After doing a little extra reading, I'll concede your point. I'd always heard it as being a Catholic v. Protestant ordeal, and perhaps it is now, but it started out because those tags were a commonality to different social classes. Anyway, I learned something new today, so there you go! Regardless of that, you cannot possibly deny (for instance) that the crusades and other types of holy wars were/are not based in religious ideology.

Then your teacher is incorrect. The name is as you've stated it above, although there should be any spaces in it. There are in fact a couple of ways of writing the name, though yours would be the more common.

Almost. When you're ordering the substituents in the name alphabetically, things like tert or iso aren't considered. In your case, that means the butyl group should come before the methyl group. Also, commas only go in between the numbers. Where you've put a comma after 'tetramethyl' and 'butyl' you should have a dash.

Not quite. You've recognised that the parent chain is 10 carbons, which is correct, but you've muddled up your substituents. There aren't any ethyl groups, for starters. Also, if something has more than one group, you would have to put both numbers in front (e.g. 2,2-diethyl or 2,5-diethyl), not just one. You also would list a group more than once - e.g. you wouldn't say 2,2-diethyl-3,5-ethyl (which is wrong anyway, since the second 'ethyl' should be diethyl since there's 2 of them), you would say 2,2,3,5-tetraethyl. And make sure you remember your syntax (i.e. placement of brackets and commas).

Firstly, there is a difference between insulting a person and insulting their ideas and secondly, because I can't for the life of me see where the two posts you've quoted are insulting.
