Well ,apart from the terms used can we say that it is meaningless to talk about the separation or distance between physical objects except in a context of a physical connection between them?** Can we even say that ,if no interaction occurs then there is no connection at all btw the objects? **(btw can we say -or define it so - that all physical objects are composed of "events"-perhaps not "events" as commonly used to mean coordinate points on a 4d spacetime diagram but as actual physical interactions)

As a measure of a distance between objects does the term ,"event separation " mean exactly the same thing as "the spacetime interval"? (as the terms are commonly used) Do physical objects only exist in the framework of the events that went into making them up and changing them?

So the irregularity in the day to day advances in the times of the high tides would be down to the local topography? Otherwise ,if it was just the supposition of the lunar and solar effects it would seem to me that the changes would be smoother I can still discern a pattern in the irregularity where I am in that the time interval between the high tides seem to alternate between a greater and a smaller amount (although the exact numbers do not repeat) But that would presumably be a different pattern in different areas

I operate as a rule of thumb that the time of high tide advances by about an hour from one day to the next. Not exactly of course -a bit under the hour I think . I don't understand ,though why these time differences are irregular. One day it might be around and hour and the next day it could be about 45 minutes. What causes this irregular pattern? Are the tides are part of a chaotic global maritime weather system?

Michael Cohen was just speculating -quite forcefully on CNN that he could have had (or could have claimed he had) copies made and shared with associates and so could blackmail the police into dropping serious charges against him by threatening to release them. Suppose I coat a surface with 2 layers of paint -one is black and the other white. If the white layer is underneath the black layer and the top (black) layer is exposed to sunlight, does the white layer work as a thermal insulant? I can see the black layer gets hot but does this heat transmit to the surface across the white layer beneath as well as it would if the white layer was not there? (So does a layer of white paint insulate against the transmission of heat when we are not talking about radiation but transmission via direct contact?)
