Interesting granpa, as The Physics Forum was one of maybe 30 I've played with over the years. It's been several years, but if available then, I was not aware of the option. There may be others, but I still fail to see the confusing angle and it's not hard to confuse, this old guy (me). Come to think of it, I recall a user name "oldgranpapa" (something like that) on the PF, was that you... It appears to me, ALL these public forums and/or other sites are setting up for high speed for one reason or another (security to adding income) and your option request or other filtering options would be simple to add. However as still a "dial up user", I wonder how much longer I'd have to wait between pages. -

granpa, I'm not aware of any public discussion forums, where you can view the discussions post from either direction. What you might be referring to are blogs and/or reply sections to an article, where they generally are from the current backwards, the latest being first. Having said this, you can access the discussion from the latest post on any forum format, simply by clicking the latest post and don't see any cause for your confusion. Since blogs/replies, rarely involve "quotes", it seems to me any confusion should be there. That is, any response should be directed at the article or blog, often not and it can be difficult to find to whom the comment is directed at. Not being computer literate myself, it wouldn't seem too difficult to offer the choice of order, but would be counter productive. It's much easier to detect the change in tone/substance of a thread by reviewing backwards (natural) and most all good, but long threads do change directions, sometimes many times. For instance in researching real estate, where price/locations/demographics or some other factor may be important you can direct the software to list according to your wishes. -
If Nucleosynthesis is correct, at some point under extreme heat no element can exist as that element, then what is that heat as any element decays back (opposed to natural isotope decay). Keeping in mind most all current and stable elements are results of fusion during solar activity. That is if elements were produced or capable of being produced, there should be a temperature connection and the reverse of nucleosysthesis possible....IMO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang_nucleosynthesis Fred Hoyle, an advocate for an eternal Universe (Steady State), tried to argue both expansion, by way of Hydrogen Production, via the idea Hydrogen was and had been consistently been created from empty space, think an atom or so per square meter, per some time period. Said another way, he was promoting an evolution of the Universe or additional matter, basically in arguing BBT, which IMO was an error. IMO, if over time Hydrogen or any stable element is subject to heat/cold, it either reverts back to subatomic particles or during some process (event) is defused back into those particles. Said another way, matter in the Universe is today, whatever form it's in is the same as it's always been. Expansion then, if even true (I seriously doubt), should have been argued differently, as could any of the additional "SO CALLED" supporting evidence for BBT.

where would one take a reliable I.Q. test online for free?

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=Online+IQ+Test&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=Online+IQ+Test&gs_rfai=&fp=ad526d12389e3c08 The above the first page of a google search, with several free to choose from. Often I find many folks are more concerned with "Personal Aptitude Testing" (what you might be best at) and the link below... http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=online+aptitude+testing&aq=2sx&aqi=g-s1g-sx9&aql=&oq=Online+Apptitude+Test&gs_rfai=&fp=ad526d12389e3c08 -

Personally, I don't expect that particular Mosque will ever get built*. NYC, is not the place for any questionable symbol to be erected. Where some of you wish for a reminder of the event, some memorial, there are Countless Imam's (clergy) and a definable portion of Islamic's (terrorist, traditionalist and the ISLAMIC BROTHERHOOD) that want a memorial built in the heart of what they feel is the Mecca of Western Traditional Culture. As too often happens people are equating Religion and Cultures and no culture has a distinct right to impose their culture on another, IMO... *No Construction plans have been offered, no means to support the contracting and building of the Mosque and NYC has very strict regulations on both. I seriously doubt any Union would oblige any member to take part in this one venture, or in fact if (elected) those involved in permitting or promoting the construction will be in office, when these items are offered. If Bloomberg, doesn't care where the money comes from, maybe a quick review of the goals of the Islamic Brotherhood, would be in order... As for the Mosque, four blocks from "Ground Zero" (symbolic word in itself), it was there long before 9-11 or I'd bet it would be receiving the same arguments today, if it had not been there. I wonder, just how many people Muslims actually live in the area, to begin with.

What would you change about the new SFN?
jackson33 replied to Cap'n Refsmmat's topic in Suggestions, Comments and Support
I'm sure this is something trivial, but in looking up a new member, seen earlier (newest member)and know his work well (DrmDoc) to send a welcoming message to (accomplished), the page number option did not work. I place a number in the box, entered and it went back to page one. If there is no cost involved, you might consider having a user name option on page one, where a poster can enter and go directly to that poster, either in the members list or directly to the profile...
