  1. Thank you. The dreams make a lot more sense to me. Put in that context.
  2. Hi there, I am new to this place. I am not sure if this has been gone over before. If it has kindly point me to where I need to go to look this up. I have looked up Lucid dreaming and this doesn't seem to fit in to it completely, but it may be a form of it. I have dreams that I remember on a nightly basis. All of my dreams seem to be powered by an emotion. When I wake in the morning I still feel that emotion. If the dream was sad, I feel sad for part of the day, if it was happy I am in great spirits. There is always music playing in my dreams. I always wake up singing a song that came from my dream. In my dreams there are usually a lot of people, a lot of times they are people I do not know. I see them as I would in everyday life. Their features are normal features, doing normal everyday things, I can also hear their conversations every now and then, in passing by like I would in every day living. My dreams are all real bright colors. I can feel the breeze blow if there is a breeze in my dreams. I can even smell smells. If I am in the woods or the country it smells like the woods or country. In the city, the same thing. The only difference I can tell between waking and dream is the vibrant colors (everything seems brighter) and there is constant music in the background. In my most re-occuring dream I am being chased by someone or something that has magical powers/ a ghost/the devil/ something evil. I can fly run fast, etc. In my dream though I know it cannot catch me. When I come to doors I know which ones to open, which paths to choose. I feel like I have been there before, or have seen this episode before, so I know the outcome. I don't necessarily feel I have control over what happens in my dreams. I just know I won't be caught because I know what is going to happen. Another dream I have continuously is that I am driving or riding with someone in a pickup and we are driving out of control. Usually on a slick road. I or the driver (depending if I am driving or not) usually steps on the brakes and we slide completely out of control. We slide off the road and the pickup turns upside down, and we fall off a giant cliff. I close my eyes in the dream knowing that I am going to die. Miraculously the pickup stops on its top on a high point of land in the middle of the void and we don't die. Someone comes from outside of the pickup and gets us out. But, before they rescue me and I can see who it is I wake up. I was just curious to see if anyone could let me know what kind of dreams these are, and if there are any kind of meanings behind them. Also, is there a way that I can keep from waking up before I see who it is that is pulling me from the pick up. Again all of this is real, even feels more real than when I am awake.
  3. I believe that both the parent and the kid are responsible. Trust me, I deal with youth like these on a day to day basis. I work with these youth in a prison atmosphere on a day to day basis. I believe that the youth is responsible for choosing which actions to take. He chose to pick up the gun, he chose to take it to school, he chose to pull the trigger. On the other side of this, the parents are responsible. It is the parent's responsibility tho teach their children right and wrong. Teach them how to deal with their problems. A lot of the youth I see were never given this. They had to make it though their young lives learning things on their own. What I have found out about them is that their visions of what is right, wrong, and what is of value is very skewed. How are people supposed to deal with things if they are not given the avenues or tools to use to deal with them? So as I mentioned before, it is a failure on the part of the youth in using "sound" judgement, and the failure of the parent or parents in teaching their child what is right, wrong, and the appropriate way to handle things. Nowadays it seems that parents are trying to "avoid" the responsibility, "avoid" the blame for their mistakes. It is time for people to stand up and hold both parties accountable. The youth and the parent/parents.
  4. I have read that by the year 2015, the average "white" man, in the US, will be the minority. Then will it be ok to the masses to have a "whites only" scholarship?
  5. Hi all, Yes, I am one of those idiots that you are speaking of. I know hardly anything about science. I do know some though. As you can see by how many posts I have put up I mostly read what is going on, I do not answer many. I have an interest in science though and like to learn all I can. The only thing I see that the problem here is, is that a lot of people here are so sure about themselves, are so sure they are right. But, what if they are wrong? Could they even fathom that? I mean with the possible findings they are discovering in quantum mechanics these days, we could all be wrong. All I am saying is whom has given whom the right to call anybody an idiot. I feel the only dumb question is the one not asked, no matter how juvenile and simple it is. What I am saying is, is that I am impressed with how knowledgeable everyone is here. If at some point I do prove myself to be an "idiot" as you so put it, and ask an idiotic question, try and bear with me, I am learning.
  6. Here is my two bits, If guns are outlawed, (like the bumper sticked says) only outlaws will have them. If you make it harder for ordinary people to legally get guns, how are you planning on making it harder for criminals to get guns? Sure, you can have the ordinary "Joe" jump through tremendous hoops to prove he is competent enough to own a gun. But what is the point when a criminally minded person can go down and get one off of the street corner. As much as one would like to think other wise, gun running is just as big or even bigger today than it was 20+ years ago. It rivals drug running. Sure, you could make it so I have to pass multiple tests, pay hundreds of dollars for a lisence, etc. etc. etc. Going along with the driver's license, we still have people driving around without a driver's license. I believe that stricter gun rules will keep more guns out of the more responsible person's hands, leaving more guns in the criminally minded person's hands.
  7. Hey all, Honestly I don't mind the war. I even tried to join but due to a medical condition (too many concussions) I was deemed more of a liability to all of the branches I had contacted than help. The main thing I would like to know is what is this war fighting? I know the US can't back out because it would make it seem like we were wrong to start in the first place. Look at all of the feet the US is stepping on. Allies that are backing out, other countries getting mad. My uncle is in the Navy, is just finishing his last cruise before retirement, he says that the middle east isn't what the US has to worry about. It is Korea. According to him, I guess Korea isn't very happy with the US these days, and neither are to many other countries. Heck, the US isn't even happy with the US. The president not only has the US in a pickle, he has the civilians and the people fighting on his side in Iraq in a pickle to. If the US should back out, the Iraqi's main reinforcement would leave and the same thing would happen that happened when his father ran the country. They would all be lined up and killed. So, I ask all of you knowledgeable people here. What would be the best decision to make? Would you have the US back out and focus on an ever increasing threat elsewhere or stay and fight a war that many deem as pointless these days?
  8. I know about lack of sleep first hand. I do not know much about the scientific approach to it though. I work graveyard shift and go to school during the day. My duties also require me to be on call. My body has adapted in a way that I get my sleep at different times of the day. I sleep for half an hour here an hour there. The longest stretch I have gone is almost 6 days without sleep. I know that the first thing that suffers is your digestive system. You get real bad stomach aches and feel like vomiting. Then your balance and hand eye coordination start to be effected. After about the 4th day you will actually start hallucinating. Back to the sleep idea. When I get my sleep (in short bursts) it is deep, deep sleep. I instantly go to sleep when I rest. The idea that I have is that your body will adapt. I do not get 6-8 hrs of sleep in one full period of time, but I do get about 6-8 hrs accumulative. Do you think your body will find some way to adapt before it starts to turn on itself?
  9. I am new, so I just wanted to say hi to everyone. So...Hi...
