Do you mean his son, Rand Paul? Ron Paul has stated that he won't be running in any more primaries. I think most of his (Rand's) support would come from the people who supported his father, which was not nearly enough to get Ron through the 2012 primaries and will most likely not be enough for Rand in 2016. As well, some of his opinions of late aren't conservative enough for most Republicans / Tea Partiers (e.g. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/25/rand-paul-abortion_n_5213294.html), so he may even lose some votes from the far right / libertarian base. Possibly he'll run in the primaries, but I seriously doubt he'd get much further. Especially with other candidates like Cruz or Rubio in the mix.

Not really. The silica on the TLC plate or in a silica flash column forms a matrix in which things can bind reversibly. As you pass through a solution of a compound or compounds in solvent, you get competitive binding into these pockets, with the more polar compounds binding better than less / non-polar compounds. You end up with a situation where non-polar compounds move further up the plate than those that are polar, as the polar compounds are constantly getting stuck (for lack of a better word) to the silica as they move. This is a good overview of the concepts.

This would be a bit odd. Proper reaction protocol will always tell you how much in total of each reagent you should be adding and of course, reactions take time. But yes, this is is all pure speculation and of no use until the OP can provide more information on what they are actually doing.

And that is totally ignoring the potential environmental impact on marine ecosystems, which may not seem relevant to your view except for the fact that we (and many other organisms) rely on marine life for a lot of things. The main argument of any specificity that I have heard is to do with how long it takes to decommission nuclear plants. I'm by no means an expert on the subject and I'm sure there are many more specific arguments from that side of the fence, but that aspect does appear to be quite costly. That in combination with the general fear of nuclear and popular perception that such plants have a high potential to do a lot of damage makes them a risky product to endorse. Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with the idea provided that the plants are designed, regulated and monitored appropriately, though I'd choose renewables over nuclear most days regardless.

A quick Google search suggests that it is used at such doses for acne in the alternative medicine circles. I did a cursory search and didn't note any decent scientific literature in support of this, though I did notice a lot of anecdotes reporting that any outcome was both temporary and came with side effects (hair loss, dermatitis around the nose and diarrhea were a few). Even if it does work, I would question whether it is actually worth it. Putting aside the fact that this endeavor is mostly without grounds and seems a bit pointless and given that you yourself are fine with swallowing the pills, I'm not sure what your specific problem is. There are of course many ways to skin a cat, but taking it in pill form seems the easiest route to me. What exactly would you envisage as a good alternative?
