Good afternoon everyone,
I am in the process of making a micro ornithopter, and I need to calculate how big the wings have to be, and how much lift they will create.
(The Body at present weighs 25grams)
1. Is there a formula to calculate the wing area needed to lift a certain weight
2. Are there certain degrees the wing has to move through (whilst flapping) to create this?
I have a few more questions but these can wait for the moment
kind regards

Hello Everyone, Anyone
I have recently built a model Rocket (Q-Modelling Nike-X) and I am interested in finding out how many Newtons of thrust I would need to launch it.
The total weight without the motor at present is 330grams, is there a simple equation I can use to work out the above.
Also could someone please explain g = 9.81 m s-2
It's the -2 (per second per second) I can't get my head around???
kind regards
