Alright, I've never hidden the fact that I am not a fan of math's so I never saw the need to study Calculus, hence many things in Physics simply go over my head(whooosh) . That is why in many things related to physics, I'm looking for a Cliff-Notes version, especially w/o the use math's or the jargon of Physics. I came across the idea/theory/whatever of Strangelets and it sparked a mild curiosity, so I need your help. Either from what you already know or from the linky below, can you provide an English(no mathematics) summary of what the Strangelets are about? Are they only hypothetical or confirmed(real)? Etc. Be as brief or as detailed as you can or want. Thanks, appreciate the responds on the matter. http://www.physics.rutgers.edu/~jholden/strange/strange.html

the prime number

I'm not sure I get this, but what exactly does this signify? Ok, so now there is a number made up of 2 or 6(or whatever)mil chars, but where and how and why would you employ it?
-
Yes, and so is skipping a day or in some cases if it won't kill you outright, it will severely deteriorate your condition so that you will die very very soon afterwards. It has to be taken on a day to day basis(no skippage) and exact same amounts.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Ok. Don't know much about the drugs, real or not, but, then from what you're saying that the notion of a 'truth drug' is really a placebo?

My last thread here warrants this one. I find myself in a state with mixed feelings about these two journals. Both are excellent and very reputable, but a dual subscription is not likely(least not in my case or not now), even with a student's discount - especially for a long term subscription(probably permanent). So, I need to subscribe to either one or the other and I need your opinions. Leaving out the political boundaries(Science - USA / Nature - UK), which journal do you think/ feel / know would provide me with what I need, more so, then the other. (Taking into account that both journals cover these things) With my field of study(Physical Anthropology), some of the crucial things for me are: Research/Essays on: (Evolution/Developments/etc, of )Primates and Hominids Genetics Archeology and pretty anything else covered by the umbrella of Anthropology

I'm glad I waited, but I was going to say the exact same thing(that is why evidence derived from a lie detector is not admissible in the court of law) if it were not for YT's insertion of 'Truth Drugs'. So the question still remains, I suppose. Assuming that these drugs really do work, then in combination of using them and lie detectors, is it possible to arrive at a concrete reason/logic/truth?

Yes, that's the other one. And yes, please post some more, especially on the M-theory... -

Unfortunately, Physics are NOT my primary interest so no, I'm not equipped with this lexicon, nor perhaps do I want to know the fine details. I was kind of hoping for a cliff-notes version {edit} By the way, I did print, although haven't had the chance to read those two 10 page pdf's you've provided, but I will. -
Some or rather many things that these ancient Greek philosophers theorized is simply amazing. For example, some of the more notable Greeks, Aristotle, Plato, etc, have came up with are still being debated to this day, and no end is in sight.

Still, it's phenomenal how close it gets, especially considering their primitive technology and possibly mathematics? That, and the pyramids of S. America, does raise interesting questions about pyramids. The thing about Jupiter, yeah, it certainly would pose some problems if it crossed between us and the sun, but I guess I was suggesting a similar method of finding it.

Wrong on so many levels. By the way, making arsenic beverage ( ) as a part of your regular diet, and as long as the doses remain the same from day to day, eventually you'll build up a tolerance to it. Any change in quantity(days or amounts) will severely skew the system and screw you, but one can get quite a large amount of arsenic into their body before it'll kill them. Also, even accumulating a large amounts of arsenic in the body, with proper medical attention, you can recover(well, nearly so).

A New Theory for the Origins of Life

Well, in the light of this evidence, I suppose he's trying to redefine the word Troll. -

so uhm, how many string theories are out there? Since the Nature Journal is a highly respectable scientific journal, I kind of doubt the paper turned in will be published(taking the above quote in consideration and as an example) if it does not meet their strict criterion. -
If the universe came from a bang.. then what about space?

Theory of the earth's inclination
admiral_ju00 replied to mooeypoo's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
Yes, but that is still debatable. I know that one of them is thought to have hit the Gulf of Mexico, but where is the other one? Isn't that one assumed to be near Australia or something??? -
Because it makes you rely more on the GUI. The more sophisticated a GUI becomes, the more crashes it becomes prone to. So if (and I sure hope not) eventually Linux will look like Windows, where all the primary functions are done in the GUI's - X windows, then the shell will become more like MS-DOS, a secondary system as opposed to being the primary. I still use Gnome at times, but the fact that I have to load the xfree86, is still annoying me, and like I said, it serves me for a very limited time/degree. Besides, I like browsing the web in a Lynx browser(yeah, call me crazy )

Your answer: heh. sorry, couldn't resist forgot the fine details, but as i recall, there are differences in the brain waves, emotions, attention, etc, between men and women. Glider should be able to provide a much better explanation.

rofl. that should be interesting. i'm in, do it!!!!
