacitor. I used to work with a company that built magnetisers , using Large capacitors in their equipment to manufacture Magnets. Someone I noticed had left a magnet on the magnetising Coil . I shouted out " Don't anyboby press the Big Red Magnetising Button. "Alas my words were too late , somebody pressed the Magnetising button ...before my words were out. The Large Farad Paper capacitor , discharged through the Magnetising Coil. The Magnet that had been left on the Head shot across the Factory like a '303 bullet .. Your eyes could not follow it. It was too fast. They used to keep the terminals of these capacitors shorted out when storing them , otherwise somehow they would self charge from stray static electricity. They could be quite dangerous if someone accidentally touched the terminals. It would be like being struck by lightning. Mind you I met someone , who had been struck by an electric cable on an electric pylon , that killed him . He Died. But fell out of the tree. When he hit the ground , the impact resuscitated him. He said for two years he lived with permanent ( De Ja Vue ) mike

The relevant components in the transmission device or circuit above ,are primarily the ( L. Coil, Inductance, having a magnetic field ) and the ( C ,capacitor, having an electric field engendered between its plates in a dielectric ) and the antenna ( making the oscillating E-M electro magnetic fields head out into space ) . The need for resistance to be low in both the capacitor and coil is so that the oscillations can be large( not damped ) . Useful analogies ( models) are 1. A wine glass being held tight to a table, empty, and gently rubbing your damp finger around the rim. Get it right and it will sing like a canary. 2. Stroke a violin bow across the centre of the string of a violin , and enchant the audience. 3. Hit the loose end of a tuning fork , and place on a wooden table and hear the note. ( and probably just scratched your dining room table. ) Each has a ground , to work from , and free loose ends to vibrate or oscillate . In the case of the coil and capacitor , the power supply end , and the earth rail at the bottom act as the fixed ground state to work from . Somewhere in the coil capacitor combination an oscillating electrical and magnetic field is vibrating at millions of times a second. ( like the vibrating wine glass but you cannot see it. If you can capture this , and send it to an antenna and the area around the antenna, you can send this oscillating E-M field away into space at the speed of light. That is the miracle. To make this process be efficient you need the resistance to be very low in the capacitor, and in the inductor. Big ,thick copper pipes( coil) and aluminium plates (capacitor) . In the older BBC transmitting stations these two components looked more like household plumbing water pipes , and sheets of aluminium. Nowadays you are probably thinking more of resonant cavities in a magnetron , like a microwave oven has in it. These are Not good to experiment with or you will cook yourself. But a coil and a capacitor can be great fun. Keep it small power or you will cause interference. You will note the driver ,in the circuit ( a transistor giving a signal frequency ) , this being equivalent to your finger on the wine glass. This supplies the small seeding oscillation to make the high Q ( coil and capacitor with low resistance ) , sing like a parade day lone trumpeter playing a single note into the sky and hills beyond ! Mike Ps For long distance experiments. You will need a licence.......... Not for blowing a trumpet !

The Transmission of Radio Frequencies is often accomplished by a Capacitor Coil combination, as the Driver of an Antenna . The following link illustrates various circuits where a COIL and CAPACITOR in various combination appears next to the Antenna. ( symbol V with center I .) . So charge is very integral and spread out across the particle aspect of the universes construction. The sum total of all those charges across all the particles present in the original universe soup or plasma or fireball must add up to some colossal value of charge, which could be that original charge that I previously spoke of. Or was this charge developed by the origination ( by whatever means they originated ) , of the particles themselves. Like , if you hit a body of water with a 'bl......y great metal plate'. A mass of bubbles would be formed each containing a small amount of elastic energy in the bubbles , whose sum would equal to the kinetic energy of the 'bl......y great metal plate' as it smashed into the body of water. mike Ps I suppose that could also apply to the spin content, and mass contest -

The functioning of a capacitor is radically different when working in the different modes Direct Current ( DC ) and Alternating Current (AC) DC . can be a storage of Charge, stabilizing a voltage level . Internal resistance will affect the rise and fall time of the voltage level AC . The capacitor can be used to conduct a signal (ac) from place to place while offering DC isolation. Also and possibly its most intriguing, It can be used in AC mode in connection with a coil or inductance to produce a resonant or oscillating Signal .Here the internal resistance of both the capacitor and coil can effect the 'Q' of the combination. . This is a sort of gain or efficiency of the combination , which if very high 'Q' in of value, and is very useful . Used in transmission of Radio waves across vast distances. Mike
