You should be familiar with VSEPR if you are doing these sorts of questions. Have a look at the central atom in each case, count the number of electron sets around it (i.e. the sum of the number of things bonded to it and lone pairs) and have a think about what sort of geometry it would adopt for all of those sets to be as far away from each other as possible. Remember also that we ignore the space occupied by lone pairs when we describe the shape of a molecule. If you have a copy of Blackman, there is a good reference list that allows you determine geometry based on this.

http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/88546-is-it-normal-to-lose-a-dangerous-amount-of-blood-from-small-wounds/page-1#entry862830 A question of why Acme's post was removed, when other member's post was not. It is not uncommon for us to only remove posts that continue to derail a thread after a modnote has been posted. Not removing a post is not an open invite for others to continue down the same line of off-topic conversation. That much should have been blatantly obvious to anyone that had bothered to read the mod note that was posted. To be clear, we only punish members for infractions they commit on this site. Comments about a member based on their behavior elsewhere are very much off topic - for this thread and most others. If you believe that staff should be given a heads up about someone, PM them. -
! Moderator Note Acme, you might the big green note I made above, whereing I requested another member to leave drama from the other forum at the door. Did you think that wouldn't apply to you too? Stay on topic, please. I have removed your comment and I will be removing any more comments that derail this thread. ! Moderator Note Hi BadSciencer, You might have noticed that this forum is not the forum from whence you came. We appreciate your insight, but you would do well to leave any bad blood at the door when you come in, as we do not punish members for their actions elsewhere on the Internet. Unless you have something constructive or relevant to contribute here, kindly don't bother. Do not respond to this note in-thread.

! Moderator Note exb, this forum is not a place for advertising, no matter how well-intentioned. I have removed your links and will be closing this thread for the time being.

! Moderator Note That's it. You're out of here. I'm suspending you for one week, but don't be surprised if we extend that indefinitely.

! Moderator Note This isn't a conspiracy forum. If you have evidence, pony it up, otherwise this will be closed.

Define a Logical Fallacy?

Evidence enters into it when you make claims such as, 'men don't like competing with women.' If you make statements like that, you need to be able to back them up with evidence. If you can't, then your premise and the ideas that you draw from it have no basis.
-
Not to mention the political hurdles. At least one of the two major parties expressly forbids the establishment of nuclear platforms as per their party policy and the larger of the minor parties, which has significant sway in the senate, are the Australian Greens. No points for guessing where they stand. Practically speaking, one year seems far too small a time frame for such a project.
-
Shame on me? You're the one making ridiculous statements with undercurrents of sexism here. All I'm asking you for is some evidence to support the central premise of your claim. If you can't do that or if you haven't already, then how can you expect anyone to take what you're saying seriously?
-
Is this you saying that you have no evidence? The rules happen to require it, so you would do well to provide it or this thread may end up closed.
-
Scientific evidence that such a claim is based in reality and not just in your head.
-
Actually, we're getting into cite your sources / back up your claims with evidence territory.
-
What? My use of the word preconception comes from the part where you claimed that you are annoyed by females with certain traits being your boss, but not males with the same traits.
-
Fit into what, exactly? You're not doing a stellar job of outlining what your point is here. Are you trying to ask how male competitiveness fits into your feelings towards female colleagues vs. your male ones? I'm not sure that it does. However, I think sexist preconceptions certainly do.
-
Emphasis mine. It seems like the problem is with you and not with them.
-
Only if you view your female colleagues as being somehow different in their ability to do their job to your male ones (or to yourself). Is this the case? You haven't really outlined what your problem with your boss is / was.

! Moderator Note I have removed the last few posts in this thread. randomc, outbursts like that can result in an instant ban from this site. Please keep your abusive and unwarranted comments to yourself.
-
! Moderator Note Offend? No. However, it is against the rules to use this site as your soap box. You are required to provide a testable model for your idea. You have so far failed to do this. If you cannot do it within your next post, this thread will be closed.

! Moderator Note Please seek help from a professional. This is not the place for such advice, as has been said. Thread closed.
