  2. This is a highly readable and entertaining book that tells the story of the many brilliant, often eccentric scientists who fought against the establishment idea of an eternal and unchanging cosmos. From such early Greek cosmologists as Anaximander to recent satellite measurements taken deep in space, Big Bang is a narrative full of anecdotes and personal histories. With characteristic clarity, Simon Singh tells the centuries-long story of mankind's attempt to understand how the universe came to be, a story which itself begins some 14 billion years ago (give or take a billion years). Simon Singh shows us that it is within the capability of all of us -- in his expert hands -- to understand the Big Bang: the fundamental theory in all of science, and a high point -- perhaps the high point -- of human achievement.

  16. Around the corner I have a friend, in this great city that has no end, yet the days go by and weeks rush on, and before I know it, a year is gone. And I never see my old friends face, For life is a swift and terrible race, He knows I like him just as well, As in the days when I rang his bell. And he rang mine but we were younger then, and now we are busy, tired men. Tired of playing a foolish game, Tired of trying to make a name. "Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim Just to show that I’m thinking of him." But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes, and distance between us grows and grows. Around the corner, yet miles away, "Here’s a telegram sir," "Jim died today." And that's what we get and deserve in the end. Around the corner, a vanished friend.

  22. Choose one of the right answers:- A particle is thrown up vertically from a vehicle moving in a small path(with respect to cart). If we neglect dimensions of cart: 1) The particle will land back in the cart 2) The particle will land outside the circular path 3) The particle will follow a parabolic path 4) As soon as the particle is released it's acceleration becomes zero.
