I think it was originally a mutation but then we grabbed onto it because it was good. Though it would make sense if it had been bred to be that way.

I havn't been keeping up witht this topic, just so you know. I don't know much abut the biodiversity side. What I have to say is that when the scientist activates a certain gene in a plant, you don't know for sure thats all your turning on. There could be unforseen allergies or other thing that may screw with stuff. I'm perfectly happy to eat GE foods as long as they've gone through rigorous testing.

Yes I thought I covered all my bases there:D I'm sure some people will bitch, people always do. Just to give an example of how frusterating it can be, In my home town we have a lot of native Americans. Nothing wrong with that. Here's the problem. Natives don't have to pay sports fee. In fact, they are PAID to play sports. While white kids get pounded with rising costs. DO you know how many Natives we have on our sports teams? 2 or 3. Another thing, many indians get free lunch. One kid who thinks I'm his friend rgularally tells me that his lunch tastes great because my parents are paying for it. And I want to kill him. This kid is going to grow up into a leech of society. And everyone here will be paying for his beer in the form of welfare. At our celebration of cultures day, all we did was learn Indian dances. Most are on IEP's because of Bush's No Child Left a Dime. Most of them are just lazy. The indians got dealt a shitty hand. Black people got dealt a shitty hand. But there is no reason for white people to keep apologizing for thier ancestors mistakes. Again, I'm not trying to be racist, but if you are offended, I don't care.

Good for them. I've often thought about this. You can have black history month. Hispanic history month. Hell there is a National Frozen Food Month. But anything celebrating solely white people is racist. I don't want to sound racist because I'm not, but I think there is to much time and money devoted to minoritys. What Sisyphus said, I've also been screwed by affirmative action. They are important, but they are a minority. Treat them the same as the majority. Which is why I have trouble grasping the concept. I'm not into physics. In biology class we just finished the classical genetics unit. I ot this question wrong on the test, Cross a Homozygous Black (BB), Homozygous Running (RR) mouse with a brown (bb) walzting mouse (rr). My answer looked like this RB RB RB RB rb RrBb RrBb RrBb RrBb rb RrBb RrBb RrBb RrBb rb RrBb RrBb RrBb RrBb rb RrBb RrBb RrBb RrBb It was marked wrong because I can't but the same thing on the top row. (RB) But wouldn't it make sense that since one parent is Homozygous dominant for both traits that they would all at least express the dominant traits? Then the other parent has no dominant genes so as far as I can see that should be right. If I'm wrong can someone explain it to me so I don't get this wrong on the final?

I try to not think about these things, to me, the word particele implies volume and mass, however tiny. BUt, if a photon is a particle, then it sould have mass. The simple equation Momentum= Mass X Velocity would imply that even though it's mass is miniscule, the speed would give it great momentum. Turning on the lights = hit by a sledge hammer. Since we can be in light with out being effected in that way, that is what makes me think of it as a wave. This is just my opinion and I have no evidence to back it up. It doesn't mean I don't think massles particles excist, I just don't see how.

Agreed, energy is not like money. I think most people here know that monetary units are all based on the fact that people want them. If all the people suddenly decieded that only red rocks were worth having, that would be currency and we would be wiping our ass with Mr. Franklien. Of course I don't think the governent would like it if all we used were red rocks. Here is somthing to think about though, You can't take a gold bar into block buster and rent a movie.
